Damn. You surprise me every time. I never noticed the symbol was blue, or that Heather had a favorite sheakspare quote. But my favorite is always going to be "it's bread"
The song from silent hill 3 "End of small sanctuary" is about heather being in the mall and the mall is the end of her sanctuary, the end of her being safe.
One thing I've always noticed about the moonstone was that in order to get it, the walnut had to be destroyed and discarded. I would assume this to be in relation to the birth of god leading to Heather's death, but it could be viewed as a metaphor for real life childbirth if you will. On a different note, maybe it's because SH3 was the very first Silent Hill game I played, but the mall still stands as the location that disturbs me the most out of the entire series. I've always felt unnerved by closed shopping centers in real life, but now whenever I enter a mall I can only think of SH3 and Dead Rising.
Dang, it really just hit me what you said - you're absolutely right. To get the moonstone the walnut is destroyed - and for god to be born, Heather has to die. It's definitely meant to correlate. Nice catch!
Ivrats Dargy i think the first location any player goes to stands out. For me it's the apartment building in SH2, it creeps me out to no end. Still does 15 years later
Maybe Vincent was responsible for putting the symbol in blue? Even though he's not met until the Hilltop Center, Vincent could have been present at the mall. Being a priest in the order, he would have knowledge of the symbol and what putting it in blue means. Even though he is no friend to Heather, he shares her goal in not wanting that monstrous god being born.
Good eye on the blue symbol ! My guess is that Alessa (or rather Heather's true subconscious self) put it there. We already felt her presence earlier in the level through that one static TV screen, and maybe this is a way of revolting against the cult.
Something about the moonstone in the nut puzzle just kinda popped into my mind, it seems to kinda mirror Heathers pendant and the Aglaophotis pill inside it. Both round containers with a small sphere inside them, only one being the beginning of her carrying god, the other it being expelled. Also connected with that, taking the context of the symbol and poem on the door meaning pregnancy it kinda looks like the crescent moon is the outline of an ovum and the moonstone a sperm.
The sigil of the sun in blue make the effects reverse so maybe it would be a sigil of the moon which would fit the dark red bloody crescent moon on the door below the reversed sigil of the sun also each character in this game is tied to a tarot card symbolically the character who represents the moon is Vincent Smith and the card symbolism fits well with him. His role in the game is that he doesn't want the end of the world to come because that would mean he would be in his words "inconvenienced and its birth might be unpredictable" I would definitely suspect that Vincent was the one who put the blue sigil of the sun above the door because he would seem like the type of person who would trick or bribe someone to do it for him but most likely they died before finishing it because the circle looks smudged and the symbols are missing or blurred and most likely the moon stone would've powered the circle and help solve the bloody moon door puzzle killing two birds with one stone it's a very good guess as to what happened with the bloody moon door puzzle
I never get tired of these analysis videos. There's so much to Silent Hill. You can pick it apart and still find something new through each playthrough.
I remember mentioning the blue symbol and the note to my cousin, but we completely left it at that. At that point I thought it was someone other than the cult, like some third party, or Alessa. But I completely left it at that and kept going. But it makes me wonder if it was a reflection of Alessa within Heather that made that symbol, and not Heather herself
I always assumed that the whole stage line was about Heather playing the role of Heather, as opposed to being who she really is. You know. Rejecting who she is so far because shes afraid, but also still putting up the facade of a normal girl.
haunting ground also has moths u need to get rid of in the very first levels in the game. and given how the game was called demento in japan ur moths analysis goes hand in hand with how moths symbolize madness and insanity. i hope u do an analysis on that one as it has a lot to unravel and barely anyone has done any analysis on it. i admire ur videos and ur passion put into them :)
My take on the Blue Halo. Valtiel is actually a manifestation of the city's will and oposses the cult's attempt to create a demon with its power, therefore, painting a Blue halo in an attempt to curse the blasphemous cult's attempt to create their god. This kinda also explains why Valtiel appears to heather, guiding her home via the otherworld in an attempt to help her defeat the order and reversing time to revive her should she die. Because as you said in other Video, The town will always protect children, and heather is still a child. Also, maybe Valtiel covering the monster Claudia turns into is an act of respect to the fact that the town orchestrated an infanticide to protect the rest of the world.
Valtiel was my thought as well - it could be a lot of things, and there's few clear signs, but my gut says Valtiel makes the most sense, especially if you follow the argument that he could be serving Heather's interests rather than Claudia's.
thegamingmuse Maybe the Memory of Alessa put it there? She POSSIBLY could be shadowing Heather as well, or maybe even ORDERED Valtiel to stalk her/put up the blue halo. Sound credible?
@@ghostlightningboi5618 That's a possibility too, especially since Alessa basically says later in a note after the boss fight with her that she was trying to stop the birth of god. It's possible she, and maybe Valtiel serving her, tried to stop the pregnancy in more peaceful ways, before going the violent route near the end when it seemed all hope was lost.
Wow I never notice the blue symbol on top!!!! good eye!!! as for who or why it might be there...hmm....I know this sounds stupid but maybe it's silent hill. Not the other world, Silent Hill. In SH2 and The room, the town is shown to be it's own sort of entity. Perhaps birthed from the suffering and power of Alessa. And since Heather is the reincarnation of Alessa, the "spirit" of Silent hill would want to help Heather who is unjustly dragged into the hell scape of other world and into the plans of Claudia and her efforts to bring god into the world. It put the blue symbol above the entry way in an effort to prevent the pregnancy from happening. Either by stopping Heather from being violated and impregnated or to stop the implanted fetus from beginning to grow. Didn't work obviously lol. Anyways there's my dumb theory! great vid btw!
I believe the town is actively screwing up the order's schemes and Used valtiel as a proxy to do so in 3, while it actually gave henry a way to fight Walter via the holes.
I know I joked about Silent Hill Symbolism: Bread. But hear me out Is it possibly a Christ allegory? I. E. The transubstantion of Catholicism in which the eating Jesus' body on the form of bread creates a closeness to the Messiah in much the same way that Heather possesses God inside of her?
This isn't the first time a Silent Hill protag has gone into an Otherworldly mall, nor is it the first time they faced a worm like creature. I posit the idea, that it was Harry himself who drew the blue symbol. The Otherworld Harry. A Ghost, not unlike those strange omniscient notes of Silent Hill 2. Playing the role of the one positive force in the whole of Heather's journey, not unlike Cheryl did during Harry's. And just as this level foreshadowed the intent of God's birth, it foreshadows the end-- Where Heather kills God with the help of Harry's forethought.
I really, really like this idea. Especially since we see his death bed, but he's no longer there... I've long wanted to discuss the theory that he was still around somewhere but never did and this is a nice touch to it.
I think you mean "PlayStation, PC, or Xbox" not just "PlayStation". Even if you don't count the use of emulation as a reason to announce it on PC as an emulator is a virtual console, Silent Hill 3 was on PC back in the day and there was the HD Collection with 2 and 3 on PS3 and the 360. Anyway, I thought the symbol was in black, but if it's in blue, I think Vincent would the most likely culprit. He knows about this stuff and he doesn't want it to happen.
Bread. Rhythms with dead. Yet bread starts off full of life in the form of of yeast only to be cast into flame for the enjoyment of higher beings. Their own personal hell, doomed to repeat over and over again for eternity.
This video reminds me of a ling dead UA-cam channel called queenofheadless that had a very detailed analysis playlist of Silent Hill 2 I wish it still existed somewhere 😢
I always had a doubt about this place, though. Actually, many doubts lol But this one actually fits with something you said on the video: If the mall is a normal place and Claudia forced the otherworld into it, who's the lady killed by the first "Closer" monster that Heather encounters inside a clothing store? Are we already in the otherworld at this moment? If so, do you think this lady somehow managed to get to the otherworld too, just like Heather did?
By the way muse, just before entering the normal elevator that leads to the otherworld elevator. Read the names on the plaques in the doors of the corridors. There are some weird names like "Ygdrasil" and like "Tirn Ail"
Yggdrasil is a tree from Norse mythology that is said to connect nine different "worlds". Since it connects Midgard (the world of men) to other realms, it makes sense for an otherworld elevator.
Hi TGM, i dont want to be a cause of consern, but after watching a bendy theory, some commenter warned about some hackers called project zoro or domething threatening to destroy youtube november 3rd. I think it's fake since they announced this ON youtube and no one has made a greater fuzz about this, but i just wanted to warn just in case so you can make backups of your episodes or post them elsewhere so everything isnt lost due to some petty hackers.
Next on Silent Hill Symbolism: Bread
Honestly I would be stoked
Freshly baked
Damn. You surprise me every time. I never noticed the symbol was blue, or that Heather had a favorite sheakspare quote.
But my favorite is always going to be "it's bread"
I didn't even notice the blue halo when I recently started playing this game lol
It’s bread
Rivals her father's tear-jerking and hearfelt quote: "Bible."
It's bread
It’s bread
The song from silent hill 3 "End of small sanctuary" is about heather being in the mall and the mall is the end of her sanctuary, the end of her being safe.
And, her virginity as well
This is my favorite music eveeeeer ♥️

Came here to make this connection myself. Glad someone beat me to it.
Yesss that makes so much sense glad people still talking about this
Vincent is the most likely answer, I agree. Unless Douglas is secretly into some woowoo shit lol
Good eye on the blue symbol ! My guess is that Alessa (or rather Heather's true subconscious self) put it there. We already felt her presence earlier in the level through that one static TV screen, and maybe this is a way of revolting against the cult.
Wow, I've never even NOTICED that blue halo of the sun before, good job pointing that out.
Me neither and I completed all those original four games at least five times over each. Easy to miss!
Same here.
I always saw the worm as a sort of representation of an infant coming out of a birth canal.
weird

Here’s something I’ve found out in Silent Hill. The Other World has a fetish for abandoned hospitals
I never get tired of these analysis videos. There's so much to Silent Hill. You can pick it apart and still find something new through each playthrough.
Who would wonder that shilent hill is still alive after its really games won't come out no more but still i love this now i know more

Loved ur reasoning!
Please do more content ! I know it’s old but this game NEVER FADES….
Mmmmm.... delicious 3-layer metaphor cake is my favorite :P
Wow the blue halo of the sun is sooooo cool i never noticed that!!!! I wonder who did it 😮
Silent hill has been getting pretty popular in the past months~
the three layers of a play / life and Heather's life ending when we turn off the console. VERY INTERESTING ANALOGY
Thank you for making these videos!! I have been obsessed with silent hill for years. I appreciate you for doing this!

Could blue halo be a manifestation of Harry's desire to protect his daughter?
I love this music. "Ephemereal bliss": its sounds happy and sublime ❣️
Love you and your work you inspire me.

This was your best one so far in my opinion.
I've been binging these videos while at work. Subbed! I hope to see hour long videos in the future
Thank you so much for making these videos!
You really gonna make me dig out my old copy of silent hill three just to leave the game on indefinitely so i know heather doesnt have to die?
The moon in the puzzle itself also looks like a pregnant stomach and above it is the blue halo of the the sun which is supposed to stop the demon.
A Leonard and Vincent video would be great. Both are very interesting characters.
Do Eileen Galvin
Neber noticed the halo above the moon door. Thats really interesting
I love your videos your voice matches the silent hill games you talk about beautiful but a little haunting (no offense)
Thank you! :D I'm glad you like my work, and my voice, even if I didn't have to work for that last one. XD

Am i the only one that sees a Black Halo of the Sun Symbolising the Darkness beyond the Door. The Dark world and Dark Heather.
What symbolism has the Blue colour?
This was fantastic!
By the way muse, just before entering the normal elevator that leads to the otherworld elevator.

Wow, I remember playing this game back in 04 when it released on ps2. Good research fellow silent hill fan.
"It's Bread"
Do Douglas, please.
IT'S BREAD!
Would you happen to know the song playing throughout the video? Also, great SH videos.
"Emphemeral Bliss" from Broken Notes Studios.
thegamingmuse Thanks you!
It's bread
The blue symbol was probably made by Alyssa
But hey I can be wrong
I always thought Heather was cute
Hm strange, 300 days seems a bot long for pregnancy
An average pregnancy is about 280 days, but many go longer (or shorter).
Lamps
Tirn Ail
Tir nA [nog]
I feel like I'm going back in time wen I listen to your voice xo
I am bread
Does anyone else think Heather's run is weird?
