two years ago i met chepito at my neighbors house. he was as dynamic as a man as he was a timbalist. sadly, his life took a turn for the worse years back, and hes seemingly a lost man in old memories. sadly he cannot get over his 'hurt' and it hurts everyone through the lost of his genius. ive heard carlos santana reached out to chepito, but unfortunately chepito is unable to let go of the past and play at the same level in even this video. i love chepito as the man, not the timbalist. que vive!

@ERNESTORIVADENEYRA estas muy equivocado. No creo que haya cajon en los discos de santana (en los que estaba chepito al menos). Lo que si es cierto es que en 1972 Paco de Lucia de gira por Peru decidio incorporar el cajon en su banda y eso lo abrio al mundo. Despues modificaron el tamaño y la voz del mismo para adaptarlo al flamenco (igual que con la guitarra que es mas viva y aguda que la clasica).

Chepito was good, I'll admit, but Mingo Lewis and Pete Escovedo were far better. And no way was Chepito the nucleus of Santana's band. Santana went on to bigger and better things without Chepito. With all due respect, what did Chepito do without Santana? I rest my case.

Chepito had the block on lock back in the early 90s in concord ca. two of his houses were party spots for the hood. and the blue mercedez jaaaaa Adrian was the only one that was actually on his feet. kuack was a good dude but man he was double the trouble. everytime we ran into chepito at the mall or in the streets he used get all hype up specially at the salsa clubs in the bay.

Chepito had the block on lock back in the early 90s in concord ca. two of his houses were party spots for the hood. and the blue mercedez jaaaaa Adrian was the only one that was actually on his feet. kuack was a good dude but man he was double the trouble. everytime we ran into chepito at the mall or in the streets he used get all hype up specially at the salsa clubs in the bay.
