    First of all thank you so much for trying to get solutions for people with people suffering with OSA, which like me, it is tearing their life apart. We all appreciate your work if it wasn’t for you and your team I don’t know where I’ll be right now. I have had a similar operation done on my spinal cord which had two implants connected to the one battery, and it was an absolute eye-opener on how difficult jobs like this, and not being because of the nerves stimulating different parts of the body. I’m two years past my implant and the neuro surgery and modulation team. Believe they finally found the correct settings for the nerves I need treated. Something important you told me in hospital in December was that this can only be done on people with a BMI of 30 and under so that’s something that we should all take notes of. Keep up the great work.

    Thanks so much for all the helpful videos

    Welcome to Jersey. Hackensack Hospital is noted as a great hospital with some of our best doctors. Hope you had a great time and got a chance to ate at some of Jersey finest restaurants or had a Taylor ham sandwich on a bagel only found in Jersey. Should have met with your Jersey fans. Thank you for the kudos to the Jersey physician and for identifying him for us.

      Thank you for the tip on Taylor Ham, will need to come back for that. I went to a place (called something and daughters) that had a long queue and crazy ticketing system but the bagels were really good.
      Also really nice to meet someone who seems dedicated to sleep surgery. Not many of us around. Want to thank Dr Mahmoud again for his generosity. Take care.

    my appointment on Jan 23rd is for Sleep apnea-I didn't realise I got referred for that from Darent Valley at the The Royal National ENT. But will see a member of the team and then will see you at the 2nd appointment I was told.
    I also phoned up Queen's ENT about my Turbnate Reduction for my inferiorTurbinates you will be doing and they said with the waiting lists will be very early Spring 👍🏻

    Thank you Dr Veer for bringing your work to the world through your videos and newsletter. Your idea for side sleeping has helped me hugely. In the newsletter I got today you say you are working on producing a specific device for comfortable side sleeping. I was so keen to try the backpack idea you mentioned in a previous video that I bought a small foldable backpack and put an inflatable beach ball inside. No oxygen sats under 92 since then. So simple! Thank you.🙏 The only problem I find is it makes me a bit hot at night so can I suggest that you try and find a natural fibre fabric to make your side sleeping device from. I am looking forward to seeing what you have come up with. Thanks again.🙂

    I hope im a candidate to have this implant for OSA. Does it work for all people? What’s the success rate. Who’s a great candidate and who isnt? Can you have this implant if you already have an implant for another area I have a scs implant. The device is never turned on during the night. I have a remote control and have total control of the unit! Looking forward to seeing Dr Rundakat on Tuesday 23rd

    Is it possible for a private foreign patient to receive diagnostic and therapeutic fee for service intervention for OSA at UCL? BTW, I funded an RCT at UCL (EDI) about 20 years ago.

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  8 місяців тому +1

      All of this stopped during COVID. I believe that the RNTNE is starting to accept private patients again, but it is very slow. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone better than me closer to home. I wish you the best.

    Hi Vik I hope you are well - I would really appreciate if you can answer my question I posted in your ENS video🙏🏽.
    Question - with your surgery to treat ENS under local anaesthesia, what exactly is involved? Is cartilage used to raise the floor of the nose? After surgery, how do your patients feel? Whats the success rate of achieving “normal” airflow?
    All the best Vik and we all appreciate what you do.

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  8 місяців тому +1

      cartilage, bone, fat - depends what is available and if I need to do a septoplasty as well. success rate is difficult to gauge as it's not a big part of my practice. so far i've been lucky but that's not a good indication. Most surgeons will say that the success rate is poor to avoid people thinking that they have the cure. We don't really know conclusively what is going on with ENS and therefore it would be hubristic to suggest otherwise.

    Do you think turbinates implant is possible? and if not why?

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  8 місяців тому +1

      It would only work if it was inserted and then slowly increased in size (inject with water) over a month or so. Allow the skin to grow with it. Doubt anyone will make it as manufacturers will consider it too small a market.

      I've got lots of follow up videos coming up. specifically i'll be talking about the Nerve of Mahmoud (and others in this area) to explain why it is a problem and why we should be looking for it. it causes poor results - poor protrusion and difficulty with being aware of stimulation. also i'll be talking about the evidence around HGN implants in another video.
      last point I need to tell everyone that finally we have the device so we can start implanting - they came a month early.. you heard it here first :)
