- Clara Klingenström hamnade på femteplats i finalen av Melodifestivalen 2021 med låten Behöver inte dig idag.
Clara Klingenström är en 25-årig popartist och låtskrivare från Gotland. Hela hennes familj sysslar med musik. Efter debutsingeln ”Ensam i en stad”, som släpptes våren 2019, har hennes artistkarriär stadigt vunnit mark och satt hennes namn på musikkartan. 2020 följde hon upp med radiofavoriten ”Sommarminnen”.
Clara har blivit uppmärksammad för sina ärliga och nakna texter som förmedlar en stark igenkänningsfaktor. Och det är hon som har skrivit just texten till tävlingsbidraget.

She got 5th place if you count the votes and not the points
Tusse may have won but this was the real winner of the night! She was totally unknown before this and finished 3rd in the televote, she got more points from the televote than both Dotter and Eric. Very proud to have voted for this masterpiece. Well done Clara and please do come back next year and win it all
She had one summer hit in 2020, that’s how I know her. So wouldn’t call hear unknown, but definitely not very famous!

This song is just out of the world. She really shows already the emotion in it and its so relaxing to listen to. Considering how new she is and that this is actually one of her first songs this is just amazing. Im so happy that ive discovered her. She finished 5th!! That litteraly made my night

Also this song was such a breath of fresh air between all the calculated and polished songs, this Swedish genuine song stood out so well. Clara you can be proud of yourself!
I remember hearing this in semi4 after 5 songs in which I only liked one and in that moment I immediately connected. It's so simple but just magical and truthful. She won my heart
I though nothing of it until andra chansen happened and much like many others,I realized how good it is.
It still is polished though. Made to sound authentic..

Definetly, with Tusse, the DISCOVERING of the year!! Beuatiful, nostalgic and honest perfomance and song. No need for an epic staging... just a microphone, a guitar and that spotlight lighting her TALENT!

@@philipdawson7800 - She actually didn't beat them in the televote though. Not that I want that to be true, but the actual votes have her just after them, but the weighted votes system gave her more points. Makes me a bit sad on all accounts.
@@MrZeuz666 Yeah, in actual votes, she was narrowly behind them, but the system did benefit her in points (that system is still a bit confusing). Still, for someone like her, it's a great feat to be neck-and-neck with a former Mello winner & last year's runner-up.
if you listen, you can hear way more than just her guitar. ie. drums stand out quite a bit. So does the accompanying vocals/moaning in the bg. As well as the string instrument(s) you can hear when she releases her guitar to dance.

I'm SO happy she got 5th!!! It's a song of soul, you don't need to understand to feel it and I love every second of it. I'm so proud of Clara and what she achieved!

Congratulations Clara!!! A relatively unknown artist, yet still ended up third from the public and fifth overall!!!
I'm pretty sure she was basically the last person announced for Mello this year. Aftonbladet revealed 26 of the 28 participants before SVT revealed them: the only 2 missing were Clara & Mustasch.
She went from an afterthought to top-5 in the final. Simply amazing!!

Lol, the other Klara's song sounded much more like Taylor Swift 😂. The chorus was literally "Never Ever Getting Back Together", even with partly overlapping lyrics on the critical notes.

I liked this song when I first heard it. So catchy but when I read the lyrics it elevated so much that I was crying. My winner and would have been winner of Eurovision 2021.
she OWNED the stage of Mello. The competitors were probably too strong for her, but she deserved a lot of respect for her performance. So far from what Sweden usually brings to Eurovision, yet so successful! It shows that there is indeed another way.

When is Sweden gonna take a risk and sing in Swedish? Y’all haven’t sent a song in Swedish since the language rule got abolished. This deserved top 2 with Dotter.
Well, the televoters put this third, while the juries put it much lower. I don’t think it’s Sweden’s fault but the juries who always underrated Swedish entries. I was hoping for this to win and voted for it many times.
Lakehouse even if the juries put Clara first she couldn’t win, cause the most basic song got all 96 televote points. Swedish public has been selecting the most basic songs almost every year. How is Lillasyster not in the final but Alvaro is? How does Robin Bengtsson win over Jon Henrik. Always the most generic songs dominate.
Last time they took a risk was in 2010 and they failed to qualify out of the semis for the first time ever. They’re still scarred for life.
Dotter was 4th place, she wasn't in the top 2
Both "it hurts" (2004) and "invincible" (2006) was in Swedish when they won SSC/Melodifestivalen. But then we decided to translate them before the competition.
The closest one in recent years have been Caroline af Ugglas (2nd) and Jon Henrik Fjällgren (2nd) (3rd) and (4th) which is the one I'm personally rooting for. Klingenström I think would need a weak year in terms of winners (like 2020), a song that is in no way weaker than this one, as well as waiting at least two years before a comeback.
Had this been selected to represent Sweden at the Eurovision, this would have been at the very top of my ranking. Just sayin’!

My favourite song this year since I heard the snippets. The fact that it is in Swedish even makes it better, and the fact that Swedish people voted for something in their language makes me hopeful, that not so soon we will hear a song from Sweden in Swedish in Eurovision.

Chances are a Swedish song would be translated. That happend quite a bit during the 00s.
Sweden has sent songs in English since 1973 and litterally only stopped for a while cause they wherent allowed too sing in English. English is practically a 2nd language in Sweden anyways
