Dogecoin to the moon
Great introduction on what it does and the practical use for testing bad power bricks and cables. Thanks for showing examples.
It does much more. Trying to keep the videos between 10 -14 min. I may go over more on the live show tonight.
just remember, if you dont have any wierd friends it is prolly you
Lol yeah I figured it out a long time ago. My wife says her life would be boring without me.
Unlike a type A port, a type C port will not supply voltage unless a type C device has been connected, as part of its protection protocol to prevent plugging two power sources into each other. That's why the tester doesn't power up from the type C port until a device is also plugged into the tester and they negotiate the power up. The little accessory is a USB OTG adapter. It can be pushed into the type A input connector and then plugged into a phone, etc. that has a microUSB connector with OTG support. In this case the phone provides the power (no other power source should be connected to the tester at the same time). A device like a memory stick can then be plugged into the tester and the phone will power it through the tester.
Yeah someone told me there was an adapter for that but mine didn’t come with it. Great info for the thread. I appreciate it very much
Your zap scared the shit out of me. Lol, good video buddy.
Thanks. It was a fun one. Lol
I bought the tester a few days ago, but wasn't exactly sure how to use it. I'm still a bit foggy on it, but your video has helped.
Great video on how to use this. I kept plugging mine in expecting it to work like a receptacle tester and when it didn’t come on I figured it was broken. Didn’t know I needed a source to be charged to see it turn on.
I’m glad this helped. I appreciate the support. Thank you
Using this I verified a usb-c port didn’t work so it was well worth the money. I think everyone needs one.
The reason that the tester doesn't appear to be working when you plug it into the Type C is that you're missing the dongle for the Micro USB input - that should have come with the device and needs to be inserted in order to use the device on a Type C USB.
Ahhh good to know. Thank you. Problem is it didn’t come with that. Lol
Curiously enough, I tried it right after watching your video and it doesn’t make a difference with that miniUSB dongle at all - so ignore my suggestion!
@@CTdavid lol it’s all good
Where did it go... There it is!! 😁.. I bet I can use it as a component tester... 😳... It got a limited load range though... 😁
I got mine for $8 from aliexpress it’s still on there. Same model as the one in this video. Iv had it for almost 2 years now still works great.
Thatts cool
Do you have a link for it, James? I think I saw the same one you bought on aliexpress but I just want to make sure.
Pretty neat thing great way to test those USB to find out what’s going on. 👍
Dang, I just missed out on the giveaway. Great vid!
Charley brown is a good show. I think the type c has a weird open to close circuit thing where it only works if you have power going on and going out. That zap effect made me jump that was funny. I can probably use something like that to test many devices cables power packs and battery packs. It can come in handy I wish everyone best of luck on trying to win the product
Anyone know of a more comprehensive video explanation? Clicking the display button cycles through some interesting screens, 2 of which are graphs and I'm looking for info on what they read and example use cases. Also on the bottom right of your LCD display is "OFF" ... On mine its a red "NO. 01". Curious what model does it say on the back? I ordered same one with bluetooth and it didnt have the VA/D+- graphs
That's a neat little doodad, I just ordered it, thanks for the video.
It is pretty cool
3:17 not funny
What video. It doesn’t tell me.
Lol it just showed up. That seems to get everybody.
F*ck. That got me too lol
Nice presentation. Thanks.
Good video. But for the love of God, peel those protective clear plastic membranes off the unit; they look like shite. :)
Lol I was giving it away so I wanted to protect it. But your right.
lol nice Intro!😂
$25 on Amazon, living in Thailand has its advantages direct market from China same device cost me under $12
That really cool. They come in handy.
I bought a new cell phone. I found this to be (normal) but not always the case. My new cell phone is capable of charging up to 15 watts but comes with a 10-watt charger. I have chargers I have accumulated over time. I am old and my eyesight is not what it used to be. I can't read the extremely small print even with my reading glasses that are printed on the brick. I just want to know how many watts my bricks are putting out. I may already have an older charger with 15 watts or better so I ordered a new charger. Possibly, I may have already had one to do the job Will this device tell me the wattage?
Yes
If we're testing the charging speed of our phone, should we look at voltage, amp, or total power if we're just looking at 1?
End game... 😳
LOL at the intro
yeah I was clowning around. I think I binge watched Adam Sandler movies the week I made that. Lol
great thanks!
No problem
Damn near left the video with that intro
Lol yeah it was pretty stupid. I was in a weird mood that day. That’s not the norm.
I found the formula for wattage.
Can you use this device in both directions? I want to measure Raspberry Pi 4 power supply, which is USB-C Male on charger and USB-C Female on Raspberry Pi. So that would be like this: Power supply USB-C Male end goes into this device USB-C Female Output port and USB-C Male Input goes into Raspberry Pi. Can you test this if it works in both directions or do I need additional adapters too.
I don’t believe so but not quite sure. I didn’t think to try it that way. I no longer have it. I had gave it away.
Question? Is there a way that you can store the data streaming from the USB digital tester into your laptop?
Unfortunately no.
with the bluetooth version it is theoretically possible but the software support isnt there rn
I'm doing nuttin
cani still win
lol unfortunately no.
neat
How to use the Bluetooth
0:00
I didnt get the alligator clips or a plastic over mine
I’m trying to remember but when I bought that one I didn’t know the alligator clips came with it.
Are you still giving one away??
No that was over a year ago.
Do he know the difference between voltage and current ? 😉
yes I know the difference. I haven't watched this video in a bit however I'm sure there was a part that i misspoke.my apologies.
Faltou legenda ou tradutor
Thank you? I’ll have to find out what language this is to translate it. Lol
That device is crap :/
Btw you need the small micro usb inserted to make usb c to work without plug-in anything on the other side
Small micro usb that came with it
The small micro usb didn’t come with mine. Someone had mentioned that before. It works ok. The video was cheep content for the channel. I’m not that big so everything I do comes out of my pocket.
You also can use a simple USB gadget:

That looks pretty cool. I like the build it yourself.
