Very cool!!! I decided not to go in of this, had it pre-ordered but cancelled it and ended up getting the AC-12 Cab forward. Looks great and sounds great. Maybe someday Ill get my hands on one of these. For now, Ill enjoy watching other peoples on their layouts.
Yeah, the way I look at it is that these engines are very expensive and you have to really want one of them to justify spending this kind of money. You've got to get ones that you'll really enjoy. I like the cab forwards too but I collect UP so the 4-12-2 made sense to me.
Thank you. Below is a link to a live video I did back in March. After the first couple of minutes, I give a tour of my layout which will give you some good information about it. The minimum curve on my layout is 0-72 and the long red bridge is 0-96 and there is a bunch of 0-84 on the layout also. ua-cam.com/video/yji2G4ORJUk/v-deo.html
If you are asking about the red bridge, I made that from scratch. The base of the bridge (the part the track rests on) is just plywood. The sides are just Masonite with balsa wood strips glued in place. If you are asking about the inclines, I used Woodland Scenics 2% inclines. I used two side-by-side to get the right width.
Was it running on o72 curves? If not what were your curves? Also is the coupler in the front of the engine compatible with normal sized couplers. I wanted to buy 2 and run a lashup but I’m not sure if that small coupler will prevent me from doing that
Love the darkened side rods!! Great video Train Fam!!! -RTT
Thank you!
Glad you are back. Still love your video with that Baby K4. Think I have watched it a couple hundred times lol
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed my baby K4 video! I guess I'm doing something right!
I always wanted to get one of these. The chuffing sounds correct, 6 chuffs per rev but with a lope. Awesome!
If you can swing it, you should! It’s a very unique engine and not with just the chuffing either!
Great video & review! Wasnt sure if I was gonna get one of these 9000s but after seeing your video I've decided to get one!
I’m glad I could sway your decision!
Great review. Loved that head on camera shot. Your layout is coming along very nicely.
Thank you! I'm frustrated because I haven't made much progress on it lately and I'm anxious to do more on the layout.
Beautiful locomotive and caboose!
Great review. Thanks for sharing and enjoy them!
P.S. - the layout is looking awesome!
Thank you for the kind words! I have a ways to go with the layout.

Awesome locomotive 🚂
Thank you!
Great review and video! Do you have a video that has an over view of your layout? What are your curves radius?

I love the review! Quick question what did you use as material for the elevated curved section?

Is there a volume control anywhere on this engine ?
