  • Easy Baby Back Ribs on my new GMG Daniel Boone pellet grill. This was my first cook on this pellet grill and let me tell you I was not disappointed at all. This cooker is amazing and so easy to use.
    I ran lumberjack Mesquite pellets, used my Texas Trinity and Texas BBQ chapters seasoning on the ribs. I finished with a glaze of Sucklebusters Honey BBQ Glaze and finishing sauce. The total cook time was just over four hours.
    If your interested in my Texas Trinity, send me an email to GalindosTexasbbq@Gmail.com

    I’m a noob and trying to figure things out. Just curious why you used water instead of apple juice? It ended up looking awesome of course

    • @RicsBBQSpecialties
      @RicsBBQSpecialties  8 днів тому

      Hello! Sorry for the delayed reply. I like using water because I prefer to keep the flavor profiles of the proteins I’m cooking. Apple juice has sugar which I believe will also have a tendency to darken the ribs. I really don’t think it would add flavor at all.
      I use water to add moisture to ribs, chicken and even Brisket. Seems to work for me😎 Thanks for watching my video and again my apologies for the late reply. 👊🏼

    How's the window holding up, is it a pain to keep clean ... I'm sold on GMG, just not sure about the window

    • @RicsBBQSpecialties
      @RicsBBQSpecialties  2 роки тому +1

      The window and interior light will get dirty within 3 cooks or so. Depends on how long your cooks are. I spray it with Citrus safe cleaner and scrape with a razor blade. Doesn’t take long at all. Honestly the window is more of a novelty and not necessary. However since I have a UA-cam channel, it makes for cool videos. 😎

    Question, I have a GMG as well, the only issue I have with the Pellet smoker is that I do not get enough smoke flavor on my Ribs and Chicken as I do with my Fire stick smoker. What type of Pellets did you use?

    • @RicsBBQSpecialties
      @RicsBBQSpecialties  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Sir! I believe I used B&B pellets for this cook. I also like the Lumberjack brand. You can also use a (SmokeTube) I bought one and it helped a lot. But truthfully you will never get the same smoke flavor from any pellet smoker compared to a stick burner.
      One more tip is you can use real wood chips in a smoke tube for extra flavor. The smoke tubes aren’t just for pellets.

    What are your thoughts on the push button temp. Controls vs. A dial?

    • @RicsBBQSpecialties
      @RicsBBQSpecialties  3 роки тому

      Hello!
      I believe the dial temp controlled smokers only get up to 375 degrees.
      The digital will control temps up to 500.
      I love both my GMG units!

I’ve always wrapped my tray, after reading your “cringe” comment I was like,…. No I’m sure it’s wrapped. I went back and watched and yes it’s wrapped as always. Why spray with only water when it's a perfect opportunity to add flavor with Apple Cider Vinegar, Apple juice etc. Water is actually washing off any flavor you just put on with the rub, why do that. Add flavor never remove flavor. All you have now id boiled ribs.

    • @RicsBBQSpecialties
      @RicsBBQSpecialties  3 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching the video. I prefer the natural flavor of the pork without vinegar or sweet juice. The rub was set and not washed off at all. No boiled ribs! lol, that did make me laugh though.
