The problem I think is with your usage... It's nearly one month since I have been using this phone... I have done all the updates... Even after light gaming, multitasking, video and photo capturing, I am getting a full 13 hrs of Screen On Time... Maybe you should do your aupdates overnight, rather than just downloading and installing it and going on using the phone right away... If you handle your phone with utmost care, it will give you the best it has to offer. The optimisation of software depends on the usage of your phone too... Manufacturers are no the only culprits in this case.

Flat display is practical and much more reliable than curved, heck finding a good tampered glass itself is quite a hassle.
Also if your display gets damaged it will be expensive to replace.So I personally prefer flat display.
