I'm trying to make the kernel for pixel xl oreo 8.1.0. Everytime I run make marlin_defconfig. It gives me a error saying makefile error could not find find a specific path. I've tried several different kernel sources. It's the same results. The kernel folder from the pixel xl is different from the way yours is setup. If you want I can link the github source I'm using and you can see how the folders are setup

hey bro, just wanted to help out, try this command sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev you probably don't have libncurses5-dev yet which is required in your case cheers!
@@mohamedbhasith90 apparently you have to find out and download the HID patch for your device in a ".patch" format. Then type patch -p1 < patchname.patch in the terminal, to apply it.
