This deserves so many more views. Secondly.....very nice save....Thirdly....dang I wish my varsity soccer games were recorded with commentary. Not too much of a big deal now but in 1993 this is pretty much unheard of.
I know exactly what you mean. I scored 11 goals my senior year (1987) and we had 2 games recorded. Both of which I didn't score. Even college ball my team, good Division 2 team, got no media coverage. Tim played in New Jersey which is the hot bed of soccer in the U.S.. My local travel team played in a tournament there when I was 16 and we lost to the eventual champion 4-1 ( the only goal they gave up all tourney) to a team with Tab Ramos, John Harkes and Tony Meola on it. Not fair! (Side note: I was the one that scored off Meola :). )
@@CoachThom16 Thats insane! And awesome! Meola got a bad rap by some folks but I thought he was awesome.
@@egomaniac247 I like to think I was at his greatest performance for the U.S., i can't even recall what they called it but it was in a mini tournament vs England in Massachusetts (was it the U.S. Cup maybe?) and we won 2-0 on goals from Dooley and Lalas. Meola stopped everything in dramatic fashion, at least 3 breakaways, a few double saves and I think a triple. He stood on his head that game and the crowd was going nuts
