- Four wheel drives are everywhere in Australia, from farms, to cities and increasingly beaches.
But often there's a lack of education about where to drive, and how to adapt to certain conditions.
Producer Chris Lewis takes you to the Western Australian coast to see the impact Australia's top selling vehicle can have on our beaches.

Good, well balanced video. We should all take care of our beautiful coastline, whilst having the freedom to use and enjoy it.
Nice to see an ABC upload with the comment sections actually open, doesn't happen all that often unfortunately and when comments sections are closed I just move on .
Hahah love the buy the old cruiser a beer and ask him how it’s down advice
Have a look at Stockton beach.. it’s been shredded.
20PSI is miles too high... I pretty much live on the beach... never been stuck yet
Nature is constantly changing but people are always trying to stop it from changing and get upset when it does. One decent storm changes it more than a year of human use.
A lot of talk to driving responsibly but no references as to what that is other than lowering the pressure in the tires.
The government should bring in a new 4wd tax and use the money to help prop up big oil companies.
😂 nice greens puff peice....
All I got is its bad but if your fishing it's OK 😂😂😂
I think all things considered... with our insatiable appetite for mining and selling off minerals, oil and gas all of which have to be mined whilst largely burning coal to produce energy... beach driving is a very small threat to our lifestyle.
Just another attempt to restrict our already limited freedoms in this country.
