Bleach TYBW was one of the most read mangas last year & thats that it ended 2016. Japan tokyo tv had Bleach as the most watched in PURE ANIME but got surpassed by Boruto/Naruto overall due to merchandise/games.
Some misinformation here and there like bleach getting cancelled. It was just put on a hiatus so the anime wouldn't have to make any fillers. This is even backed up by the fact the blood war was green lit a year after the mangas end. There may be some other things I'd argue that aren't necessarily that important but otherwise, great video.
Bleach have a special place in my heart. I heard so many good things about black clover, but when I started watching it, I didn't find good, it felt like the whole series is on bad filler arc level, but had it's potential. After 52 episodes without an interesting villain, fight or backstory I dropped it. While I watched I always thinking about all time "I grow out from anime?" and "Now I hating anime?". I felt really bad. My friends recommend Bleach and it was amazing, Soul Society arc reminded me why I love watching anime. Amazing story, amazing characters and amazing fights. Bleach had me back to anime and I will never forget it.
If Bleach had a better pacing and never had filler arcs he would be great and more watchable for the viewers I wish the first get reanimated with a good pacing and with good animation quality

To me, it was the fullbring arc. It never really worked for me. It even felt like a filler in the Manga. BUT TYBW made up for it, only downside was the rushed ending what wasn't Kubos fault. I'm looking forward to the new arc.

I’ve wanted to watch Bleach for a while but it’s only on Disney Plus in Australia and I don’t want to give Disney a single cent. Can’t find DVD’s or Blu rays either so may have to wait a while longer.
I will die on this hill that Bleach only works in black and white. Most of the symbolism revolves around black and white so that really breaks down in color, Bleach is a very somber and tone driven story and that introspective, quiet tone the manga has breaks down with backgrounds, color, and music. With these that the anime adds it turns it into a very standard shonen as all the special parts are lost. The closest two examples for how this would look as an anime is Hollow Ichigo vs Byakuya (when it turns black and white and loses the backgrounds) and that one opening theme song that is partially in black and white where Ichigo breaks into the Espada meeting room.

@@nerdcorner2680 As someone that has read the whole manga in both black and white and color I just don't agree at all. Color makes certain aspects pop way more and just straight up look better most of the time. Black and white has areas where it excels and I can see your point, but as a whole that is a pretty crazy take IMO. It's like pointing at the few times the dub works better than the sub and then saying the sub doesn't work at all.
At the time the anime stopped it sold more DVDs than naruto and one piece so i find it hard to believe it was cancelled. I know DVD sales aren't the only metric for success but aside from gintama (which sold even more DVDs than bleach), naruto and one piece were like the most successful things at that time. We never got any confirmation about why and nobody truly knows the reason it stopped for sure. Even if people pretend that they know like they say it was so they didn't make any more filler. There's nothing saying that anywhere except people guessing. But it just doesn't make sense to cancel it if it was selling that well. So it's more likely it ended for a different reason. We found out it got greenlit shortly after the manga ended so maybe it really was just put on hold until the manga ended so there was no filler and the pacing was faster (even though the filler sold well too). But nobody can say that 100% cause really we don't know. It's just a likely reason. Ironically TYBW cour 1 sold much worse than even the bount arc. But thats what happens when you go away for 10 years and don't come back with the most amazing product ever. Safe to say they didn't really do a good job keeping people's attention though since the first ever trailer got more views than the chainsawman one did but nothing after that even came close. If you want to know why studio pierrot is pronounced the way it is look up pierrot into google its like a clown or something. French or Italian idk. Like pierrot le fou from cowboy bebop

Bleach anime wasn't canceled, it was postpone because when the original anime finished only 5 or so manga chapters were out. Meaning the TYBW just started and they could bareley animate a canon episode, so they decided to just wait untill Kubo finishes the manga. And all of this was confirmed by the Rukia's japanese voice actress. Doesn't help the fact that around that time filler episodes were started to be considered a plague around the anime community. I guess, and this is just a speculation on my part, the producers were starting to notice and they didn't want to continue a series with bad filler and bad pacing in fear of losing money. But than again, this is just my speculation.
I rage quit Bleach after the fallbringer arc, I thought nothing could be done to redeem this show after that and I still do the only reason I started watching the new season recently is because I hope to do something about the anger I still feel over it, is the reason you didn’t mention anything about that arc even though you showed a few clips from it because you didn’t want to talk about it? if so I don’t blame you
I will say this is where a return was great whereas contrary to most people, I didn't like HxH comeback, it was too colorful and preppy, fine for the early seasons but honestly ruined the atmosphere of the most popular arc Yorkshin city, Im glad we got Chimera ant arc bc of it but it lacked a lot of that 90's grungy darkness. Even in the earliest parts, Hisoka under bloodlust during the full moon was severely underwhelming..... Bleach did it right, high quality without saccrificing the atmosphere and tone.

Pretty good analysis! But I wonder if fillers is really the downfall? One Piece at a certain arc did not have fillers but have stretch out episodes and flashbacks of previous episodes stalling for time. And then there is Naruto.....the king of fillers and of flashbacks! Flashbackception. The flashbacks within the flashbacks will get so bad, that I decided to quit Shippuden and go straight to the manga and it was such a great decision to make, because oh boy was it painful to watch. People complain of the Vaunt arc filler in Bleach which is a masterpiece compare to the filler arcs that Naruto had. You do not understand true pain until you watch Naruto' fillers. I finally understood that Pain/Nagato was right. Nagato should have Shinra Tensei those fillers. I think maybe I am in the minority when I say....I actually really like.....the Bleach fillers...... Dragon Ball also has fillers and '"5 minutes of Namek". The true pioneer in stalling for time. I have seen so many fillers in animes and Bleach's fillers are actually top quality. So I wonder if fillers are one reason why Bleach anime ratings went down, how come One Piece anime and Naruto Shippuden (especially Shippuden) manage to stay at the top in the anime world? My opinion is that One Piece and Naruto are that much popular than Bleach in Japan (especially One Piece, OP is crazy in Japan, like DB crazy). It is because they are that popular that even their fillers or their one chapter episodes could continue for that long. Heck I still watch One Piece anime. I cannot stop, and yet when the anime finally stops stalling, it is peak. But.....if it was not One Piece any other anime would have been cancelled a long time ago. So I truly wonder what made Bleach ratings go that low? If it was that unpopular, nobody would have made a new sequel comeback. I got to say the last arc on Bleach on the manga, I really did not feel it. It was both great and boring at the same time for me. I quit many times, and pick it right back up. So many times! Some times, a year or two would happen when I continue reading it. So when I saw cour 1 and 2, of this arc as anime adaptation....I actually enjoy it greatly. Heck it may be one of my favorite arcs now. It's so damn good! I do not know how others may feel about the TYBW arc, the creator of the video seems to love that arc in the manga, but for me it was like Evangelion, sometimes a 10 and sometimes a 0. Its the same feelings that I have with Dragon Ball, there are times that I think , "Dragon Ball is bad" and there are times I think, "Dragon Ball is the greatest series in the world". But TYBW was more bad to me than good while I was reading it. But the anime adaptation cour 1 and 2, makes me think, "Wait, did I actually not enjoy this arc? Why!?". I cannot really explain it very well, but in my perspective the anime has a way better flow and pace that the manga had when each chapter was coming out. I actually enjoy the anime's TYBW way better than the manga. I am not saying one has to be really bad, and another had to be very good, if you like the manga and anime's version of TYBW, then good, but for me its very weird, like I say, I am enjoying the anime version much more than the manga.
Cour 1 was the most epic comeback Bleach could ask for. Unfortunately, Cour 2 exposed many of the flaws in the pacing of the manga aswell as the storyline. That Squad 0 Bankai didn't make things any easier.
I liked the bount arc ot was a bit long and the zanpockto arc was amazing and si well done. Id live to dee something like this again. The zanpockto arc was so cool ans a good example of writing being well done with trying something different.
gonna be honest the tybw anime sucks to me. i read tybw years ago and loved it so much so obviously i had high hopes for the anime especially since there was new content coming out and they were fixing the issues with the arc. but when the first episode dropped i just felt so empty inside. so much content has been cut and i can’t seem to enjoy it like i do the manga. ppl say the only cut content is small stuff but when you cut out enough small stuff you basically just get a bare bones straightforward abridged version of the arc. it makes the pacing feel awkward and things just happen way too fast that it feels like they’re just brushing through important moments. if they gave us time to breathe with the pacing, it would hit SO much harder. i don’t even wanna get into the animation because it’s so controversial but i’ll do it anyways. it’s so bad. hard hitters like jjk, demon slayer, chainsaw man, etc we’re getting GOD tier adaptations where every second of the shows were doing everything they could to elevate the manga but bleach… yikes. i can only explain it by saying there’s 2 types of bleach tybw episodes. ep 6 and not ep 6. minimal movement, awful storyboards, horrible compositing it seemed like they were under a time crunch 24/7. it got better in cour 2 but man… cour 1 was ROUGH. imo the art style is way too glossy and it’s hard to get used to especially since bleach isn’t a series i’d describe as “glossy”. you see fights in jjk and demon slayer where there’s constant movement and cool camera tricks and visual effects even when characters are just talking but if you remove the detail from the character models it just looks like a lower budget anime (again cour 2 is WAY better than cour 1 so not too big of a problem). as a bleach fan of many many years i just can’t help but feel disappointed especially since so many of my favorite small moments have been cut it makes for a much more bare bones experience. the crazy thing is the only ppl who love this adaptation are the die hard bleach fans. i’m sorry but i have to agree with the non die hards who can see this adaptation for what it is. i can’t sit here and say this is a god tier adaptation when shows like demon slayer exist. this adaptation just seems rushed and bland and sucks all the life out of kubo’s amazing work but bleach fans can’t understand that because they’re too busy thinking about the pretty colors (despite the old anime having much better peaks in animation). it was a tough pill to swallow tbh, but after i accepted it i enjoyed the manga even more than i did before. i hope cour 3 can be better and so far it actually looks like it’ll be the best so far

@@newtronvagabonds2985 The style is "Every frame a painting" meaning each frame needs to look great and highly detailed by itself, but there are often less frames overall. This is done to stick close to Kubo's amazing art. It's a stylistic choice at the end of the day. If you are more in the animation priority over individual frames camp (Naruto vs Pain being the classic example), that is fine. It's a taste thing at the end of the day. Bleach is not trying to do that and I think it is better for it personally. The fights still look great and are built on constant epic moments and great writting.

I dont have any nostalgic feelings for bleach, and i decided to read it. Aaaaand... For me it is jjk, but worse: without any stakes, with very boring mc and even more boring mcs ability. I read it only for Kenpachi, Yoroichi, Kisuke and Mayri. So people, pls, can you explain why everyone love this series besides nostalgia? I see there things, that was done muuuuch better, than in Naruto, but that's doesn't help with cliche on a cliche that main plot is. I swear to god, if i read/hear "when he became so strong" from a women character again...
I watched it in 2022 and its my favourite. Nostalgia doesnt play a role in my eyes ,boring mc ,without stakes,i i disagree with your take and he is more interesting than itadori ever was ,lets just say i understand bleach better thats why i love it more , jjk and bleach are both stories about death , one idiolises it and teaches to how get over it , the other teaches how death is somber and undisriminant but they are two differently based stories , each of their own bleach does a better job at what its trying to say 🙏
@@luffys_ as a character - yes ichigo more interesting, he is not typical shower half-loser guy, I like that very much, but his powers is boring overall. Yuji throwing hands must get creative with it, doing cool dynamic fights, using his environment, even tho he don't have literally anything, besides soul punches, that potentially can learn anyone. Ichigo just goes, do few sword swipes, then throw getsuga tenshou, and either wins or loses.

I’ve wanted to watch Bleach for a while but it’s only on Disney Plus in Australia and I don’t want to give Disney a single cent. Can’t find DVD’s or Blu rays either so may have to wait a while longer.
I will die on this hill that Bleach only works in black and white. Most of the symbolism revolves around black and white so that really breaks down in color, Bleach is a very somber and tone driven story and that introspective, quiet tone the manga has breaks down with backgrounds, color, and music. With these that the anime adds it turns it into a very standard shonen as all the special parts are lost. The closest two examples for how this would look as an anime is Hollow Ichigo vs Byakuya (when it turns black and white and loses the backgrounds) and that one opening theme song that is partially in black and white where Ichigo breaks into the Espada meeting room.

Color makes certain aspects pop way more and just straight up look better most of the time. Black and white has areas where it excels and I can see your point, but as a whole that is a pretty crazy take IMO. It's like pointing at the few times the dub works better than the sub and then saying the sub doesn't work at all.

These clickbait titles are crazy. Bleach is considered 1 of the 'Big 3' for a reason
Bleach being in the big 3 has NOTHING to do with the anime, it was based off manga sales.
At the time the anime stopped it sold more DVDs than naruto and one piece so i find it hard to believe it was cancelled. I know DVD sales aren't the only metric for success but aside from gintama (which sold even more DVDs than bleach), naruto and one piece were like the most successful things at that time.
We never got any confirmation about why and nobody truly knows the reason it stopped for sure. Even if people pretend that they know like they say it was so they didn't make any more filler. There's nothing saying that anywhere except people guessing.
But it just doesn't make sense to cancel it if it was selling that well. So it's more likely it ended for a different reason. We found out it got greenlit shortly after the manga ended so maybe it really was just put on hold until the manga ended so there was no filler and the pacing was faster (even though the filler sold well too). But nobody can say that 100% cause really we don't know. It's just a likely reason.
Ironically TYBW cour 1 sold much worse than even the bount arc. But thats what happens when you go away for 10 years and don't come back with the most amazing product ever. Safe to say they didn't really do a good job keeping people's attention though since the first ever trailer got more views than the chainsawman one did but nothing after that even came close.

@@Prushinthespirit They literally could’ve just put the anime on hold for a few months cause most of Studio Pierrots older anime’s didn’t even have fillers, Not to mention they have characters from the Bount arc shown up in canon episodes of the Arancar arc, it literally destroyed the source material Kubo himself was pissed about it.
Bleach anime wasn't canceled, it was postpone because when the original anime finished only 5 or so manga chapters were out. Meaning the TYBW just started and they could bareley animate a canon episode, so they decided to just wait untill Kubo finishes the manga. And all of this was confirmed by the Rukia's japanese voice actress.
Doesn't help the fact that around that time filler episodes were started to be considered a plague around the anime community. I guess, and this is just a speculation on my part, the producers were starting to notice and they didn't want to continue a series with bad filler and bad pacing in fear of losing money. But than again, this is just my speculation.
I rage quit Bleach after the fallbringer arc, I thought nothing could be done to redeem this show after that and I still do the only reason I started watching the new season recently is because I hope to do something about the anger I still feel over it, is the reason you didn’t mention anything about that arc even though you showed a few clips from it because you didn’t want to talk about it? if so I don’t blame you

I will say this is where a return was great whereas contrary to most people, I didn't like HxH comeback, it was too colorful and preppy, fine for the early seasons but honestly ruined the atmosphere of the most popular arc Yorkshin city, Im glad we got Chimera ant arc bc of it but it lacked a lot of that 90's grungy darkness.

But I wonder if fillers is really the downfall? One Piece at a certain arc did not have fillers but have stretch out episodes and flashbacks of previous episodes stalling for time. And then there is Naruto.....the king of fillers and of flashbacks! Flashbackception. The flashbacks within the flashbacks will get so bad, that I decided to quit Shippuden and go straight to the manga and it was such a great decision to make, because oh boy was it painful to watch.
People complain of the Vaunt arc filler in Bleach which is a masterpiece compare to the filler arcs that Naruto had. You do not understand true pain until you watch Naruto' fillers. I finally understood that Pain/Nagato was right. Nagato should have Shinra Tensei those fillers.
I think maybe I am in the minority when I say....I actually really like.....the Bleach fillers......
Dragon Ball also has fillers and '"5 minutes of Namek". The true pioneer in stalling for time. I have seen so many fillers in animes and Bleach's fillers are actually top quality.
So I wonder if fillers are one reason why Bleach anime ratings went down, how come One Piece anime and Naruto Shippuden (especially Shippuden) manage to stay at the top in the anime world?
My opinion is that One Piece and Naruto are that much popular than Bleach in Japan (especially One Piece, OP is crazy in Japan, like DB crazy). It is because they are that popular that even their fillers or their one chapter episodes could continue for that long. Heck I still watch One Piece anime. I cannot stop, and yet when the anime finally stops stalling, it is peak. But.....if it was not One Piece any other anime would have been cancelled a long time ago.
So I truly wonder what made Bleach ratings go that low? If it was that unpopular, nobody would have made a new sequel comeback. So it is popular enough for a come back with a better budget, but why did it stop before? Were the fillers that bad? Like I say I think I'm the minority when I say, I love the bleach fillers.
I got to say the last arc on Bleach on the manga, I really did not feel it. It was both great and boring at the same time for me. I quit many times, and pick it right back up. So many times! Some times, a year or two would happen when I continue reading it.
So when I saw cour 1 and 2, of this arc as anime adaptation....I actually enjoy it greatly. Heck it may be one of my favorite arcs now. It's so damn good! I do not know how others may feel about the TYBW arc, the creator of the video seems to love that arc in the manga, but for me it was like Evangelion, sometimes a 10 and sometimes a 0. Its the same feelings that I have with Dragon Ball, there are times that I think , "Dragon Ball is bad" and there are times I think, "Dragon Ball is the greatest series in the world". But TYBW was more bad to me than good while I was reading it.
But the anime adaptation cour 1 and 2, makes me think, "Wait, did I actually not enjoy this arc? Why!?". I cannot really explain it very well, but in my perspective the anime has a way better flow and pace that the manga had when each chapter was coming out.
I actually enjoy the anime's TYBW way better than the manga. I am not saying one has to be really bad, and another had to be very good, if you like the manga and anime's version of TYBW, then good, but for me its very weird, like I say, I am enjoying the anime version much more than the manga.
Cour 1 was the most epic comeback Bleach could ask for. Unfortunately, Cour 2 exposed many of the flaws in the pacing of the manga aswell as the storyline. That Squad 0 Bankai didn't make things any easier.

I liked the bount arc ot was a bit long and the zanpockto arc was amazing and si well done. Id live to dee something like this again. The zanpockto arc was so cool ans a good example of writing being well done with trying something different.
gonna be honest the tybw anime sucks to me. i read tybw years ago and loved it so much so obviously i had high hopes for the anime especially since there was new content coming out and they were fixing the issues with the arc. but when the first episode dropped i just felt so empty inside. so much content has been cut and i can’t seem to enjoy it like i do the manga. ppl say the only cut content is small stuff but when you cut out enough small stuff you basically just get a bare bones straightforward abridged version of the arc. it makes the pacing feel awkward and things just happen way too fast that it feels like they’re just brushing through important moments. if they gave us time to breathe with the pacing, it would hit SO much harder. i don’t even wanna get into the animation because it’s so controversial but i’ll do it anyways. it’s so bad. hard hitters like jjk, demon slayer, chainsaw man, etc we’re getting GOD tier adaptations where every second of the shows were doing everything they could to elevate the manga but bleach… yikes. i can only explain it by saying there’s 2 types of bleach tybw episodes. ep 6 and not ep 6. minimal movement, awful storyboards, horrible compositing it seemed like they were under a time crunch 24/7. it got better in cour 2 but man… cour 1 was ROUGH. imo the art style is way too glossy and it’s hard to get used to especially since bleach isn’t a series i’d describe as “glossy”. you see fights in jjk and demon slayer where there’s constant movement and cool camera tricks and visual effects even when characters are just talking but if you remove the detail from the character models it just looks like a lower budget anime (again cour 2 is WAY better than cour 1 so not too big of a problem). as a bleach fan of many many years i just can’t help but feel disappointed especially since so many of my favorite small moments have been cut it makes for a much more bare bones experience. the crazy thing is the only ppl who love this adaptation are the die hard bleach fans. i’m sorry but i have to agree with the non die hards who can see this adaptation for what it is. i can’t sit here and say this is a god tier adaptation when shows like demon slayer exist. this adaptation just seems rushed and bland and sucks all the life out of kubo’s amazing work but bleach fans can’t understand that because they’re too busy thinking about the pretty colors (despite the old anime having much better peaks in animation). it was a tough pill to swallow tbh, but after i accepted it i enjoyed the manga even more than i did before. i hope cour 3 can be better and so far it actually looks like it’ll be the best so far

@@newtronvagabonds2985 The style is "Every frame a painting" meaning each frame needs to look great and highly detailed by itself, but there are often less frames overall. This is done to stick close to Kubo's amazing art.
It's a stylistic choice at the end of the day. If you are more in the animation priority over individual frames camp (Naruto vs Pain being the classic example), that is fine. It's a taste thing at the end of the day. Bleach is not trying to do that and I think it is better for it personally. The fights still look great and are built on constant epic moments and great writting.

I dont have any nostalgic feelings for bleach, and i decided to read it. Aaaaand... For me it is jjk, but worse: without any stakes, with very boring mc and even more boring mcs ability. I read it only for Kenpachi, Yoroichi, Kisuke and Mayri. So people, pls, can you explain why everyone love this series besides nostalgia? I see there things, that was done muuuuch better, than in Naruto, but that's doesn't help with cliche on a cliche that main plot is. I swear to god, if i read/hear "when he became so strong" from a women character again...
I watched it in 2022 and its my favourite. Nostalgia doesnt play a role in my eyes ,boring mc ,without stakes,i i disagree with your take and he is more interesting than itadori ever was ,lets just say i understand bleach better thats why i love it more , jjk and bleach are both stories about death , one idiolises it and teaches to how get over it , the other teaches how death is somber and undisriminant but they are two differently based stories , each of their own bleach does a better job at what its trying to say 🙏

Yuji throwing hands must get creative with it, doing cool dynamic fights, using his environment, even tho he don't have literally anything, besides soul punches, that potentially can learn anyone. Ichigo just goes, do few sword swipes, then throw getsuga tenshou, and either wins or loses.

One piece is king but to me bleach is still amazing man it’s just got the Naruto effect writing wise n ending is horrible but it’s still legendary
