it's a lovely bike that 900..they've always made beautiful 4 cylinder engines..I've got an 890duke r for my sins and still think of my early Kawasaki ownership with great fondness
If i had a z900 rs. I'd of had the older blue z1b paint style, with the longer tail piece, pillion grab rail and the 4 into 4 exhaust system. It would add weight, but would look great.
glad you love it - if I was your height it would be great for me too but as I'm ONLY 6 feet tall, the Z650RS is just right for me, which I love. Wish it looked as great as the 900 if I'm honest, but nothing else out there floats my boat enough to change the Z650RS - now if they bought out a 4 cylinder version, THEN I might consider changing 😉
The Z650rs is a great looking bike Tim, sadly it felt really small when I sat on one otherwise I may have been tempted myself...I've noticed that they've brought out a yellowball colour scheme for the 650 which looks SO good!

Don't write it off yet! There are suspension lowering kits available to drop the height by 30mm, and Kawasaki themselves offer a lower seat as an accessory, which saves you a further 35mm. You will lose a little ground clearance with lower suspension, but unless you're a trackday fiend, that's unlikely to cause you a problem during normal road riding.
I know what you mean, when you say you have found your perfect bike and its a keeper. I think this about my Orange Speed Twin then I saw the new one, and now I`m definitely keeping mine. Have you seen what they have done to it..?

I have that same grab rail on my W800. I found the perfect bike for me just like you found the perfect bike for you. I prefer the sound of a 360 degree twin but I must admit that the Z900rs is the best sounding four cylinder I have ever heard. It is, however, too much bike for the riding that I do. Great choice, Willie. The “Kwaka 9” was impressive when it came out in the early 1970’s. I would’ve bought the same, but in 2014 it wasn’t around. I bought the Yamaha XJR1300 instead. Another classic retro.

It’s a very appealing motorcycle. I test rode a Z-1 in 1974, as I was considering selling my Honda CB 750-4. But it scared the you-know-what outta me. I was shaking when I got back to the seller’s driveway. Sold the Honda, got married (less scary than the Z-1), and nearly 50 years later I’m still a fan of that sort-of Z-1 clone. Keep it, Will.
