My dad brought a 67 427 400hp coupe home in 1970. I got to drive it in high school in the late 70's. Glad I didn't hurt it. He handed it down to me in 2005. Still runs, and looks great. He's a good dad.

I would guess the factory clutch is already pretty stout to handle 435 hp - the standard size tires will slip before that clutch does - I'm no fan of heavy clutch throws - leave it alone. Short throw shifter? Yeah, maybe, if Hurst makes one for it. But this is a pretty rare car and I wouldn't change anything - unless perhaps the brakes - new tech is much better. Great car, great driver.

The shifter works just fine. Had a 68 z28 with the same tranny and gears I'm sure by the sounds of it. 3 73 posi. Loved that long throw. You could bang it really hard. Although my knuckles would sometimes hit the ashtray cover going into 3rd at 7500 rpm. Definitly putting my. Passengers,if any, in the back of their seats.

Cool. Now drive to the store and get something to tie your hair up. Don't see too many women driving big block Corvettes. Hmmm...I know the location here. That first road you turn left on and go through the gears is Lordship Blvd. - right at the swampy end of runway 24 at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, CT. No place for the cops to hide. Unfortunately, it's a crappy place to run a Corvette because there are no backroads in the area. Must get on I-95, then on Rte. 8 and head North. Way too fast for the roads in that area, sweetie...

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A GATED H pattern there is NO ferrari type gate just push it up and over sweety pie and cut the time down HUGE ...to be honest I never really do lift making the 1/2 shift I side step the clutch while keeping my right foot down ... Who showed you how to drive stick your father . Let me take you out for 30 minutes and you will not believe what they vette really drives like..with someone behind the wheel who learned on stick at 14 yrs old got my drivers License on a stick ...Oh and some free advice shit can the factory shifter and get a Super Shifter with the Short Vette stick and the Beefy shift linkage with proper ends yes you will have a White H pattern ball but it looks bitchin .

I can attest that it was a 435 hp 427, but back then we didn't break them down to L's and LS's etc. bought it from him because he was starting a family as well. Look it up and you'll find that there were a number of them produced, and I wish I still had it.

Shifts slower the my grandma, just learned how to shift into 3rd as she pushes up the right the up. All you need to do is push forward too the right and it will find the gate. Also both the steering and the shifting linkage is set on the std slow adjustment, both can be shorted by about a 1/3 of the movement.

His was also a big block 4 sped roadster that was a coral color with the factory side pipes. He gave me permission to road test it after any repairs and believe me I did! What a wonderful experience driving what I consider the last”sports car” Corvette. I never abused that car, but it performed very well. That's quite the long shift throw. You almost need long arms to shift that thing.

Some chick is driving my dream car!! I hope she knows what a privilege it is to drive a C2 Corvette, much less a '67 with a big block.

This gal can DRIVE! Nothing like a REAL muscle car from the days when Detroit (or Bowling Green) knew how to build them. And again, how beautiful does it make a gal to be able to drive this beast the way she does? AWESOME!

When did right on red become yield on red? Brings back memories of riding with my brother in his 66 big block but his shifting was much better!

The shift through seems excessively long. I remember driving a 64 Sting Ray...the quick through shift pattern was very small..easy to mistake 1st and 3rd gears. Anyone else notice this long through?

Under the bridge thunder is the best.. Try it in a tunnel.... Its exhilarating....!
