Couch commentators:
Skyrim's main story revolves around the player character's efforts to defeat Alduin, a Dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. Set two hundred years after Oblivion, the game takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elde...
At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

"Don't clap, its not hard"
"but it looks cool, and that's what counts"
True that!
+Patrick Hansen lol here comes the beta patrol expecting others to behave subserviently and inhibited like them!
"sees bucket jump"
holy shit
pro
He takes 20 Minutes to do what took me 14 hours in my first playthrough. Impressed.
that's exactly the reason why i love and watch speedruns.
Most of the time the speedrunners are just using glitches but sometimes they are using tricks which will just will blow your mind.
Uzair Djillali Yahud "Just using glitches"
You say that as if it was a piece of cake. Have you ever tried to platter-clip through a wall in Skyrim? Holy moly, you should try, you will ask yourself if this was tool-assisted when you realize how hard it actually is.
+Finkel - Funk lol 14 hours.... I still haven't beaten this game and I've been playing off and on since release for at least a couple hundred hours. I guess I just prefer finishing the main quest to be one of the last things I do.
Kevin Octacok Finished the main Questline after like 60 hours or so, got sidetracked a bit :)
+Kevin Octacok i just finished the quest where you kill the drag at the watchtower
Defeats final boss, becomes Level 2.
loool all the 8 year old kids saying "this isn't a speedrun it's cheating"
any% speedruns of ALL games REQUIRE you to use glitches for good times. It's beating the game *as fast as possible* by *any* means. If you want to see glitch-less speedruns, those exist as well. But you're going to be watching that shit for up to 7 hours or more, depending on what game it is.
Using glitches isn't cheating though. It's part of the game's design, usually overlooked by developers if they don't find them.
JawaKiller Yeah, but it's nice to see the legit speedruns that take more skill and less glitch abusing.
Any% are for any means possible.
WiredGaming Less glitch abusing? it's either glitched or glitchles (with some exceptions in games with game breaking glitches such as aLttP
WiredGaming I find glitchless runs dull and boring.
JawaKiller To each their own! I don't like watching the whole 7 hours, but just the skill that it takes to actually complete games in like 7 hours with no glitch abusing.
I'm usually not a friend of those runs.. but the guy who plays is so nice and humble, explains everything well, and all of that while having great skill and (!) talking!
Kudos to him. Skyrim = Best game.
And the stream was against cancer. Okay, that's it. The guy is great.
+Leon Winter Yes, I like the way he gives us some detailed technical information on why and how some of that stuff works
+Leon Winter And he's pretty funny too ^-^
Someone can speedrun the game by the time i finish creating a new character...jeez.
I couldn't even pass the opening intro by that point!
Right???
I could never speed run an Elder Scrolls game, I'd just get side tracked and start try to kill butterfly's with my bow.
Lmao
I know the feel... Just got Special Edition... Started out in Helgen... And somehow I am almost finishing the Companions Questline and started on the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Questline...
I would not shoot butterflys , I would chase a single bunnie from Solitude to Rifen, I must set priorities.
"So what happened there, is, I got detected. But interestingly enough, I was detected by the horse. So ... you can't get caught by the horse when you're stealing the horse!"
I need that line printed on a shirt :D
+Stryke Still want it.
+Stryke well technically you could, just make the quote into an image and go on a custom shirt website
So interesting to find that there is a huge community dedicated to such things as video-game speed runs. I would never do one. But I can understand the fun involved in the runs themselves and in the community. For some reason, they are calming to watch. Good luck on future runs.
+Mike James
I personally think its damn entertaining to watch. For myself, i will never do one, because i want to enjoy the game.
I was only skilled enough to somewhat speed run one game I don't have the skills anymore and that game was new super Mario bros 2. I knew all the secrets I needed to know to get to the cannons. So I got to the end pretty quick in my terms. But I'm not even close to get a good speed run in. But it was the best I cloud do and it made me proud of it.
and I'm just over here making some iron daggers
Why is it? I made it all the way to level 100 using that strat.
yeah, but resto can glitch your alchemy to be unable to be increased by enchantments anymore so you should quicksave before that.
Yeah thats true, it is effective, I ain´t deny that. But it also needs a good while to level alchemy to lvl 40 , at which the glitch gets a lot more effective.
pay a trainer, pff. waste o' money
it wastes time, you gotta recollect that money.
Why do these idiots in the comments get so mad when the runner exploits glitches in the game? It's like asking a magician to make a ball disappear then calling him a phony because he didnt abide by the natural laws of the world.
lol, indeed, great analogy.
perfect comparison i never get those guys the only thing i see as a "Cheat" is console or some form of mod program and then theres TAS runs where its the same but with a emulator doing mechanical precision for tricks and glitchs
I think it is more like taking a shortcut in a marathon and then arguing that they should have built real walls instead of just cordoning off the track ;). Because just if something is possible in the world in which the contest takes place, it shouldn't necessarily be allowed. But as long as there are clearly defined rules for a competition, this is not really a problem imho.
***** Then they will be really good in a glitches run. Or they can use the glitch.
***** Umm, no, its not like that, one Glitch ain't gonna beat a well Optimized Glitchless.....in most games, I could see OOT being done by a casual with some practice getting Wrong Warp down beating a Glitchless easy, but by no means would they have the speed on the Deku Tree, on getting to the Tree, or on the Gohma fight, to beat the Pros who do it,besides Glitchless and Glitch Speedruns are held on SEPARATE LEADERBOARDS!!! OMG ITS AMAZING ISN'T?? THEY ACTUALLY SEPARATE THE TYPES OF RUN!!!
I'm currently doing a speed run of my life, it's taken 29 years so far.
+The Angry Moth I heard the slit wrists dlc can do that too.
Chris Sheridon takes longer to get to the good part
The leap of faith side quest is extra fast
i didn't pre-order and got the failed abortion storyline. Rip.
Greasyphil420 lmao
in my first playthrough it took me 2h to get up that fucking mountain
They should stop the clock when the game crashes. That's not the speed-runner's fault.
Well Wymorn said "it's not a skyrim speed run unless the game crashes on you atleast once." So it was expected and i guess that all of the people in speed running community for skyrim leave any crashes in the game since they have to use glitches frequently. Pro's and Con's for glitching the game.
Feast Lopol
Well then why did they stop the clock when the fire alarm went off during Tri-Hex's Yoshi's Island speed run? They clearly have a policy of stopping the clock when something happens outside the speedrunner's control!
dstebbin That was out of the speed runner's control. During this speed run the players are doing glitches and getting to places they're not suppose to be in way earlier then they should. That comes with the risk of breaking the game and potently ruining their speed run. These glitches are caused by the speedrunner and they know that at any moment it could crash.
And I know that the 5-10 seconds it takes to get back to the game is a heavy price for a speed runner.
To sum it up, the glitches are being done by the speed runner and that means the crashing will be their fault so they will have to take the responsibility of taking those extra seconds. Even if a glitch happens unintentionally the runner still has to take control.
Feast Lopol
Skyrim crashes a shitload WITHOUT glitches! How do we know these crashes are actually caused by glitches?
dstebbin When Wymorn was in the Raggon Flaggon (I think that's what the place was called) it crashed two times and this was following the glitch through the wall. So we can assume that walking on the left side of the place he was in caused the game to crash.
I know that Skyrim crashes alot (ALOT) and honestly Skyrim's not one of the best games to speed run because of that.
It's like trying to sppedrun a game that's not had a play tester push up against every wall. Now I'm done replying these paragraphs i've been typing take a good 5-10 minutes to type
This is why I love these guys: They're so knowledgeable about the games they run, they clearly know how to do the glitches. But they also know WHY the glitches happen. They clearly do their homework
and I'am just sitting here with 60h+ and still haven't finished the game ^^
+CWP 565 hours + when I used to play on xbox xD and I have a better strat than this guy ;3
+Yuno Akise 1) How do you know you have 565h if it's on xbox, they don't have time played counters?
And I'm not sure you do to be honest, this guy has probably put in thousands of hours, that's why he's in the video.
Alex Frith No I mean on steam 565 hours of vanilla no skse and then when I used to play on console aswell so I have a fuck ton of time xD
+CWP I think the first time you should really explore everything and let yourself as much time you need. I think I played for way over 100 hours the first time.
im on 180h^^
For those bitching about the audio, use what knowledge you have. It's been a long series, they have had to probably switch equipment to prevent overheating, they can't afford to tune the equipment for every single change, and the levels have boundaries since they are in close proximity of each other (feedback issues) and they have to stream all of this. Even if they don't swap out the equipment, that explains the quality; every mic and capture card overheats and reduces quality at some point.
Yeah, it's pretty tough to get vocals at a consistent level between multiple people. And I don't think they have compressors or a dedicated engineer to set stuff up, and it's better to have lower sound than distorted audio.
Exactly. There's only so much that you can do with limited time, borrowed tech, no specified engineers, and a Twitch feed hahaha.
I'm pretty sure that there are more bugs per line of code in the "finished" version of Skyrim, after all its patches, than there is in the original LoZ.
And we love Bethesda for it.
Yes becase they are fucking massive games with thousands of line of code, of course there are going to be kinks in the system. The original LoZ was a couple maybe a few hundred lines of code, at most. It would be extremely easy to look through the code and find glitches there compared to the average Bethesda game
***** I was making a guess. It still gets the point across
+CheddarBacon the orientalist LOZ would have at least 50,000... I made a bloody text game. Unfinished, it was 2000+ lines
+Leeematty RS 2000 lines? o.O My text RPG finished was a little more than 800. What kind of mechanics do you have in 2000, selfimproving AI ?:D
One time my bro was playing New Vegas, and there was an NPC that was supposed to follow you, but instead, he just stood in place smiling.
He had to push him to his own dad so that the son will realize that he's not a potted plant. lol
+Azure.
Fallout has theses issues, I had the same stuff happening to me in Fallout 3 :/
+much wow i have that shit happening in fallout 4...fallout, falliut never changes
***** yeah i know..that was the joke..see cause they say..never mind
Speedrunning isn't cheating. I'm sure he's put thousands of hours of legitimate play into Skyrim, and speedrunning is just how one has fun with a game that one usually takes seriously.
I have 452 hours on Skyrim and I still haven't finished the main story line...
alot of people are in the same shoes as you, me included
the main story is kind of boring... i like to complete the storyline of the dark brotherhood the most :D
after 450h+ i almost finished making my char :D
>delaying the council meeting for that long
just think about it, you spent almost 19 days playing skyrim...
What's with all the butthurt boys in the comment saying he is cheating? They obviosuly have no fucking idea what they are talking about. If you have been playing games long enough you know the differences between bugs, glitches and cheats.
***** Don't you mean Any%?
The story of a half-naked orc exploring the lands with kitchen tools in hand.
Run starts at 15:03
Snoman Gaming ii
Thank you
I didn't even know they ran Skyrim this year, I'm so hyped for this
Its amazing how fast he did this, what i think is more amazing is all the stuff he knew about and how he explained it. Truly fascinating
The guy to the right with the grey shirt is the best hypeman to any speedrun I've seen so far.
127 hours, 6 characters, and the farthest I've ever gone is just after you meet Paarthurnax.
I'm level 83 lol
Connor C I'm level 174... 300 hours...
First speed run I have ever watched. Figured I'd give it a try. Paused halfway through to get some food and restart my dryer. I feel like I need to rush to get my food and eat it lol ate my pizza in about 2 mins XD
The Elder Scrolls : Skyrim
(Pizza %)
Pizza speed run time record?
There's a lot of categories and conditions:
How many slices?
Brooklyn or Deep Dish?
How many toppings?
With or without breadsticks?
The list goes on. XD
Dark Souls speed runs are very fun to watch. I recommend those. :)
Love watching Wymorn, I've watched so many of his Skyrim speedruns haha
Its great to have a speedrunner explain everything in such detail thank you agdq!
THE GAME COULDN'T HANDLE THE PLATTER
lol man very entertaining to watch. Guy is good at explaining
This run gets better and better every year.
I like the idea of speedrunning in general, but IN MY OPINION exploiting bugs like what he did at 16 minutes with the bowl, or the infinite sprint, and especially that chest one that skips half the game... i mean this is not completing the game ( even if by doing only nescessary parts), its using bugs to skip it
Just want to point out that im not saying this doesn't take skill, because some of the tricks he did were really impressive
***** I didn't know about that, sorry. I tought a speedrun was completing all the necessary parts of the game as fast as possible.
Speed runs are also classified differently, ones with glitches and ones without (probably more variations), but the glitches are a lot more interesting.
I agree with that, seeing how they can exploit the game is very interesting. I prefer the ones without just because i like to see how much time one takes to beat game the legit way, but both are awesome to watch really.
Artur Oliveira I understand what you're saying and it's how I and most people feel when they first discover speed running. But after watching it get completed once normally you realise there is way more skill in the glitch/tricks methods.
Some games have very hard to do glitches and pulling them all off in one run perfectly is many times harder than playing the game normally and it's something to tune in for after the first watch.
It also keeps the games fresh when new methods come out, in a normal run through it's typically the same route and methods because it's fairly easy to figure out how to play the glitchless game the fastest.
Glitches and cheats are two very different things, if they use glitches to win, that's fine, but using cheats (console command and shit) that's just bullshit.
+Black The Nerevar Funch Console commands aren't cheats. technically they're programmed into the game. TCL weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (the most common noclip code)
+Jayjay used since doom xD
Yuno Akise Oh hello Yuno. how's Yuki doing?
Jayjay very good thank you :3
+Yuno Akise HE IS DEAD. YOU JUST CANNOT ACCEPT IT.
Here i am, 5 years after the release and i still haven't finished the game
This is the first video I've watched on this channel and I'm here on the day they release my favorite game
I really like the enjoyment and excitement of the couchsitters. Normally they're completely silent and don't add anything but this was really fun
1hr speed run skyrim? Takes me 1hrs just to create my character... :/
his wallclips are on fleek
+Cannibal potato lesbian that word should be banned.
+jgallag90 You should..should be banned. jk
+Alex Henderson gr8 b8 m8
+Caylum Henderson no h8 just r8 or apreci8
wow probably the only speeedrun that still takes about an hour
Skyrim is AWESOME
nah some games still take a long time, i think majoras mask is 4 hours still
No Name WorksHe said probably,so practicaly he's a noob Kappa
***** hahah
SlinkyCheesedog kek
speedruns have changed so much my god
Everything in the video is quiet as hell until they clap, then it's loud as shit. Great....
This a story for a orc lvl 1 defeat alduin with no armour, no upgrades, no shit !
Actually its a Dark Elf and it leveled to Level 2 after fighting Alduin the first time
NO, shut up bitch ..
Brian Ginex yeah okay, its an orc. Whatever you say.
SirAlexch02 Zoy'd?
great speedrun! I've learnt many things from watching this! :D
That was pretty fast, gg Wymorn :)
For all guys who are saying, that using glitches in speedruns is cheating and easier than a normal run...
Speedrunners have to practice a damn fucking lot to get a glitch to work. It can kill a run if you don´t get it the first time or do it one time wrong! Such Runners have more Skill than everyone else who play the game normally, because the need to learn such tricks for hours, days, weeks and months to get them fast & safe!
Glitches are mistakes in the game, to use them is no shame, cheats are wrong, you say the game to do something, which was non intenden by the developers & the game itself.
even tho i wouldnt do a speedrun myself i have to say watching these is interesting!(aslong as its a game u know)
Run starts about 12:00
You da real MVP
If somebody think this guy is not skilled, just try to bunnyjump in HL1, its lesson 1, this guy is at lesson 41126
+much wow Actually, there was a lot of weird stuff going on with the HL-engine ... I remember having a lot of strange map-packs for the first versions of CounterStrike. Surf-Maps have been a highlight! :D
Shouldn't they stop the timer if the game crashes? Sick run btw.
When you're glitching the game and passing through the story so quickly, crashes are to be expected so they don't stop the time
TheGamingCreeper Oh, right. I'm just used to the game crashing on a regular playthrough, for me it's really unstable for some reason.
TheGamingCreeper correction, it's a bethesda game so crashes are expected.
Why is Anders Breivik commenting on a video game speed run?
LOL didnt notice xD
He likes video games. Doesn't get access to too many games in jail, so he just fucks around and speedruns the ones he has.
Amazing speed run.. I love the Elder scrolls games..been playin since Daggerfall (was too wee when Arena came out) ... not a speed runner myself.. I am one of those people that will explore til my next birthday.. The speed runs in Morrowind would piss me off and needless to say I am glad they booted levitation potions.. that being said, the glitches do suck in these games, but his time is still awesome.. Cannot wait for the next Elder scrolls.... and the online game.. but IMO elder scrolls will always be a single player first person/third person RPG
Skyrim beaten in an hour? I've got 300 hours in and I haven't seen the ending yet.
Is that sloth on the couch?
it is
57:35! The guy in the second row! 😂
"NO DON'T CLAP, DON'T CLAP IT'S NOT THAT HARD!"
Best part of any speedrun I've ever seen.
300+hours and havent finished :DD
you're lying
+Ronaldo Killergod He's most likely not, the most time I've spent on a single run of Skyrim is 394 hours.
When I was about 200 hours in, I was only about done with my modding. So I can vouch for him.
Someone please explain how people can request 'skill' instead of glitches? A lot of these glitches take skill, not just to perform but also to set up at speed.
Well... that was needlessly offensive. Someone needs a sandwich.
Seriously, practice makes perfect isn't a defense about glitches being skillful. They practice the glitches, yes, but they're still skilled at it. Regardless of age, skill is dictated by how well they can do something. The glitch the game easily and quickly, which is a skill.
Your main form of attack is the idea that practice is all you need to be good at glitching. You know what else needs practice? Playing games. Very rarely can you finish a game all the way through without needing to practice or get the hang of something.
Also, find me a chimp who can blacksmith AND drive a rally car, and I might see your side of the argument.
Jay Zakaz
sandwich sounds good, but thats not the point here. skill = practice, practice = skill
anyone can practice something enough to master it, a child can master a piano or violin(those are very true). edit: what you are referring to when saying "skill is dictated by how well they can do something." is actually inherent talent, which only some people have, everyone can be skilled at something, but only truly talented people can do something WAY better than others who are only skilled at something. talented people are normally the only people that can innovate in the thing they are talented at, skilled people can only just do certain things in that same profession, they normally cannot innovate in the selected field.
i dont know if anyone has tried to train a chimp to drive rally cars and blacksmith, but it is possible.
point being, glitching a game is easy after enough practice and knowing how to do the glitch, i know this because i have gamed with glitchers that teach noobs how to bunny-hop and change cfg files so they can see through walls. glitchers are a cancer in gaming, they never stop using glitches like drug addiction and it eventually leads to a game's death if it has multiplayer, because they ruin it with over-saturation of glitching and hacking.
Your argument is about how glitches aren't skilled, is that correct? Skill develops from practice, so practicing glitches makes you skillful.
I'm not arguing that glitches can break games, that's WHY I can see it as a skillful thing to do, to be able to constantly plan ahead, manipulate RNG, work out the fastest route, it's all incredible difficult to do, even with practice.
Yes, some people use glitches to get an unfair advantage, but Speedrunners, people who usually want to finish a game as fast as possible, I doubt they'd use these skills to evil ends.
Regardless, the original argument is that Glitching a game precisely and quickly as they do, as well as working out routes, finding new paths and sometimes having to remember things to the slightest detail, is skillful. You can't demand they show skill by playing the game normally, because it undermines who they are.
They are Runners. They run games, they don't play games. Glitches are shortcuts in the great marathon. You might see it as cheating, or unfair, but I see it as people who've studied the route, and found a gap in some trees.
Skill comes in many different forms, but what I can gather from your comments is that you think skill only comes from people practicing.
Glitching a game is easy when you know how, but that rule applies to everything. Playing a piano is easy when you know how, playing a violin is easy when you know how. Those are skills, and so is running games.
Jay Zakaz
read you whole post and basically you are right about being skillful and practicing for perfection or mastery. however that isnt my argument, my argument is essentially that glitchers and abuse of glitches does not require someone with skill, skill can make glitching easier, but lets be honest here, this glitch twits arent doing anything that cant be done by a regular 12 year-old idiot CoD player with enough practice and telling him or her about the glitches. i saw nothing in that entire video that showed anything that was exemplary or extraordinary. all i saw was some dipshit glitcher who has probably used those glitches over 1000 times in order to get it down. he probably didn't even discover many if any of those glitches, someone else most likely TOLD him how to do them and where.
basically i saw a trained chimp repeat something he was taught how to do many times. no innovation, no creativity, just repetition ad nauseam.
Justin English
yeah you see that person everyday in a mirror dumbshit. i agreed on basic premise, and stated that they were incorrect in the use of the word to describe what they were referring to. fuckin autistic adhd crackbaby.
* Trying to speedrun TES *
"So I do that to speed up the...oh...that tree is pretty...what's that over there?...I want to investigate one sec...what am I doing?...no fuck you it's swag"
hahahaha agree
He ran over NIRNROOT. That's not happening with me.
ProBro's reaction to the platter at 26:15 was great
Broman is so excited throughout the run.
honestly if a game crashes like that the time should be stopped and started once youre going again.
40mIKe04 The hell is your profile picture?
ALLAHU AKBAR my mom
40mIKe04 lolled so hard
How does hardware play on a PC speed run? is there a certain build they have to follow or is it whatever you want.
HG Shurtugal Your PC has to be strong to complete some glitches as it takes more processing power.
***** What? How... why... what? If you can run the game, you can run the glitches exactly as you run the game.
+tomol6 Also in Half Life (not 2) you can't make some jumps if you have too high or low an FPS
Cameron Ogilvie On what computer are you going to have low FPS on Half-Life?
+Alexander Eliasson Psychonauts is a game where some glitches are framerate dependant. There is a cool speedrun on DoubleFine's channel
This is a pretty sick MIrror's Edge speed run
You tried.
This is fucking amazing, I take a hour to even finish a mission . . .
Is that Broman on the sofa?
I just realized that
I believe the guy that is talking that we can't see is teawrex and the guy in the back that you mentioned is indeed broman
37:35 it is professer broman
47:35 sorry
There is always one cringy guy in these speedruns
+Lets Play Hero totally looked full of himself
+WhiteChocolate Who?
+Matt Weismiller Guy in the front row on the right.
Durr Listen to the message and not care about the messenger.
You mean Professor Broman?
I remember this like yesterday...
By the nine! you completed the game in less than an hour
Wymorns done some better runs but this one was good
Of course this a marathon, not a world record run.
Warning: around 40:00 the announcer hollers "EXPLOSION NOISE" like a jackass
you need to play borderlands 2.
If that's the kind of thing that the announcer in Borderlands 2 does, I'd rather nail my balls to a block of wood than play BL2
24:48 Microsoft...disable those shortcuts!
46:43 "Learn the location of the Elder Scroll" **brings out Elder Scroll**
amazing run keep it up
I'd like to see a 100% speed run of this game.
dstebbin First DEFINE a 100% speedrun. Then get the Skryim speedrun community to agree to it. No one has been able to do that yet.
MegaZeroX7 All gold all loot everything you can do/take
Name So, infinite amount of time, as some loot respawns. In fact, some quests also repeat (infinite quests). So your defined 100% wouldn't work.
Exactly
I just defined what it means
i finished the game in 502 hours :(
Atleast you'll have great splits!
GeseIIschaft splits?
K13Good im not even going to....... why are you here?
100% wr hype :)
K13Good
Speed running term, oftentimes various parts of the game will be broken into parts. Like, lets say when you get to Esbern that denotes a certain point in the game, so a player will keep a record of how long it took to get to that point. Splits help a person to see if they are losing or gaining time, and if they did certain sections better/worse than their current best.
I do like your speedruns, but I think I like playing skyrim along with story and properly.
I miss Skyrim. Eagerly awaiting the next elder scrolls for the xbox one.
what was the joke about fallout 3?
it's a walking simulator. lots and lots of walking
Kappa //
i didnt beat the game untill i had like 200+ hours played :D
Best walkthrough of skyrim ever 😏😏😏😏
I hope TES6 Are more stable than the other games. I mean, Morrowind was stable-ish, Oblivion was fucked up and Skyrim is meh.
Morrowind's and Oblivion's stability are way over Skyrim's. Not for the glitches and bugs, but for the ability to avoid crashes both with and without mods.
flyingspagetti They really need to do something with that engine they're using. Or at least the physics engine because dat shitty/no collision. Then again I don't think there's an engine that does interactive open world better.
SangiNET Every game engine can be fine tuned to accomodate open world games filled with NPC and object interactions. The first one that comes to my mind is the cryengine. Another one might be frostbite, unreal, aurora and the cheap alternative, unity. Gamebryo specializes in that it can easily import 3rd party engines to complete a game's mechanics: Facegen (faces and facial animation), havok (physics) and speedtree (foliage) along with any custom made A.I. engine can produce a nice, but lacking result compared to other engines that include all these things in one package.

I'm still playing DaggerFall, Morrowind and Oblivion. Why should I stop playing an open-ended game that can be modded and add a thousand more possibilities to play it further? Although I could hardly reach my 7800 hours on DaggerFall with any recent TES game and both Morrowind and Oblivion are nearly approaching the end for me. Man, those were the games were the phrase "value for money" was meant literally.
flyingspagetti Yeah, and nowdays an expansion is a skin for a weapon you already have. Its pathetic.
Pretty amazing run. Though the commentary is painfully unfunny. Nerds trying too hard. Just embrace your nerd-dom. No need to cool it up.
There's lots of inside jokes, which is pretty nerdy. I enjoyed it.
Please turn off the mic of the pretentious guy on the couch for the next AGDQ.
From reading the comments , that's the developer LOL but yea he was annoying.
He actually provides information.
***** also, hes not even bald
see that brown patch on his head
***** That's Broman, whom many people think is a nice guy. However, I've heard him tell people to "get hit by a bus, and drink through a straw for the rest of their lives". He also will tell you "Go to bungie.net" for Destiny information, even though he currently makes a living playing Destiny. He's a douche.
jimmyqballs eh. at least he doesnt refer people to bethesda's site in the middle of a speedrun
if youre talking about him not helping people while hes playing destiny, he might be too busy or somthing
the bus thing is uncalled for tho
7.8/10 douche points
I cracked in the bucket jump, couldn't hold myself...!
I never understood speedrunning a game like Skyrim. The point is to take your time and experience everything. "finishing" the main story really fast seems like it would be hardly rewarding. It's not like the game is challenging in anyway it's all about the experience.
I understand your feeling but what he did is to change the Role-play-game experience into a Puzzle game experience and I admire that.
Im not debating it's a speedrun and sure finding all these tricks is something I could never do but I just don't see the fascination with a game like this to do a speedrun.
Heath Anderson Its just a challange. How fast could a person complete a game and how many ways could they move forward in ways the developers didn't intend.
Skyrim is a game to take your time with. But you understand what AGDQ conventions are?
I do my point is I just don't understand why Skyrim became a game that is speedrun besides the fact that you "can"
I've done one faster but I forgot to record it. Good try though.
Yea right😂
me too
YEAH NOOBZ!!! I DID IT IN FEEV MIRNUTES!LOLOOLOLOLOL FRIKKIN NOOBZ! -_- Seriously dude why would you ( If ur telling the truth) "forget" to record it?
Blade63696
I forgot to record it
Tony Jones Suuuuure you did
Its hurt to se this game like this it was one of my best games:(
this guy is really good
How is this a "speed run"? He's fucking cheating.
Speed runs are ALL glitches and tricks
*****
well assassins creed unity in 3 sec then?
Dude it was ironic since ACU has millions of bugs and glitches, one could assume if you search long enough and abuse this you will find a way for it to end in 3 sec. The 3 sec btw are the indicator how badly optimized this game is.
Hes glitching, not cheating
if were in topic, the most hilarious were Morrowind and Ravenloft 2 speedruns, both of which allowed literally get from start to an end instantly because of 1 bug ;P and in both cases it was the same problem of a obstacle which was supposed to kill but it was leaving a window allowing to survive.
This was actually really interesting to watch, the player went into detail on how and why he did the things he did and did his best to keep the amateur commentators on track when they'd go into autism fits like "HA GET REKT NERD EX DEE"
I remember falling off of that ledge in Winterhold accidentally (not in a speedrun attempt) getting ready to do a quick reload and then thinking, "well there's some water down there, I wonder just how unrealistic this engine can be..." and surprise...
The run starts at 15:20 enjoy
this guy have my respect o/
FACT: rpg characters in loin cloths are very good at glitching through walls

Just a general heads-up for Skyrim runners: High Elves are set at slightly (barely at all) taller than the other races so over long distances, they run faster and cover the ground better. Just a tidbit.
+IamTMan007 yeah, but you take Orc for the bezerker rage spell.
I like that speedrun because he explaines quite a lot of interesting technical background on the game.
Serious question, did he (and others) just try everything out or did they at least partly read the code for that? Because some of these technical information are very exact.
Most popular games have speedrunning communities that share the information they find through natural play or trying to break the game. Thats how they find these glitches and skips.
