Hi Amy and Gary! I enjoy hearing about your work. Especially the photos! Lol. Gary is so funny! Gary, start another, just one, so you are not bored 😊 Happy spring and happy stitching to you both 🌷
Amy, the progress on your new fancy lady is impressive, precisely because that upper part seems to be pretty complex. I like how it looks already! As for Gary's question, I am an -almost- monogamous stitcher, but when I have to a tedious and rather boring monochromatic dense project I also choose a small colourful one to keep the balance and the interest going - this small one is usually a biscornu, my soft spot after the fancy ladies. Enjoy a wonderful spring and happy stitching!
I, too, and a monogamous stitcher typically. I have a 12 page full coverage pattern I am working on that is 22 shades of greys, whites, and black. For each page I complete, I "reward" myself with a smaller colorful project to break up the monotony. That might help motivate you, Gary. It seems to have worked for me. I am currently 46,816 stitches done of 73,920 stitches.
Lovely pillow and finish. Gary, start a few more projects. That way if one of them bores you or it's in timeout, you can switch to another. Waldorf and Statler are great. The Muppets are not ancient - they're classic!
I believe Butterfly Port Mauve (sp?) Is going to be a stunner! I look forward to seeing your progress and then choices for fully finishing Amy❤ And great job Gary on Louis! I think it would be great to have another piece to switch over to when the monochromatic has taken its' toll.
So good to see you and love that you are broadening my horizons agriculturally and in the Action Figure genre...love the video ending! Amy, love the pillow as is and Gary, go for another small project so you have a choice in what you work on. I tend to be a monogamist stitcher with only one large project but I do have multiple small ones kitted and ready to start when that big piece just isn't calling. Take care and Happy Spring!
Hi Amy and Gary. Glad to hear that you are having a”real” spring. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Butterfly is really looking good! Louis Armstrong is great, but start another smaller project as a sort of palette cleanser. I have about 10 WIPS, but I try to keep a couple of smalls going. When I finish one it’s really satisfying.
My opinion I would start another project so you can switch between the two. Enjoyed watching your video and seeing your progress. Have a wonderful Friday and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Yes, Gary you need to throw a small in with Louie, he is going to be a masterpiece when finished, but I enjoy those small finishes, gives me joy to have a finish with larger projects. What awesome projects you are working on. Love your small Rabbit stitch, fun to stitch something in season to break up those very large projects. Your finish is great the way it is! Enjoy both and always interested to hear about your work.
Would be great for Gary to start another design, I enjoy seeing his stitching! Amy, your finished cushion is so pretty, love your fabric choice! Take care, enjoy your stitching!
I had to put my stitching down when you did the impersonations for the Muppet Show OGs. Bwahahahhaha. Your interactions are fabulous! Love the action figures, and that is an understatement. Thank you for sharing your projects and lives and cannot wait to see more of the action figures family.....
Your videos are always a treat both because of your projects and your interactions about life, traveling and stitching. Gary, go ahead and start another project or two. That way you can choose a project that suits your mood. Take care both of you!
Hi! Oh love the pillow finish, sweet.looks great as is! Lol he is so funny, but I agree until the clearance section. Sure Gary start another more colourful, I am doing a full coverage with multitudes beige, beige greys browns and I too get tired so then go to one of my other 23 wips. Great allocades from Gary and agree hard work for sure. Lol the Louis vs Loowie is comical! You guys are great.❤see you next time!
Lovely finish on the Waxing moon small…I like it as it is. Gary, you might be finding that there isn’t enough colour in your stitchy life…perhaps a small that is colourful would balance things out for you.
Hi Gary - Hi Amy Gary - If I was you I would start another small easier project. This way you can work on the easier simpler project when you get tired of working on Louie Armstrong WIP. All of your WIPS Gary & Amy is looking great. Amy - I miss seeing the Rose Trellis Inn. I just love this one. You are making great progress on Rose Of Sharon Amy. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵☕️❤️
Singer Dolly Parton said one is just a rhinestone away from classy to trashy. That probably applies to finishing cross stitch items. Gary, start a small, simple project. That will give you something to break the intense stitching on that beautiful large Armstrong project.
Cute pillow. I love all of your WIPs. I cant decide my favorite! Your fancy lady FFO from a couple of weeks ago is gorgeous I have 4 WIPs. I put one away since it’s for Christmas. So now rotating between 3 small pieces. It’s working out because It’s not too overwhelming for me. I’m just hoping to actually finish one someday soon😂. All that to say yes, start another project. 😅 Also, I think I heard those two old guys on the side table heckling me just now! 😂. Haha ha Love Statler and Waldorf.
Your bunny/egg cart looks great on that fabric. Gary, I enjoy seeing your progress on Louis. My vote is that you stay a monogamous stitcher, since that is what YOU enjoy. A friend has been pressed to stitch more, instead of being monogamous. This has put pressure on my friend and the fun has gone out of stitching for this person.😢 Reading the comments, boy I’m an odd duck out of water. But again I’ve seen the pressure to stitch several items take the joy away from my friend.
It's sad that your friend isn't enjoying stitching anymore because they feel pressured to have multiple projects. I don't know if they do Flosstube, but I get the sense that happens to some people when they start making videos because they feel like they need to have a ton of variety to keep viewers interested. At the end of the day, you have to stitch in the way that gives you joy, regardless of what anyone else thinks you should do.
I love watching your videos. You both are so talented in your stitching and your professions. Gary I think it might help you to start something small to boost your enthusiasm for stitching and motivate you to work more on Louis Armstrong. It is progressing well. Your Rose of Sharon is gorgeous. Your finish of Waxing Moon Crow is perfect, nothing more is needed. I always look forward to your next video!!! Happy Easter!
Gary, if you start 6 more projects then you can change often and not get bored. Go for it, start 10 more even. Amy, lovely projects and your little pillow is wonderful.
I know I could never be a monogamous stitcher, but am starting to narrow down what I work on at any given time. Boredom is a big reason why I won't be monogamous - so yes, Gary, if you're getting the tiniest bit bored, having a back up will help keep you going. I'd hate to see you put it down and not get back to it for a while without other progress to show.
You have the cutest little finished pillow ….just darling! Hand finishing is (or can be)quite tedious, and it turned out quite darling. I like little mini pillows. When I see how cute they turn out, I want to make a WHOLE BUNCH!!! My bathroom is white , but it has pink adornments scattered about. I am working on a a collection of roses mostly done in shades of pink to hand upon my white wall in the bathroom. I’m monogamous and sometimes it makes me sleepy and I dose off! (I don’t like the word boring ) so Gary must not say that anymore . Ha! He’s so talented to be bored. And cross stitch brings so much joy. So Gary, just say you occasionally get sleepy. You guys are great. I love you both on your channel. Gary, you better be happy and glad you married your wife!! I know you are. She is absolutely beautiful w/ her curly thick hair and darling smile. She is definitely one of those pretty ladies she is stitching. Bye!
Hi Amy and Gary! It was great to hear about your job Amy, and even lovelier to hear Garys pride in you. I hope that you get to rest up a little now the massive project is over. I've been in a bit of a funk stitching wise. It may be decision fatigue over having too many wips😂. Might be time for a bit of monogamous stitching!
Thanks, Sarah. Gary has always been one of my biggest cheerleaders. I'm a very lucky lady! Normally, I would say you should combat a stitching slump by starting something new, but your strategy of monogamy is probably a more sound one. LOL! I also find that a little stitchy splurge can reenergize my stitching bug because I get all excited about new projects, even if they will just sit patiently waiting for me to get to them for 5 years. I just updated my wishlist this week, and I'm teetering on the edge of buying 8 new Brenda Gervais patterns. I have a problem!
Thank you for the video. I love your pillow finish it is elegant and balanced, adding more would detract from the cross stitch. Gary should find a pattern to work alongside the black that has more colors, so he doesn't get bored. I always enjoy your video his action figure collection is getting to match my sissor collection. I have to not take my husband to the stoe with me, or he buys me a new pair, and i keep giving them away so i don't drowned.
Thank you both for your video. Gary your thoughts on Amy's pillow were exactly my own and you put it so well😂 I think you may find a second small project with colour quite useful to have ,just as you say to break up the monotony. Amy fancy lady is looking so fancy especially now she has a head and torso. Don't be modest , You do an amazing job ,you are a hybrid ,I know you don't like to blow your own trumpet, leave that to Gary and Louis😂. Organisation and management is a necessity I would think and goes hand in hand with the agricultural specialists. You can't have one without the other. You also both do PhD work daily (project half done, so much nicer than WIP). I am so excited I know those 2 characters on the table ,happy dance. Hugs to Sophie and Bear. See you both soon.
Oh my goodness! I've never heard PhD interpreted as "project half done", but that's hilarious and I love it. Also true in both stitching and academia. Hahaha.
Gary, yes, start something else to keep yourself stitching when you need a break from Louis Armstrong (which is looking good, by the way. And Amy, your stitching and projects are beautiful!
Your husband is hilarious. I love the Easter Peep Parade on a fabric different from dark brown. I love this pattern but have hesitated purchasing because of the dark fabric.
I agree with you on the dark fabric in the Easter Peep Parade sample photo. It kept me from buying it for a long time. It just didn't work for me. Once I got the idea to stitch it on pink or yellow, it got added to my stash pretty quickly. :)
Hi Amy and Gary! I enjoy hearing about your work. Especially the photos! Lol. Gary is so funny! Gary, start another, just one, so you are not bored 😊 Happy spring and happy stitching to you both 🌷

❤️ you guys!! Yes, Gary go for it! Love hearing about your job! You two take care! Love your silliness!
Sending you hugs!

The votes are in! No pom-poms. 😂

Go for it Gary

Thank you! 😊
Gary I think you should have another couple of projects of contrasting colours, styles and difficulties.
I find that sometimes I need a break from bigger projects. A small stitch will be like a pallet cleanser.

Thanks, Linda! You'll see Rose Trellis Inn in our next video! I'm really looking forward to working on it. Glad you enjoy seeing it!
I think smalls are a great pallet cleanse when working on a big piece

This comment is amazing! Dolly Parton! LOL!
Gary I think you should start a 2nd or maybe even a 3rd project! Love your videos as always. Happy Easter.
Great video again, I think Gary should start a new project, the variety will keep his interest. Loved all of the WIPs x
Gary should start another one yo break the boredom on Louis Armstrong! Love your pillow and no pompoms ! Tks for sharing your updates!
The votes are in! No pom-poms. 😂
I always enjoy you guys so much! Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives!

You are a bad influence on Gary. Hahahaha!
Your bunny/egg cart looks great on that fabric.

Gary seems to be getting popular.
I agree with Gary no pom-poms on your cushion as it is lovely without them. Your work sounds very interesting.

Oh my goodness, where did you get Statler and Waldorf from? Love it!
I asked Gary about this, but he got them so long ago that he no longer remembers. :(
Yes start another one one color can get boring
I think Gary should start something new if he is bored. If you don't enjoy the stitching... you won't stitch! Enjoy seeing all your projects!
