You are the cradle of human civilization.
Eyes of every conqueror has set upon you.
You are painted red by wars and conflicts.
Yet you thrived and welcomed your conquerors
    and made them your own.

My favorite Safavid ruler is Queen Khayr al-Nisa Begum (Mahd-i Ulya), the mother of Shah Abbas the Great. She was martyred to defend Iran and the Iranians. The Martyr Queen Khayr al-Nisa Begum is one of the greatest women in the history of Iran. This intelligent and beautiful woman was the savior of Iran both during her precious life and after her martyrdom.
Khayr Nisa Begum was the most powerful queen of the Safavid Empire, and she is the only Safavid queen who ruled the Safavid Empire.
Her son, Abbas the Great, was the greatest emperor of the Safavid empire, and also one of the greatest and most powerful emperors in history.
The Martyr Queen Khayr Nisa Begum was a skilled horsewoman and archer. In some battles, she herself was the commander of the army.

The empire over which Cyrus ruled was the largest the Ancient World had ever seen and maybe to this day the largest empire ever. "
In all sources, Cyrus the Great is described as a good king.
The great historians such as Will Durant, Richard N. Frye, Arthur Upham Pope, Professor Patrick Hunt, Walther Hinz, Heidemarie Koch, Charles Freeman, etc, etc, and the Great western philosophers, such as Hegel, Nietzsche, etc, etc, all respected and praised Cyrus the Great, the Persian empire and Persia. Xenophon respected and praised Persia and Cyrus the Great.
" Many historians as well as writers on human rights, have supported the interpretation of the Cyrus Cylinder as a human rights charter. "
" Cyrus the Great was a remarkable leader in his benevolence and wise leadership. He ruled over the greatest empire the world had seen at the time. Yet, the most amazing thing about his life and exploits is that the Almighty God of the Bible foretold his exploits and actually named him around 200 years before he was even born. "

By the 1880s, the great Persian mathematician, astronomer, and poet, Khayyam, was extremely well known throughout the English-speaking world, to the extent of the formation of numerous "𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐲𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬" and a "𝐟𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐭" Khayyam's poems have been translated into many languages.
An asteroid was named "Khayyam" in 1980. The planet 3095 Khayyam was named in his honor in 1980 and the lunar crater Khayyam was named in his honor in 1970 as well. One of the holes in the moon was named in honor of "Khayyam". 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐲𝐚𝐦, since its publication and massive circulation, the work has become one of the most popular classics of world literature.
The Persian calendar is the most accurate calendar in the world, and Khayyam reformed the Persian calendar. The Persian calendar became the official national calendar of Iran (Persia). The Persian calendar is more accurate than the Gregorian calendar.
Bertrand Russell remarked that " Khayyam of Persia was the only man known to him who was both a poet and mathematician, a special and creative scientist has been dedicated to the astronomer-mathematician who was also a poet, philosopher and physician. "
Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr always read Khayyam's poems before going to sleep.
Many great and famous men loved Khayyam's poems, and they were calmed and inspired by reading Khayyam's poems. Such as Mark Twain
    T. S. Eliot
    Martin Luther King Jr
    Abraham Lincoln
    André Gide
    Théophile Gautier
    Edward FitzGerald
    And many others
Khayyam recognised for his Jalai calendar, understanding of the parallel axiom, classification and solution of cubic equations, his contribution to literature. In 1079 CE, Khayyam reformed the solar calendar. His work on Algebra was also highly valued in the Middle Ages.
As a mathematician, he is most notable for his work on the classification and solution of cubic equations, where he provided geometric solutions by the intersection of conics.[7] Khayyam also contributed to the understanding of the parallel axiom.[8]:284

The greatest and most powerful Empire the world had ever seen. Majority of Law, Business, Finance, Politics, Education and everything in between comes from Persia. I wish they could return to their former Glory. If anybody knows anything about History they'll know Iran is the centre of the world. You need to control Iran to control the Middle East which in turn controls everything else. I would give my left testicle to watch the rise of another Persian Empire.

Its what happens when you force the country down the path it has been going. Just told you majority of the worlds inventions and law come from there. Meaning that they were smarter and more advanced than the rest of the world at their time. Not to mention that this wasn't a few years, this competitive advantage lasted thousand of years. Everything you see today is based on thousands of years of history. Don't be ignorant. When the Islamic states took over, it was an exponential decrease of freedom, power, wealth, health care, law and subsequently intelligence. Having said that from an unbiased view. What makes you say they lack intelligence? Shouldn't make a comment unless you can back it up with facts. That's like me going to Syria and taking "The average health care status". You cannot get an average IQ of a country that isn't free. Over there if you break certain laws you will be executed without question. People are not allowed to think for themselves. You insulting them by referring that they lack intelligence is the equivalent of me talking crap about my great great grandfather. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here. Same principle applies.

      @saeedsnne 8 років тому +10

Murat Özgün and here I thought you were an intelligent individual trying to prove a point, but from reading this comment I realised you are the biggest idiot here. It sounds to me like you have a personal issue with them and try to insult the whole nation and its history to satisfy your hate. The same as how a person is defined by his or hers years of experiences growing up, a country is no different. I never said they have to specifically be your ancestors. Clearly you have no knowledge in history. The Persians, Greeks, Romans amongst other countries had a huge impact in the development and invention of law, technology, society, cultural tolerance, mathematics, infrastructure and literally a thousand different things. Its not like that now because its was stripped of its power and forced to obey laws. With Nuclear power coming into effect, countries, empires and growth mean very little. Thousands of years of history later, an idiot like you pops out of the mothers womb and calls Persian idiots.

+Oliver Draathelvete, Romans adopted from Greeks and Greeks adopted from Persians. Greeks were slave owner, pedophile, misogynist, barbarian, idolatry, etc. before they came in contact with Persians. In fact it was the Persians who taught the Greeks human rights, religious freedom, multiculturalism, monotheism, government (satrap), gender equality, woman empowerment principals, road system (pony express), taxation, abolish slavery, caravan serai (rest area), labor payroll (finance), coinage, modern garden, irrigation, water canal (qanat), advance ship building and sailing, etc, etc,...

    • @pepinozinanasshole
      @pepinozinanasshole 8 років тому

+fanzy1338 Both sides did what we can call morally wrong, both sides did horrible atrocities against humans. Sure, I don't deny the persians had a great influence with their enormous empire. They had a great impact on the middleeast and had a great impact on the roman emperors, the later roman emperors admired the persian kings and dressed like them, and were surrounded with eunuchs. Just look at Diocletian. They were definitely inspired by them. I don't deny the greeks did bad things. The spartans treatment of the helot population, where they forced the would-become spartans to kill helots during some part of the year and their opression of the helots, by taking their land and treating them like slaves. The Athenian massacre at Miletos is another good example of greek slaughter without any remorse. They were loyal to different empires and city-states during different times. First they were their own, then sometime under Spartan rule then later under rule of Lydia, against the persians. Persians destroyed the city- they were then loyal to the persians. At some time they revolted against the Athenians, and the Athenians exterminated the population. I don't deny the greeks had slaves, they had the helots like I mentioned, they had the pedagogae, but they were paid for their work, they had men who carried the hoplites armor and they had all sorts of slaves, they also traded in eunuchs for some time along western Turkey but they didn't have a system of castrating these people (eunuchs). Though the Greeks had slaves they often had much more rights than the Persian slaves. Because the persians had slaves and did atrocities as well. Let's look at Kambyses II when he invaded Egypt. The Persians launched cats on the enemy because they were sacred, they are said to have nailed them to their shields. They didn't fight clean. Not in this battle at least. The pharaoh were later executed, in an Egyptian revolt against the persian king. Lets go back to the slaves. The persian had eunuchs in their court and harem. Don't let Propaganda fool you. They did for sure. Not only is it mentioned by Herodotos, and Ctesias and other Scholars as well. And mentioned by the scholars who were with Alexander in his campaign when Alexander met Bagoas. Even the persians themselves depict them in their reliefs. They are often close to their king, keeping him cool with a wip waving above his head. They are beardless, no moustache no beard which is typical occurence in the male body when castrated at a young age, before puberty in this case. They didn't grow beards, their voice was lighter than other men. Tablets have also been found that depicts eunuchs. They were close to the persian king and served as the kings eye because he had great confidence and trusted the eunuchs. They had different tasks. Some were close to the king and he had sexual pleasure of them. The word 'Eune' means "bed" in Greek and 'scheo' "to hold control over". They looked, sounded, different from other mena nd women. They stood out in the persian empire. The Persian kings reason for taking eunuchs were many. They couldn't inherit any power at any chance. Because they were different. They carried out administrative work. They served as trusted eyes to the king, and cupbearers for the king. You can see the cup in their hands at some reliefs and they have a looped napkin the badge of their office. They also served as bed-warmers. The Persian king took thousands of eunuchs. After crushing the Ionian-revolt which led to the Greco-persian wars, the Persian king Dareios took the most beautiful boys and girls from Ionia, forcing the population to give up their sons and daughters for servitude to the persian court, castrating both. THAT IS SLAVERY. The iranians practiced in this, or more to say Persians in the 1900's. Because persian is the right word to use for this time. But the use of eunuchs is said to have been around since the time of Cyrus the greats time. Cyrus is often portrayed as the most humble and greatest king ever in the time of humanity by the Iranians. I doubt it. He is said to have executed his enemies at one point after a successful battle. And Eunuchs were around him. His cylinder of human rights and abolishment of slavery is more or less a copy of the Hammurabi code. At least it is according to me and many other scholars. You can google this what I've written and you will find many links to people who agree with me (serious historians with scholarship in history) who claim that he only copied the Hammurabi code. The Hammurabi code was written in the 1700's BC. way before the time of Cyrus the great, and it had laws of vengeance against those who did criminal acts. If one man cuts out the eye of another his eye shall be cut out. It also spoke of slavery and adultery, It never really forbade slavery that is true but it said if someone brings a slave from outside the city in here he shall be punished. More or less. It said that in general. I dont deny Hammurabi used slaves. But my point is the whole script is very similar to that of Cyrus cylinder. Many historians also say Cyrus wrote this to make himself popular. Hammurabi by the way forbade homosexuality, Persians didn't. Christians/muslims later forbade it in Constantinople. No use of eunuchs or homosexuality was seen in western turkey under muslims and christians rule. Iranian did practice in the 1900's in boy brothels the boys were known as Bashi boys. I said this earlier I think. Moreover, the persians treated their conquered lands with honor and respect, Cyrus liberated the jews from babylon which was a great deed. He may have altered the balance of the great ruling over the weak and incorporating everything into his own empire but letting the people worship whatever god they wanted. Which I also think as good, and wise. I know Cyrus did great things. And he died in battle as well. Unlike Xerxes and Darios who sat on their throne watching the bloodshed. But even if Cyrus was a perfect king the kings after him are KNOWN to have used eunuchs and castrating boys and girls is just as barbaric as ISIS. The immortal soldiers even had their own concubines with them, the eunuchs were in charge of the concubines. Even if the greeks didn't do it systematically they traded with eunuchs I condemn this too of course. See this is how a serious historian or amateur historian like myself should look at the greater picture and compare. History is also a subject for the philosophers, because nobody is really right. Nobody was there. We make different analysis of it, you understand?

Its written in our shri mad bhagwat Gita whenever our religion the land of sin becomes more powerful
      Than land of purity
The avatar comes to land to defeat the land of sin and re establish our religion with modern life
Even Hindus will have to face the day of judgment or your so called qayamat
When the tenth avatar will come and take us back to sathyug from where we began our life and will lead its first foundation
Not everyone will be allowed its will be based on our karma or deeds
Unfortunately its the last yug known as kalyug and its divided between 4 yug or eras
And I hope u will not bash us for being polytheistic

many ignorant Iranians think that we where a great superpower before Islam and the Arab invasion but what they fail to understand is that Iran came back as a major power after the Arabs and it was the Mongolians that started irans decline. many ignorant Iranians believe strongly that the Arabs are our national enemy and Islam is there way of influencing iran towards arab culture but this way of thinking has only come about quit resonantly. In iran the majority of the people are fars and then we have trucks and caucasian but we do have arabs in southern iran. the season for the hatred towards the arabs is mostly because of the iran-iraq war of 1980-1988 which was thought to be by iraq a way of getting ride of the hated Iranians in the middle east (my dad was in that war as an iranian navy diver and he got gassed he survived though) the arabs hate us because they think we're the ones who killed all there leaders including there national hero omar. we are also two different types of Muslims and almost the entire arab world is the other sort of Muslim

They are called muslims, yes, there is a big difference between being a muslim and having the title of "muslim" in your ID card. Iranians are practically not muslims, but they are scared to admit it, because once there is a dictatorship government which is not afraid of punishing you to death just because your beliefs were different from theirs, then you start to panic and try to pretend to be as they want you to be.

    (See Wikipedia) !!

    • @SweetOne968
      @SweetOne968 4 роки тому +2

Rep 101, I’ll correct him. Iran had civilizations predating Mesopotamian civilizations such as jiroft of 7000 BC. Those people were not Iranians, they were native Iranians. But because their writing system was more of a geometrical code not built for recitation, it loses the title of first civilization in history. Furthermore, I personally think it’s mongo-Turkic to say “our” civilization of jiroft as they were not modern Iranian’s ancestors. Iranians come from the steppes. They have a common ancestor with the Europeans. They were semi-nomadic farmers who began to settle in Iran in around 1000 BC roughly. The jiroft people were already long gone by then. Furthermore, in 7000 BC, Iranians and brits were the same people genetically until 4000 BC so saying that the Jiroft people were Iranians is like saying jiroft people are also brits to that matter. It’s irrational. I hope my explanation was understandable.

My favourite Queens from History are the adorable Persian Queens :
    1. Cassandane, the "dearly loved" wife of Cyrus the Great, and the influential and powerful Persian Achaemenid queen
    2. Atossa, a wife of Darius I the Great, and the influential and powerful Persian Achaemenid queen
    3. Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved wife of Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor.
Shah Jahan, one of the greatest and most famous emperors, as one of the world's most famous symbols of love, built one of the 7 Wonders of the World for his beloved Persian wife Mumtaz Mahal. She was a lovely queen, Mumtaz Mahal used her position to promote humanitarian programs for the needy. Mumtaz Mahal was a Persian noblewoman from Iran/Persia.
A crater was named in her honour on asteroid 433 Eros. A crater on the planet Venus is named after her.
Even during her lifetime, poets would extol her beauty, grace, and compassion. She was a politically astute woman, at her intercession, Shah Jahan forgave enemies or commuted death sentences.
    4. Stateira
    5. The Martyred Queen "Khayr Nisa Begum" : The most powerful queen of Iran after Islam is the Martyred Queen "Khayr al-Nisa Begum" (Mahd-i Ulya) who ruled Iran for 2 years. Khayr Nisa Begum was the most powerful queen of the Safavid Empire, and she is the only Safavid queen who ruled the Safavid Empire.
She was martyred to defend Iran and Iranians. She is one of the greatest women in the history of Iran. This intelligent and beautiful woman was the savior of Iran both during her precious life and after her martyrdom.
    6. Balendukht, Queen of Georgia (the queen of one of the most popular and famous kings of Georgia, Vakhtang I of Iberia).
    7. Hamida Banu Begum, the mother of the third Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great. She had great influence over her son and Akbar Shah had great respect for his mother.
    8. Laodice III of Pontus, she was a Persian princess from Pontus and the most powerful queen in the history of the Seleucid Empire, and Laodice III is the only Seleucid queen who ruled the Seleucid Empire.
    9. Jeyran (the beloved wife of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar). She is the most influential queen of Iran during the Qajar Empire, because contrary to the tradition of the Qajars (as it was the tradition that the Qajar kings be of their tribe ancestry in both paternal and maternal.), Jeyran became the mother of the crown prince and the official wife of the Qajar king "Soltan-e Sahebgharan Naser al-Din Shah".
The greatest Iranic rulers in the history of Iran :
    1. Persian Achaemenid Empire, the first hyperpower in history : Cyrus the Great and Darius the Great
    2. Seleucid Empire (a Macedonian and non-Iranian empire, and the most powerful and largest Macedonian empire after Alexander of Macedon) : Laodice III , she was a Persian princess from Pontus and the only Seleucid queen who ruled the Seleucid Empire. This Persian princess ruled the Seleucid Empire for 6 years.
    3. Parthian Empire : Mithridates I the Great of Parthia
    4. Sasanian Empire : Ardashir I the Unifier
    5. Samanid Empire : Ismail Samani
    6. Buyid Empire : Adud al-Dawla, he is widely regarded as the greatest king of the Buyid dynasty, and by the end of his reign he was the most powerful ruler in the Middle East.
    7. The Martyred Iranian Queen Khayr Nisa Begum, the most powerful queen of the Safavid Empire, and this Iranian woman is the only Safavid queen who ruled the Safavid Empire.
    8. Zand Empire : Karim Khan Zand
And some famous queens who were half Iranic :
    1. Tamar the Great, the most powerful and popular queen in the history of Georgia, and her mother was an Iranian Ossetian princess, named "Burdukhan of Alania".
    2. Cleopatra was a mix of Macedonians and Persians. (Her paternal and maternal grandmother "Cleopatra I Syra" was also half Persian).
    3. Also, Mastani was half Persian, she is one of the most famous women in the history of India, and her mother was Persian. Mastani was the daughter of the Rajput king Chhatrasal. Her father was the founder of the Panna State. Her husband Bajirao I was the 7th Peshwa of the Maratha Confederacy.
    4. Cleopatra I Syra, Queen of Ptolemaic Egypt, and regent of Egypt during the minority of her son, Ptolemy VI, from her husband’s death in 180 BC until her own death in 176 BC. She ruled Egypt for about 4 years.
Her mother "Laodice III " was a Persian princess from Pontus, and her father was the famous Seleucid emperor "Antiochus III the Great" who was a mix of Macedonians and Persians, Seleucids were Iranian from their mother's side, and Macedonian from their father's side.
