Tbh dark don't need alot of work for it, it's the most overplayed tank job at its current state in shb , and remember dark already had its changes awhile back
Unless u want to go back to the dark arts spam age again , also they had a few new attacks it was difficult to see because dark is "flashy"
Scholar had alot of new skills aswell , the fairy did a new Aoe buff, u have a movement speed spell aswell, plus a new shield which people did not pay attention to

I'm kinda scared cos I love monk for now, although the mudras are an interesting change, and I'm mostly fine with them moving away from a the job having a rhythm and into a job with satisfying climaxes, but im super super disappointed in them removing some positional requirements and shifting it to a 60s rotation, it'll be rough but let's hope it works out
@@murky8268 I mean, Monk still has 4 positionals, and frankly, 90s burst windows kinda sucked.
Riddle of Fire is 60s, and Brotherhood is now 2m, so it's not going to be as chaotic tbh, especially when it comes to chakra. Hopefully they buffed Brotherhood to compensate for the longer recast.

@Trash Person Heck yeah, Lost Swift has been a really great tool in Bozja. And equivalent effects in WoW have been really good too. If it's SCH unique, tbh I wouldn't be surprised to see Sage getting benched for SCH for a lot of prog groups due to SCH Swift just being that much of a prog crutch.

I think this is where I appreciate OG FFXIV content creators more than freshly new player, they can most of the time identify which jobs have new abilities and give the jobs trailer justice with their knowledge. I love their reactions which I can resonate with.
It’s kind of crazy to think that post-Endwalker players won’t get to experience SMN or AST before the changes. The versions that we have of them right now will only exist in old videos and people will start to say things like “remember when…” or “omg, SMN used to…” and etc.

Some classes had huge changes from Stormblood to Shadowbringer already and pre Stormblood was even more different
@@Blutwind Which all stands, but this time around they’re actually removing major staples about the job. Like removing Nocturnal Sect and making AST a pure healer. Someone from HW or SB will return and be like “I remember when AST could be a WHM or a SCH.” Same goes for SMN. It’s an entirely different job.
It’s just crazy to think that after EW, the Diurnal/Nocturnal AST or the DOT-based SMN will only exist through videos and nostalgia factors and the only people who get to experience that are the people playing right now.

I was too until I saw how it played. Your entire rotation is linear and everything is tied to the same button. 19/24 of your casts per minute are free. You literally just do the MCH heat blaster weave (but single instead of alternating) for 75% of your attacks. I've mained the class forever largely because Ive always liked it's high skill ceiling. New SMN looks cool but it just looks so...boring.
@@ethanhenderson3942 as a summoner main I also agree, aesthetically looks the best it ever had but it felt rewarding to make use of full dreadwyrm trance for movement and also delaying every other bahamut to get enkindle and bahamut under buffs on a fast trance cycle for example. I feel that kind of optimisation is gone now based on what we’ve seen.
@@ItsSVO yeah! Simplification isn't necessarily the worst thing ever, but removing players options is always bad to me. I'd be a bit more excited about these changes if you could still activate the countdown timer to phoenix without actively summoning Bahamut, but since you can't, a major part of SMN optimization is gone. You won't be able to adjust your rotation to account for variances in push timing and such (e.g.,, abusing the downtime in Alex Prime in TEA by lining up your DWT bursts so it burns during mechanics making it so you burst during every opening window). Pair that with the lack of resource management and free casts, and you're just kinda magical dancer.
@@ethanhenderson3942 dude I used to love using my dreadwyrm around 7-8 dashes on wormhole and get the death flare off just when prime comes back, then you just get enough time before the perfect transition to sit your dreadwyrm on CD again, used to love that shit but I agree that has to be gone now, I see dreadwyrm trance just being more like wnochian now from what I saw :(
@@ItsSVO Yeah it's actually insane. I'm on PA enrage right now in that fight on SMN and I'm trying to hammer it out and get a good parse before the class gets gutted and I've been doing the wormhole DWT trick too in order to get an extra demi-summon in PA. There are so many sick things you can do in that fight on SMN. Such a nutty optimization ceiling. So sad it's probably gonna be razed to the ground now.

Im really happy with the looks of everything so far, even looks like some older skills got a graphic and animation face-lift which is really nice. Also Summoner is looking really nice and as a tank main all the tanks animations look especially nice to me.
I like how Chat is laughing at summoner,then they see what they're in for lol,you know the rework is good when people start having a stroke in chat like at 15:23

Paladin has me super excited. I really love those sword from the heaven type attacks in games ever since I first learned Ragnarok in Golden Sun on the GBA. That attack, with the sounds it made and how much damage it did was the first real taste of power you got in that game and wow did it stick in my mind lol

That warrior defensive looked like nascent flash. You can tell because it changed the warriors normal aura to the nascent flash aura. I'm hoping it means nascent flash is self targetable - which means we can get the defense bonus too and which means it may be usable without a target in pvp.
It also has that diamond effect from raw intuition i feel like theyre mixing the two into a better cooldown
aside from pvp nascent flash has been usable solo for a long time now

@stillFLiP AOE attacks in doton have added effects. Raiton gets a gap closer follow-up which gets a final follow-up. Looks like each mudra combination will have its own finishers.
SCH and BRD were the only misses for me. Everything else ranged from hype to hype 4.
Yeah those were the most lackluster of the jobs for sure
BRD got very juicy changes in the form of buffs tho, albeit not that flashy.
@@Bzk-- yeah and they still have some time to make adjustments before launch, overall there is much hype.
All they have to do to make scholar good is just give it shadow flare and miasma back
@@RaddyC Considering it looks like they took the DoTs away from SMN I don't know if they'll give them to scholar. But I agree, a better damage kit would go a long way.

Man… Drk kinda getting shafted. Everything else looking sooo good though. The other three tanks looking swol. Finally getting the Smn I always wanted. No more umbral spam on blm. And Mnk is finally looking polished. Hyped as hell here.

Is Sheltron still mediocre? Is there still no additional gauge spender? Is Cover still basically DoA? Is rotation still braindead? Are all these sword attacks gonna make button bloat ridiculous or are we just spamming one button? I think people got pulled into flashy swords go brrr and are acting like its a job rework or something lmao

Interesting to see how none realized that neither charge nor Upheavel spent any Beast until they told us in the powerpoint slides. lel
And first now that we look at the video again after the slides, notice the changes more plainly.
But dang so nice the few yet nice changes to warrior, no beast on upheavel and charge makes for good early burst and the 50sec albeit only 3 cleaves is nice, since we get the 4th mega attack for free from IR.
Warrior is going to be OP in Deep Dungeons, when they already are so strong in HoH, the changes scream "easy road to Lone Hero title, baby!".
The Warrior doing nothing in the SCH showcase looks more spectacular than the SCH himself.
Would have been nice if the SCH was carried by Feo Ul / Titania for 20 yalms in front (like gap closer) while other party member get a bit more moving speed. The current animation for the new sprint spell makes no sense and Feo Ul / Titania would atleast be comparable to SMNs Bahamut/Phoenix.
As much as wanting Feo Ul to be part of the SCH spells, it wouldn't make sense since Pixies from the First are vastly different from Scholar Fairies. The fairies are just arcane construct that are fancier than Carbuncles. Pixies are full-blown living being with high magical aptitude. And Pixies are also very, very mischievous
@@warkiller Oh, I see. I understood that Pixies would literally consist entirely from Magic and that's why for example Feo Ul can reach the Source.
After reading your reply I also thought that it would've been cool if you'd summon Eos/Selene (the one that you have not summoed yet in that moment, basically showing that the SCH would be able to control both of them for a short time) and it casts the Sprint Spell for you including a AoE Barrier or something.The problem with SCH spells is, that they all look like Adloqium somehow and it feels really sluggish because you slide with most the animations of your spells and especially with a spell that you will cast all the time before movement is needed just makes it worse.
@@warkiller Considering SMN doesn't directly summon the primals, rather a fraction of their power, SCH could do the same with Titania.

as a PLD and SMN main...I am so hyped.
RDM gets an AoE shield, PLD joins BRD in the Fate/Stay Night train (EMIYA vs Gilgamesh let's goooo), Summoner effectively turns END into a 3-Job expansion and makes out like a bandit... every Job got some cool shit this go round.

I wonder how much more hype some of these animations would be if the dmg numbers while playing were more apparent and built up instead of just 1 flat number for a hit
If they do with infuriate what they do with monk meditation I think we have nothing to worry about.
i.e. "Infuriate out of combat doesn't consume a charge and grants 100 rage".
So you just pop it once in prepull and you just have your two charges to use when the fight starts.
Welp consider my interest revitalized. I've been feeling burnt out lately, but these job actions got me hyped for jobs I didn't even care for previously.

Scholar's officially in the grave. It was my main healer through SHB when I felt like healing, but man, I just can't after this. SMN, on the other hand...
Same, i sort of fell in love with SCH because i wanted to quickly lvl SMN through the healer queue, stuck with scholar even though i meant to play SMN, now I don't know what to do..... Sage main incoming
Speed buff will be great in pug and prog. Also with sage having several heal through dealing DMG mechanics, I think sch shields will be a bit better to balance it. And at the very least, if it's doing well more of the same is a good thing. Definitely don't think we have enough info to say sch is dead.
Former SCH that switched to Noct AST here. Will also be going SGE. While I didn't see anything regarding Dissipation, Fey's Union, or Seraph, considering the Fairy Gauge, at least one of them is still there. But, hey, at least Fey's Blessing no longer costs gauge now. Now, we have even less of a reason to have that gauge other than punishing SCH extra hard for dying.
I guess I'll see SCH again in the expansion after EW.
Since 2.5-3.0 but yeah,it's nice people acknowledge it,better late than never...
So im confused. did yall forget that all healers are getting a 1.5 sec main nuke cast so you can single weave any cast? because thats huge for whm and for sch.

Noooooo, summoner was my "It's like 1 a.m., I'm tired, I'll laser blast then cast/spread dots before throwing out the aoe fester/fester and channeling ruins" class..
I don't want to be a black mage with the phases, heh..
It's more like Magical MCH. 19/24 of your GCD's per minute are instant. And you don't have any resources to manage. It's all free. And they're all tied to the same button. It looks way more braindead than it was, so don't worry, you can still play the class at 1am happily.
That was fast, we still bitching about Teleportation prices and belts and you uploading this badassery. Confiteor 2, 3, and 4 Hype!

Kinda funny how summoner got a complete rework...and scholar got "power walking"... Even astro got a slight rework and is now a pure heal..no shield sect... Sage is kinda similar to geomencer...attacking the enemy heals the same amount the marked player hp. Whitemage gets a totem thing that mirrors your heals....so now scholar will lose a lot of playerbase.

Definitely got the 2 stack treatment like all the other tanks.
@@muchhorrorsuchwow Honestly, that's super lame. I already hate the other tanks' gap closers because you never have enough to use during a dungeon, but I never had trouble with the warrior dash.

It's a 2 minute rotation to cycle from the start back to Bahamut. Same as it's been, they've just shortened the length of Bahamut and Phoenix but changed the filler phases.
