The Tom Stewart clay pipe cleek mark goes back further than 1905 - combined with the lettering within the oval dates it to after 1905. It is not necessarily the case that Tom Stewart assembled the whole club, often they supplied the heads to be assembled by others. Tom Stewart was a premier maker and made many of Bobby Jones's clubs. They are quite collectable.

I really like the idea of going vintage, as I am restoring vintage Hickory putters and woods now.

Hickory golf is definitely a growing segment of the golfing community. Decent clubs can be had on eBay for not a lot of money, but you'd better know what you're looking for. It pays to do your research and learn as much as you can before jumping into hickory golf.

Wow a beautiful example of the hickory era. I bet if that club could talk what an interesting story that would be, thank you Vintage Golfer (Jon) for another offering.

Beautiful hand made craft. Needs refurbish to show it's magnificence. Thank you for the video.

That is a great idea! Would be fun to mix in an antique putter with an old vintage set.

I came across a Tom Stewart 2 iron with the hosel forged specifically for the parallel steel shaft it is attached to. The blade has all the authentic Tom Stewart St. Andrewes markings and trademark. I'm guessing it was made during the transition from hickory 1920's. It's in excellent condition with original grip. I really want to hit some balls, but not if it's rare and valuable. Anyone know?

You putted better with this oldie than the Nike monstrosity from your last vid. Call up Tom and have him put a new shaft on it for you. No, wait. Sorry Tom could do it 100 years ago!
