Hello! My name is Vasilisa. I hail from Vladivostok, Russia, where I was born and lived until the age of 23. After that, I spent several years residing in various Asian cities such as Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, and Bali. After my travels, I returned to Russia to look at it from a different perspective...

Hello Lisa. Been to this place a couple of times to help my Russian friends decide on which car to buy... It was really cool when they found out I am from Texas and gave me and my friends the royal treatment and to show me around and provided us tea and chocolate 😊... Also I highly recommend doing a road trip across Russia. In the summer of 2021, I rode my Harley across Russia starting from Vladivostok I rode to Sochi, across the Kerch bridge into Crimea which is an adventure in itself. Rode back across the bridge and then along the border north to Moscow.. My Russian friends said I was crazy because I don't speak Russian and I made the bike trip alone.. Had no problems at all not even with the road police.. People I met along the way were shocked but yet ecstatic to find out I'm from Texas and living in Vladivostok. Even received a couple of marriage proposals when they found out that I am not married 😂
wow crazy, without Russian, across Russia on the bike! You are brave! But you are right, if something happen people will help you, Russia is not wild lol
I absolutely 💯 agree and confirm about the wonderful Russian people. I have worked and lived around the world. Met many friendly people and cultures, But none of them has come close to Russians, who I believe are the most welcoming, friendly and helpful people in the world. And I am not saying this because I am currently living in Russia. I highly encourage people to come visit Russia and see for themselves how amazing the country and people are here... I have been visiting Vladivostok for over 20 years and fell in love with the city, the beauty of the far east and the people. I had decided when I retired I would move to Vladivostok and have not regretted it for the almost 5 years I have been living here.. I volunteer at an English school just to keep busy after my retirement and meet the most amazing people and made even more amazing friends.... You know there are not many expats from the west in this small city. I think there are only about 6 of us here. Might be an interesting story to tell about why we came here to live. I'm probably sure you know one of them that happens to own a coffee shop in the city center.
Great research LISA LOVES YOU ❤️😍 KIAORA FROM NEW ZEALAND
Buy a Yugo, Lisa.😂
😂 sounds about right
Russians are really resourceful people. They know how to get the most for their money and work around regulations.
I think Russia is very well placed to become an economic growth engine. Much better placed than most western countries.
Some nightlife would be good for future videos. How do people in Vladivostok like to have their own kind of fun?
russia is definitely not an economic engine 😅
Maybe with a few changes at the top, move away from a military economy, and a more productive civil economy.
@@j.4332with NATO next-door, Russia is condemned to always militarize itself

Thank you Lisa. Your Vladivostok looks similar to some of out Northeast cities in America. I also see that you are wearing a jacket in July. Must be a little cold there. Over here in Florida we are dealing with temperatures close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cars here especially the used ones are very expensive also. Our economy is not doing very good.
Have a wonderful day and thanks again for another wonderful video.
It’s very foggy here in Vladivostok in June due to the maritime climate, mainly in Russia it’s much warmer 🌿🌻 thanks for watching and see you soon
July = June
Yes, the climate in Vladivostok is foggy in early summer, it is worth leaving the city for 20 km and there is already another climate.)))
Hi Lisa the Russian. How are you today? I missed you. Have a great summer. ❤🇷🇺
I am great!! hope you too! miss you all 👼
Sanctions don't work. Iran, Cuba have been under sanctions way longer than Russia and I personally know you can buy almost anything there, from an iPhone (jail breaked) to a Mercedes-Benz. This is how it works: Country A puts sanctions on Country B. Country B buys through Country C (through Middle Men). Country A sanctions/threatens Country C. Country B and Country C now buy through Country D....you get the point. There is ALWAYS someone willing to make some good money. This game continues until either Country A has sanctioned EVERYONE (therefore isolating itself and reverse-sanctioning itself!) or the sanctions are lifted off. It's a game were nobody wins. Only the middle men who make a quick buck win, but the populations of ALL countries lose!
you are correct explaining the chain 😅 with this long chain of logistics it is more expensive for us Russians.. it is annoying but sanctions are avoidable...
@@lisa_with_loveit's not sanctions, why are you misleading and entertaining this person who clearly doesn't understand sanctions on russia, comparing to Iran shows he has no idea what he is talking about 👍🏻
Just like what Ian Malcolm said in Jurassic Park “life finds a way”
Sanctions against states can only be imposed by the UN, these are not sanctions, but restrictions of a number of countries against one, and from the point of view of international law they are illegal!
Ah yes, Cuba and Iran, economic powerhouses of the world... not.
Hey, lovely Lisa! Thanks for your incredible work! As far as I heard there is lots of seafood in Vladivostok and in region in general. Perhaps a variety of freshly caught seafood, the restaurants and so on could be the thing to film?👍😉
yes of course, but I wouldn’t say that seafood is the cheapest food here, I will do Vladivostok guide and I will try to include info about it

Lisa, that was a great video. I like the fact that a person buying a car saves money and the importer/seller makes a lot of money. It's a win win situation for everyone.
The other day I read that there is a new version of the 'Volga' car available that is similar to a vehicle manufactured by Chang'an Automobile Co., Ltd.
Currently. the Russian economy is growing due to the export of oil to China and India.
Also, electronic products manufactured in China are available in Russian shops at very competitive prices!
So Lisa, have you purchased any Chinese gadgets? 💻📱📻 🎮
When I was in Hong Kong, I loved going to Apliu Street in Sham Shui Po because there were so many electronic products available! Such an amazing experience!
This is a great video, loved finding out about the importing of vehicles and other goods, well done .

Great video Lisa... you so lovely🥰
Hi Vasilisa. Very interesting new video today. It shows how meaningless sanctions are. British sanctions against Russia seem to do more harm to Britain where we have massive price increases ( stupid brexit hasn't helped either ). It is amazing determination that people will drive a car all that way back to Moscow. Google maps says that is 120 hours of driving!
Yes sanctions make our life more complicated but they are avoidable… 🤝 car trip across Russia will take 7-14 days depends how many hours you drive daily 🤣
One very lucrative side of rail industry would be the vehicles rail transporter as we have here in the UK.
I love Lisa's laugh lol
Hello lise with love from sweden, malmö :D
We treasure and restore Ladas and Nivas! Like the Citroen 2CV, you can cross from UK all the way to Argentina and find friends along the way! One day at a time is easy. Luxury cars are only appreciated if they are the latest model, because they don't age well and electronic parts are not easy to replace, even losing your keys is a problem, So it is best to buy new, then sell and add a bit for the latest one every two years.
👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗
Nice video... Enjoyed. ..
thank you 🙏

Hello Lisa. Just waking up Friday morning 😮. Turn on my UA-cam. Poof, Lisa's video.😅. Watching the cars for sale. I looked uo the distance from Vladivostok to Moscow. In the standard system. Its about 5,591 Milles 8998 km.
Exactly! Almost 9000 KM! Glad you liked the video 🌿
The Korean and Japanese car companies know a business bonanza when they see it. They will not kill their enterprises like the western ones did. My parents have become Korean car 🚗 devotees, just like your parents are to Japanese ones. They have a Hyundai hybrid SUV and is the most cost-effective vehicle in these times of sanctions and inflation. Keep these videos coming and love, from Cheonan, South Korea 🇰🇷.
Great to hear 🤝✨ guys from this market recommended Japanese cars because they said it is easy to repair and low maintenance
She toured a second hand car market.
Russia is getting its supply of new cars via parallel imports through Kazakhstan and other Central Asian nations.
Many western cars used to be made in Russia.
These companies left and the factories are producing Chinese cars or Russian cars like Moskvich.

Hi Lisa
Hello Lisa! This was a very interesting video. I'm not surprised by transport fees, as that can be expensive. However, what does this process of car buying entail? Credit checks? Down-payments? Insurance? Is it the same as in the west? Thanks for the great content. 🙂

Video comparing Vladivostok to Moscow, showing pros and cons
Having worked in the motor industry in the 1990's in the repair side, one of my main concern's is obtaining car parts.
See as I know Vladivostok is major hub for importing cars from the far east, what is the Russian brands, Lada and Moskva are doing to fill the void for the other side of Russia?
That is a top question that should be answered by them.
hey lisa how are you, make more videos about the Russian far east because many youtubers make video about moscow and st petersburg do it a little different make more videos about far east and the cities which are less famous.
yes of course, this month at least while I am here I will post about Far East life
and come to india some day, it's a unique place and you will feel good after all russians are treated really well in india, come visit
🌹🎈♥️Happy donut day!🍩🍩🍩
Was the vehicle license plate with AAA and 888 on it a reference to the poker hand Wild Bill Hickok held when he was shot and killed? A poker hand of aces and eights is called the "Dead Man's Hand." Perhaps, despite having the wealth to afford such an expensive vehicle, it didn't buy him happiness and still felt dead inside. It takes more than money to thaw a person's ice cold soul. Or am I reading too much into it? If a cigar is sometimes still just a cigar, maybe a license plate is just a license plate.❤😊🌹🥀
Hello! That is very interesting! It might be a poker sign why not 🕵🤗👍
The cars you saw in Moscow were probably not old second hand cars from Japan or South Korea but new cars imported via Kazakhstan, Georgia etc.
It is a public policy in Russia.
The government policy is called Parallel Imports in English - don't know the Russian term.
Parallel imports are not counterfeit. The law permits vendors to work exclusively with authentic products obtained through alternative supply channels.
I had hoped that as a Russian living in Russia you would know.
People having nothing to do with Russia know it from the news and those like me who understands the world would know even if nobody mentioned in any media.
I know about parallel import, in this video I just cover how we do it here in Vladivostok, thanks for watching
After these cars enter Russian market they may be legalized buy the government but these cars are sold without trademark owner's consent, illegally sold by the 3hd party to Russian vendors. But of course carmakers will not complain because its the money they only care about, they sell more cars and most importantly they have no responsibility at all for 36/60K miles services. Sold illegally, no warranty, its just good business for carmakers
@@rokimarchano5657 The warranty work is done by dealers. If the Kazakh dealer is exporting cars to Russia, he might still offer after sales support. I don't know what is happening, but just saying.
The other most likely thing is the old Korean and Japanese dealers inside Russia are continuing to import parts through parallel import and servicing the cars in Russia.
Unlike defense equipment, no one will chase car makers for selling cars in Kazakhstan that will end up inside Russia.
As for Japanese and Korean second hand cars, they will probably not get any warranty.
It is just that Japanese and Korean car owners are getting a higher price when they sell to buy new cars than they used to get before.
@@lisa_with_love I didn't mean to be hard on you. It is just that Western dudes, particularly Americans living in their propaganda bubble can't be expected to think for themselves. Your reference to the cars in Moscow without mentioning parallel import and sanctions busting will misdirect them.
@@urldroidsuperbot2139 Not really the case, the cost at dealership is transferred to car manufacturers by dealer who performed repairs, parts and labor or any other cost that may occur during the repairers. Every car manufacturer in the US/EU is required to provide a minimum 2 years bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Last year in April Mazda introduced a 6-year warranty for its new cars sold in the EU, 6 years or 150,000 km whichever comes first, if any of these new Mazda cars end up in Russia via Kazakhstan they will lose these warranties, that’s what I was talking about.
Dealers in Russia may offer warranty on these cars but at the end consumer will end up paying for these warranties, that’s why US/EU cars are 15-30% more expensive in Russia than in the US or EU and that’s why now Russian government is cracking down on parallel imports to protect consumers.
In May 2022 Russia legalized parallel imports to fill the gap and keep car market from complete collapse but in 2024 the situation is totally different, the market is stabilized and now Russia wants to get rid of it trough commercial utilization fees on vehicle imports into EEU for the purpose of resale meaning businesses have to pay taxes to the destination country.
In just few months many car dealers in EEU countries will go bankrupt and honestly, I don’t think Russia is doing this to protect consumers its more like protecting Chinese carmakers and their brands in Russia while getting rid of the US/EU cars for good
Very interesting Lisa. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! See you soon 🌻

So many used JDM cars in far east Russia, for me this is something usual weird thing where RHD cars on right handed traffic 🥴 and on contrary normal LHD cars became minority in far east Russia.
I think it feels like driving LHD cars in Indonesia where the traffic on the left side 😖 Also I said Vladivostok similar like Batam city in Indonesia where they were allowed to imported used cars from Singapore or Malaysia during 2000s era without import duties but these cars not allowed to left Batam city and also they got special license plates letter to identify, however today whole Indonesian provinces no longer allowed to imports used cars anymore. So right now we only allowed to imports brand new car or unregistered cars from their origin places.
thats interesting! thanks for your comment 🌿
You explain the car market in vladivostok so nice and exactly. Its a pitty, that I can not see old russian cars, for example the UAZ Jeep, Volga, GAZ 21 with deer, Moskvich. The new cars looks like all equal, the parts of the car are from one or two world producer. In West Countries we collect such nice old exponats - not only cars, among other things, as historical old russian shares, zars koye Selo Railway, or Morosov Twersk Cattun Manufactur with origin signs of the founder, russian Weapons Mosin Nagant
Far East drives mostly Japanese, if you in Moscow and western part of Russia you would see a lot of Russian cars 🙏
