I got this cuz of Dan's solo playthrough of this on Game Grumps. Love the story of this soo much

Tim Curry, Mark Hamill, Michael Dorn. So many awesome people in it. Gabriel knight is one of my most favorite Sierra Games that I do own. Also a reason why I did buy the 20th anniversery edition. Wishing for a 4th game of it. Jane Jensen did some great story there.
Who else is playing this in 2020? I am 😂 Love, love it!
I played it this year. The remake. And although I enjoyed it very much, I missed Curry and Hamill's voice overs very much. :(
Just finished playing it with my girlfriend, we had a blast! And luckily the internet avaliable for the few times we got stuck
I played it back in.... ‘96? Never beat it tho. Glad to watch the Let’s Plays

Tim Curry as Gabriel Knight is as perfect a Gabriel Knight can be. Sequels can't even compare.

@@crypastesomemore8348 yes.. Curry reprised the role in Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned when the series went from the FMV of The Beast Within to 3d cg renders.

Love this, brings me back to so many memories and fun playing GK 1!
I loved this game. I wish they would bring back all of the Gabriel Knight games ported over to currrent game systems and PCs. They were some of the best storytelling experiences in a game.
They released a really good HD-reboot of Sins of the Fathers last year.
GOG.com has all three original Gabriel Knight games plus the Sins of the Fathers reboot for sale. These are all able to run on Win Vista through 10 via DOSbox (installs with the game). So, basically, you can have your wish!
"Over a year" was a long development time for video games in the past? Wow, that's like 3 weeks nowadays.
ive never clocked this game yet, but i love how well the lip sync is on this for the portrait convos. good lip sync was a rare thing back then.

It's such a shame that the original recordings were lost.
You still get the original game with all the classic dialogues (e.g. on GOG or Steam).
they weren't lost lol- you can play the original game if you want with them
They were lost in the sense that they didn't have high quality original copies so had to re-record all the dialogue with different actors for the remake.
@@blootor True, although I think I recall hearing that they wouldn't have been allowed to use them even if they were available.
Both tim and Mark played in Amadeus as Mozart too

It's interesting to note that not only did Mark Hamill voice The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, Efrem Zimbalist, Jr is Alfred Pennyworth.
Tim Curry . . . Mark Hamill . . . Batman The Animated series' first choice for Joker . . . . and then the 2nd choice they ended up going with.

i love how tim curry got the biggest shout out if you will, compared to mark hamill, yet its mark hamill who's now a voiceover legend these days, thanks to being an awesome version of the joker. the force is strong with this one i sense does i...sense...in the force....ahem.

I use to like Gabriel knight ii beast within until I realize it had gay moments in it. It ruins it. The first one is good. Second one okay.
Yes, after the initial irritations about the changes in the depiction of the characters i really liked the second one, too. Sadly the third was unplayable though.
@@jensscholz it's just the graphics. I beat the game once and couldn't bring myself to replay it again. Maybe if there was a remake or mod. Nah not that great of a game. They ruined it
