One of the best things about a gibbs run is seeing the defenders go flying at the end of the run when contact is made, especially at the sidelines. Gibbs put that shoulder down and wins 80% of the time. Tough dude for his size.
Absolutely! He's got that much speed and power going forward. I just commented the same before scrolling down and reading this. He's a bully on that field. We got very lucky with him and jaymo for the O.
plus lions o-line is a good fit for him.
I was just going to make a similar comment. He takes some big hits, but it's the defender taking the brunt of it. He almost never goes down after the first hit.

Played against him when I was in high school. He had 11 rushes against for 176 yards 2tds AND a kickoff return TD. So cool to see him succeeding and wish the best for him ❤️
It must have been awesome to see his potential up close in personal, and yet incredibly tiring and frustrating to have to try and defend against him haha

oh okay cool, I went to Northwest Whitfield. The year after I graduated my alumni's first game was against Dalton. He took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and scored a few more. Instantly knew he was special @@AlarmingPlayz

We knew he was a beast once he played Raiders. Before that he was almost breaking runs too quickly. He figured it out and the rest will be history.

Brad Holmes said we didn’t draft Jahmyr because he was a running back, we drafted him because he’s a special football player. They were going to draft him at 6, but they were able to trade back and get the pick that turned into Sam LaPorta. Genius move.
Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 945 yards this season. He was also known for his blazing, pure speed, so he was very physical for his size at 5 foot 9 and 200 pound back. He runs like a powerful back.
Even though we lost the Championship, still love my home team :)

After the 24-25 season Gibbs will be a top 2-3 RB in the league. He has the highest upside currently out of any rb in the league. Dude is special.
Gibbs was my favorite player in last years draft and I’m a Lions fan so when we drafted him I was screaming at the TV and jumping up and down with joy.
Top 2-3 is a stretch cuz bijan is the overall better player in terms of skill Gibbs was jus put into a better situation, but I got see Gibbs being up there with saquon , cmc , bijan , kyren and k9

I'm a packers and bills fan. The 2022-23 season I said they will be special next year. Following year 2023-24, here is detroit. Can't wait to see what they have this season coming up. Gibbs is a monster and extremely talented. Him and Montgomery are insane. Yes I've became a detriot fan to now lol.
He is so elusive and explosive. He busted up for a bunch of 20-40yd runs. I believe next year we will see a plethora of 50+ yards runs outta him. Even with D-Mo, Gibbs will get well over 1,500 all-purpose yards and at least a dozen TDs 💪
We will be back plain and simple.

What a stellar pick!! I was frightened when the Lions turned loose their two great RB from the previous Season! Brad and Dan knew what they were doing.
Lions are very fortunate next season. They have 2 inexpensive highly effective backs that do very different things. Hopefully they can get another really good season out of Monty and there is a chance that Gibbs hasn’t hit his ceiling yet. He’s only 21

This kid is the real deal his coaches and teammates love him and he will be great and his partner "the veteran" Monty is only 26 I think so they have a few years together to be special

At first I did not understand the pick (not like I have much college football knowledge anyway) but seeing him now, I would’ve taken him over anyone else in the draft. So excited to see him in the future
Jahmyr is special. He's that rare combo of speed, slash and power. I was worried about how he'd take the hits, given his frame. But he dishes out like a pure power back. One on one tackles, it the d player going backwards.
Wait til they incorporate him more in their passing game next year. I'll take him over any secondary defender, one on one.

What’s also INSANE about Gibbs season is NOBODY talked about him, nor even heard of him during the draft! EVERYBODY were so stuck on Bijon Robinson. Not only that, BLASTED Brad Holmes for picking him 12th overall. Almost same as LaPorta, nobody really talked about him in the draft or mock draft conversation. Now we have thee best rookie picks! Just goes to show that our GM knows what he’s doing and don’t care about the hype of popular players coming out of college! 💪🏾 in Brad we trust

People definitely knew about Gibbs before the draft, he was a star in Alabama! The thing was that he was expected to be taken later in the first or early second, it was a surprise that Lions took him early as they did.
Gibbs was great at GA Tech, and then again at Alabama. He was a first rounder for a reason

You could see the announcers dance around the comparison to Barry Sanders, because there's a degree that they are considerably different types of player and how they are used, and so a direct comparison IS to no small extent unfair. He's more of a Marshall Faulk-type scat back whereas Barry was honestly a more traditional half back at least in terms of playcalls and formations.
But where I think you CAN make a comparison is in their potential effect on a game, because they are both dynamic, electric playmakers where any time they get the ball, no matter where they are on the field, it carries the possibility for 6.
