Love the "Vinyl record pop" in the intro, nothing like the warmth of vinyl .... regardless of how far we come with respect to music production, vinyl on a top notch turntable with a good needle will always be tops for me.
Wow that came out great, Del. And your photography and production work is amazing! (Just got home... hope your own weather clears up a bit for both of you...) 🏍👍🏍
Hey Gary.. been seeing on the TV here about the Hurricane that just rattled through over there.. hope it passed you by buddy... and her?, this is just typical English weather.. three seasons in one day..lol!
Moonfleet41 thx, Del. We’re fine here in Delaware. Just watching this devastation further south is heartbreaking. Thx for your note- regards to both of you. 🏍👍🏍
Another enthralling episode, Del. Great to watch. Patience, artistic vision and polished skills - what a powerful combination. Yes, the plate does need to be illuminated and your plan will work as long as the little lights are w'proofed. That tail section is a proper job, Del. Well done, mate! 👍 Regards to you both.
Thank you Sir, that's very kind of you! I valuve hand skills a great deal, it's great to take the time to craft something of quality, appreciate your support, D&Px
Hi Del, don't know if you'll even see this, but I just wanted to drop my first comment after watching you for three years haha, I love watching your videos, I've learned so much from you and it has helped me build my own vfr400, you really are an inspiration, don't change mate! You're doing great, I'd love to meet you one day, anyway have a great day, just wanted to share the love :) your bike has changed so much from episode one and you're such a perfectionist with your tiny detailing, really does make a world of difference, you're a very skilled bloke, seriously keep up the amazing work, as usual, looking forward to the next vid, watched every one so far haha
Hi Elliot,. Thank you for getting in touch, and for supporting the channel for so long, its great to hear from you, and glad the videos in some way could help you get on with your VFR400, Thank you also for your very kind words,. we really appreciate it.. take care and keep in touch.. Del.
I do believe you added as much weight in fiberglass as you took out in steel. That being said, awesome craftsmanship. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Thanks Paul, looks like we have a couple of dry days this week... and a storm coming by the weekend! So it seems the changeable season is here!! Have a great week, stay safe!
Coming along nicely Del! I like your first lathe project. The one thing I've found really cool with the lathe & mill and somewhat overlooked was the ability to make your own shop made tools. Pretty much anything you can dream up is possible... and nice quality that will last forever. You may want to get a piece of canvas or denim (something that is breathable) to cover your lathe to protect the cast iron sliding surfaces from grinding dust and ect. when not in use. Happy Trails, Doug
Thanks so much Doug, that's really good advice, it came home to me firmly when I started sanding some bodywork for the next video, and I realised a layer of dust had built up on it ! So I covered it up with an old sheet for now, reckon I'll make a little cover so it's easy just to drop over, like a sewing machine cover and maybe one for the bandsaw.... on the list !!!
Nice one Del, That looks the part. Can see it all coming together nicely. Look forward to seeing what you do with the light now. Nice machine outside!! Awrabest to you both bro. L&H. Al. 😉💙🤘
Number plate lights are not required for an mot but are a legal requirement if riding at night - the button leds are ok but vibrations kill them , my chop kills them in about 3-4k miles - but that is a big vibratey beast !
Another great video Del and another step towards its MOT. Two years nearly on the Bench and the bike looks great Im pretty sure apart from the engine you must have gone through every part on the bike. Have you thought about your next project Del? Im thinking next for me is a solo rat chopper no electric start. Ride safe Del and say Hi to Penny for me :)
Hey buddy... thank for the cool feedback.. yeah, two years indeed.. but its been a labour of love and in no hurry to get rid of it.. once its MOT'd, ill still do little jobs on it from time to time to keep improving things... have a great weekend mate, keep safe.. Del.

I will certainly be using the full size plate for MOT as it won't pass any other way, depending on what it looks like once it's on the road, I'll probably leave it there for a quiet life ;-) ;-) ...yes, a big decision, but no need for it yet to be a big public one as such yet, I've traded down to release some funding for next years donor bike, and what's even better, is it gives us a great bike to escape at the weekends and enjoy some us time in the frantic video schedule, it's a great work horse and perfect for the job! I want to buy a meaningful donor bike for the next project, not just another cheapie, so this was the best financial route!
(P) Looks great! I like the end product. I would probably go for a small, 3 or 4-LED strip on the underside of the tail, above the plate...would be a quite easy fix! :)
Thanks buddy, am gonna be just using the bare panel as it is for now as a very talented friend of mine is gonna make me a tooled leather pad once it's all done... and the Explorer won't be a project cos I traded the Harley in to free up some funding for the new donor bike in the New Year!

@@jonboy-kb1jj Jon, its awesome mate, like a two wheeled Nissan Patrol.... around here where we live there is a huge network of ancient country lanes and cattle droves, these roads are not broken up or pot holed, just really bumpy and twisty, and hustling a 350kg Harley along them has a speed ceiling of about 40mph, any more and you'll soon end up in a terminal weave or a hedge.. the Exploder just 'eats it'.. stick it in "off road mode" and just nail it.. if you ever needed a getaway bike, then this is it. you can ride at crazy speeds along wet slimy bumpy roads, get to a horrible dip in the road right on a bend, and it just breezes round it like its not there.. all taken care of by the suspension tech.. i know its cheating, and all that old Luddite crap about "its not a real bike", blah blah blah.. but im too busy laughing ah how much of a twat i can be on it to bother about image... also, it looks so good covered in shit and country lane mud... Most of all, we have Salisbury plain just ten miles up the road.. so im gonna have so much fun this winter playing silly buggers out there.... Yes, its not a fast powerful bike.. but 138bhp is enough on loose ground and in the wet, and you can use ALL of it.. which is more than can be said for the race bike fraternity in their 200mph superbikes in telly tubby leathers tip toeing to a bike meet to show off aye..!!! Bring on the winter baby... time to play.. muah ha ha.!
I got told bye a mot station that you don't need them because I broke my one I told him I am going to get another one he said it is all cool it will pass you don't need one
Yes indeed, there is a slight difference in requirement between MOT and construction & use regulations, so with this bike for it's maiden voyage, regardless of what I might 'get away with', I want it 100% legal, so we shall see! Thanks for your input buddy...
You don't need a number plate for your private mode of convaence , no tax, no insurance, no mot, no license, you only need them if you use them for work, ie your at work, fact.
Last name first name, just look in the law books and look up DRIVER and you will see you only need them for work and not your own bike, car OK, next year when I get my bike, I will not get it taxed, insured and mot, I don't even have a bike licence OK.
Great vid fella. If you fit lights, then they need to work. No legal requirement. Don't think that tail tidy will fall off. You've enough fibreglass on that bike to build a yacht 😉

That bracket looks like its been laser cut(but we know its not been) ,That's some awesome metal work Del keep it coming
Thanks Paul, that's very kind mate, it's great to take time and craft things by hand!
Did you buy a Tiger?😋
Yes i did..!
It is okay I love the bike and what you have done to it can not wait to see it on the road
Cheers mate, nowt like a strong fixing, makes you confident to forget out it and just enjoy the bike!
