Yeah i feel the same way as a Army myself; I just don't understand why these interviewers keep bringing BTS's name up to other groups that are there to talk about the music they have and the achievements that they have done. It isn't productive for conversation and just feels really rude of them to uncessarly bring up a group that is unrelated to the questions they probably should be asking these groups

I LOVE bts with all my heart, been an army since 2017, but i hate when american interviewers bring them up to other groups because there's so many other amazing groups out there also putting in so much work and dedication to achieve their goals and they absolutely deserve to be recognized just like bts is and bringing up bts's successes has to sting and it diminishes their efforts
I hope with all my heart that you have the same reaction to your army because us other fandoms we are sick and tired of hearing about BTS when we are praising and supporting our artist, because you (not you specifically) always bring them up to invalidate other artists achievement.
I absolutely agree. OF course, BTS was the first group I discovered in Kpop therefore they will always hold a special place in my heart. But there are so many groups with unique talent and potential that really shouldn't be so obviously compared.
Seventeen worked their ass off since before their debut in 2015 and they're still doing the same 10 years into the industry now but These westerns be Asking about BTS in their own interview like bruh if I was a Seventeen member i would have Been pretty pissed

Sometimes it seems like American interviewers or shows either don't do their research or are a bit careless or just Americentric. To compare it in American terms that would be like asking members of N'Sync about Backstreet Boys. Though honestly that's probably happened too. It's even harder because often there is a language barrier along with a culture difference so I would think even more research would be helpful. But some very basic research like how to pronounce group or member names or know their nationality would go a long way. Knowing how to say a word in Korean would be a bonus. Like learning how to say hello just to show you're making an effort. I remember one or more where they used a Japanese word instead. And sometimes like you said people just make mistakes.

Maybe because they have the biggest fandom, they won so many awards but to be honest, I agree with you. Other groups are also good.

I disagree Ben, these American interviewers are definitely NOT doing their job. They’re so damn rude. I dont think BTS appreciates the fact that interviewers bring them up any chance they get while interviewing other groups. What is the point of that besides creating drama? I can’t understand any good intentions behind that question. It’s unfair to both the group being interviewed as well as BTS. We Army don’t appreciate these questions. Also, they really need to stop being surprised at k-pop idols speaking English, like…have they never heard any kpop songs? They all have some English in them so they are definitely learning something. I also think it’s rude of them to try to speak Korean when they can’t even say the word right. I love it when interviewers try to learn some words or a sentence of their guests’ language, but if you’re not going to say it right, it’s definitely rude. Americans need to stop interviewing kpop idols as if they’re interviewing their American guests…Korean culture is different. Like Ellen asking BTS if they’ve ever hooked up with army still annoys me…

We all know it's free to Google group name ,and where are they from .It takes like a f minute .You are too new in K-pop. I think the issue with the many you're english is amazing, is that you would expect an interviewer when speaking to a group that majortiy speak a foreign language to at least do the basic research of who's the person who I aim the complicated english quesstions and who do I need to allow for translation. And the easiest way to do that is what country were they born in. I think it's also the fact it keeps happening, Happeneing once you're like OK Kpop is new, you didn't realise people travel to be kpop idols, but then it keeps happening, so feels like the interviewers don't feel any embarrassment about not knowing. I would say though some of the complimations I've seen are harsh for example the Tom Holland Eric Nam interview which always gets used as an example cause that's someone being interviewed so is more understandable that research hasn't been done. Also in this one where he's talking about if they wrote their own music and semi repeats the question, that's possibly a not fully translated live question so he's repeated not realising they've already answered. BTS questions I think depends on the generation, NCT, Seventeen, EXO were around before or at the same time as BTS so is an insult, however TXT, Stray Kids would have more relevance (Stray Kids Lee know was a backing dancer for BTS, TXT were Hybes first group debuted after BTS) and so would be more like western artists being asked about Ed Sheeran.

What pisses me off was that woman at GMA who can't get anything right to Enhypen. Can't a little run-through on the scripts a burden? She should've known better. If it's a joke, it's not funny. And some of the interviews are so insensitive. I know the video was supposed to be fun, and satirical at some point but it really pisses me off.

As an ARMY from the U.S., I get so annoyed when U.S. interviewers ask other groups what they think if BTS, or if they want to be the next BTS, etc. It's so rude. EVERY group works so damn hard, and they all have their own unique personalities, musics styles, passions. They're not trying to "be BTS" lol.

I agree. talk about the GROUP that is being interviewed not other groups. Lazy interviewers. How hard is it to research just a little bit?
I just think it's disrespectful to the artists when interviewers don't even bother to know how to pronounce a group's name properly or do a little research on the group and its members...it's part of their job and doesn't require much effort.

Trust me when I say this.. anyone and I mean absolutely anyone, including armys, are so damn tired of hearing dumb American interviewers throwing in BTS name for absolutely no reason at all when interviewing other groups. I think it’s kinda disrespectful to do that and I’m pretty sure the idols are so done with it as well. It’s apparently so hard for the interviewers to just stay on topic and focus on the actual artists they’re interviewing. In general American interviews are just trash, they rarely have good and interesting questions, although some interviewers actually do know their shit and actually do a good job with the questions but you don’t see that often.

Yeah, Ellen Degeneres always annoys me with her rude and uncomfortable questions. But on the whole, American interviews in general are annoying in how much they just miss or don't do any research on any depth in any songs or albums before they have the interviews. Just way too shallow for me.
I have watched plenty of interviews done by Korean hosts and some of them were also very shallow. I think Koreans and Americans have big egos

The interviewers clearly don't do enough research, and they don't even try to pretend! They just blabber about anything else than the groups they are supposed to interview. Or even worse, don't even try to understand how the Kpop fan base system works, always asking about "girlfriends" and stuff, this is soooo disrespectful, when the kpop idols don't even have the right to speak about this.
But, also, very disrespectful, just bringing up the questions when the group members don't even want to talk about that themselves... Not mentioning this is completely heteronormative and very intrusive regarding the Kpop idols sex orientation.
Also, Americans consider they are the only one good at English, when actually they are not! Because most of them do not learn foreign languages because they think they don't need to, they just assume everyone else is as bad at learning languages...
