Great Video. I am a bit confused as to how the profit is £15k on scenario A rather than 10k which you actually get back. My understanding is that the Tax relief of 5k is not actually profit its money off your tax bill? Which is not really profit it just reduces the Tax bill? it doesnt save you 5k or add 5k to your pocket? Any clarity would be great
Hi K, thank you for your comment. And yes, its not profit in the traditional sense, but money you are saving because if you didn't do the EIS investment, then your tax bill wouldn't be reduced. Does that make sense? Depends how you look at it but I should have been clearer on this point. Thanks for the contribution :)
