Dave, gotta say your feeding calling and moving about is working really well, he committed, but you're right and as soon as it happened I thought the same...he wanted to see her when he crested the hill and she was there....been there done that twice this past season, a real heart-breaker for sure, but that's why they call it hunting. Your ears are red!
Another great video, Dave and Chubbs. Y'all are fine turkey hunters. After talking about pinpointing the calling spot yesterday, your last calling spot was about 25 yards or so down the hill. He knew a hen was suppose to be there. I had birds hang up for years just out of range, putt and walk away. A hen wasn't where the sound came from. That hole in the head frequency they have is some accurate stuff. lol. Got caught by surprise this year in open woods. He came to 80 saw no hen and ran. lol. I knew the outcome before it happened, but there was nowhere to run. Thanks for sharing the adventures. I really enjoy it.
Chubbs is definitely my favorite of all the people that hunt with you Dave. I Had a great season this year . Watched your videos before season started. I hunt the same style as you fellows. Great videos. I learn something new every time I hunt. Keep the videos coming. Thanks guys
Sometimes while creek fishing, a spotted bass will hit the H&H perfect and the twin hooks will double nose hole him. When this happens, he isn't coming off. Yall double nose holed that tom, he was convinced! I have a feeling that his days are few.
It's always a toss up where one top a hill but my rule is try to set up 30 yards from a roll in the terrain. Once he tops it he's dead but your right he could potentially flank left or right, which I've had happen. That's just the luck of the draw that makes it fun.
Thanks for the compliments! And I agree, it's that last part of the chess match we failed at (set up). . . and it's a part of the game you omit if you like to use decoys (that visual he needed).
Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project I don’t like a decoy Especially in timber But a feather or two may have held him up or made him charge Let me know if ur down auburn way, me and u and Wolfe may need to yep at one Awesome job on this video year me and my buddy’s are enjoying seeing it and how it really goes Matthew 10:29
I love that y'all are doing it without decoys. I use them only when the kids are with me (7 and 4 right now). It's a different game, and a real chess match without them.
You drove by a Waffle House, You don't drive by a Waffle house. Live life on the edge boys. Grill marinated chicken breast sandwich and a fried egg sandwich on toasted bread, with a little onion and mayo. Chow down and wait for the action.
Oh dang, that did hurt bad. Heck of a very entertaining hunt!! Always are too. Rewatching all of your videos, all the time!!!!

After Chubbs' explanation of where you're at around 2:25 , we were able to pinpoint your exact GPS location. lol
Ha! It just kept melting until there was nothing huh? Thought it may be helpful.
Dang it man.....that hurts!! I'm only watching the video from 4 months ago and I could feel the pain from MT.
Can't win them all!
Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project That's a fact.
Man...the way he came in and popped into full strut drumming I thought he was about to catch a case of the hamburger head!!!

Some times you just have to tip you hat to one...
that was a very nice true hunt...good job guys it was well played
@ dave owens, is that the speed bead mount? and are you using the speed beat sight or a fast fire 3?
Dave, you had better get chubbs under control he just told the whole world your exact location with those directions.
What kinda snake gaiters ya got? Im gettng too old for snake boots..too heavy.
How far would you estimate the bird was at the closest point?
My guess was 45 yards.
Dave, what type of pants are the olive green you are wearing?
Those are made by Pnuma.
Dave Owens: the Pinhoti Project Thanks Dave

I totally agree. You miss out on part of the experience with decoys.
Never add distance if your done calling, if anything get closer and shut up. That bird should have walked past you after your fly down show.
