Pretty good. The plastic has discolored slightly from the chlorine, and the bottom is a little warped because my gravel and sand bed has shifted from rain water not completely draining, but otherwise it is still in great shape. Keep an eye out for an update as we got a new light for it.
I haven't had any issues with caving in, but one Winter season I drained it completely and it floated up because of water underneath it. I now only drain it partially in the Winter.
Great job. I bet your children love it. You're lucky you don't have a giant dog to mess this up. We want to do this but our Newfoundland would claim it for himself.
It's still going and we love it. I can't comment on if its better than a galvanized one as I've never had a galvanized one, but I can say that this one is holding up really well.
@@sharoncourt75 They sell small heating coils on amazon that are used to prevent livestock tanks from freezing. I got one just to try to bring the temperature up a little in colder months. It works ok.
Yes it is. I have a valve that diverts the pump output to the waterfall when I want to turn it on. I didn't record or take any pictures when I built the waterfall, but maybe I can figure out a way to do an explanation video of how I made it.
jay5729 just a quick video, showing a little in depth of the pump would be great! I was stressing out over how I would be able to do it, so it would help a lot!
Do you have an issue with rain water getting underneath? I know you said you did the first year. Are you doing anything to prevent it? We got a lot of water under ours and it raised it. We have to figure out what our next step is.
I ran a drain pipe when I dug the hole, but it is about 6 inches higher than bottom so I have to keep some water in the bottom of the pool during rainy season to keep it from floating up.
Did you use an above ground pump? If so, which one ? Did it have cutoff valves located at the pump? We are currently trying to put one in and have the Intex pump 28635EG and trying to figure out how to solve for their not being a cutoff valve at the pump.
We did use an above ground pump. I'm not sure of the model as it was an old pump I got from my Dad that he had used with an intex pool. It did not have cutoff valves on it so I put in my own. I also have a valve for the waterfall, and another for diverting the water through a solar heater I built.
This is exactly what we are getting ready to do and I have tons of questions!! lol we are getting a poly 9’ behlen 1000 gallon tank this week delivered and want to make it into a spa with a few jets/ wading pool! How is your pressure on your return since you split between the waterfall? I’ve heard that it can affect that. Also the rock waterfall is exactly what I had envisioned in my head just without the greenery landscaping. How did you get your rocks to stay? And did you use a base? Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated!! Thanks! Yours looks amazing!
@@jay5729 I found a plastic tank that measures 44.25" high x 85.5" diameter. What do you think? Could this work as a good pool as set up the way you have yours?
Any problems with an odd smell from the poly product interacting with chlorine? I'm getting a smell that's not the normal chlorine smell. I love your private oasis and your little helper..there’s something so calming about watching and hearing the sound of water!🥰
Thanks! We love to relax and cool off in it on the extreme hot days here in California.
Love your small pool and waterfall. ☺
Thank you! 😊
Cool little waterfall.
I wish you would have done of a serials on the waterfall install and more detailed how to… it’s really nice though!!!
Thank you!
It looks lovely and you have made it very pretty
Thank you.
That's so smart to use the nylons for the vacuum. I've been hoarding a few holey pairs and now I know why 🤣
I jst checked the store and no one sells replacement bags, so I am sticking with the nylons.
Nice job on pool. Would be nice if you had a video on how to do the fountain.
Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures or video of the fountain build.
Hows it holding up in 2023

@@jay5729 so awesome bro thank you. Me and my wife want to do this soon for next summer
Nice thanks for sharing God bless you always
Thank you too
How has it held up being buried in the ground? Any caving in when you empty it? I was thinking of doing this.

Are you still happy with your stock tank pool? Do you feel it is better than the galvanized?

Amazing job man
Thanks. We really enjoy it.
Hi! Your pool area looks AWESOME! Where did you find a 9’x 36” stock tank?
Thanks! We got the tank at Tractor supply.
😂😂 $400 for that. I'll pass !
@@jay5729 hi i just found your video, i went there today the only half 2 ft tall by 8 ft wide dang it
hello looks great. what filter & pump parts did you get?
The filter and pump are an old set from my Grandmas old Intex inflatable pool. Not sure of the model.
Hello how cold is in the winter out there? I just installed mine avobe ground and i love it.
we get maybe 2 or 3 nights where the temp gets just under freezing, but other than that not too cold.

Oh and how did you do a solar heater???
How’s the durability on this stock tank
Great so far. We've had it over a year and a half and so far no issues. The kids play pretty rough in it and it hasn't cracked anywhere.
Do you recommend a plastic tank or the metal ones? I found one, and it is plastic, but it seems that most people get the metal ones. Thanks
