    such a killer "pedal" - completely killed all my GAS for other guitar pedals... and the new stuff they're adding is gonna just make it better and better! Cool video!

    Tonex Pedal is the talk of town recently and acquired one two weeks ago and combined with FX8. I could say is it's a better alternative if your Kemper just died down which happened to me :) Except for the dangling patch cables :)

    Sounds gorgeous but glad I went for the helix instead, based on the simplicity and the amp models . I'd love to have a play on them both next to each other

    Hey there, If you are in a preset... Can you make each scene within that preset have different Fx? Or do all 8 scenes within the preset have to be the same fx?

    May be a stupid question but can this be connected directly to my Yamaha HS5 Studio Monitors and used as an Effects unit without connecting it to a preamp or an Amp? Would it give me distortion/ overdrive if used that way? What I mean is just the FX8 plugged into my Studio Monitors would work for recording ideas in Logic Pro X or does it necessarily have to be connected to a preamp/ amp?

    A lot of the songs I play need an acoustic and an electric guitar to play all the way through. Think "Over the Hills and Far Away" or "All The Young Dudes" type of thing. Till now, with my traditional old pedal board it's basically been impossible to get the right sound without switching guitars (which is only really good for recording) but not for playing live. What I need is an effects unit that can give me a really authentic acoustic tone so I could sit down with my Les Paul (for example) and just step on a switch to go back and forth between the two types of guitars. Will this unit do that? And how well will it do it? Thanks in advance.

    I have a question: (very nice video, by the way) - so the FX8 does not have modeling like the AX8 does, but the AX8 has all of the effects, if I am correct. What is the point of the FX8 then? They are so closely priced - why not only get the AX8? Are there advantages with the FX8 that the AX8 does not have?

    • @72sidler
      @72sidler 8 років тому +4

      +Jason Sherman the fx8 is made specifically to use with a tube amp whereas the ax8 is designed more for running direct to p.a. or monitor.

      +Jason Sherman They have entirely different control schemes, though the AX8 has a mode which allows it to be controlled like the FX8, and the FX8 is much simpler to program (the AX8 is very much like the AxeFX). You should download the manuals and skim through.

    • @jasonshermandds6034
      @jasonshermandds6034 8 років тому

      +Robstafarian - skimming through the manuals is a GREAT idea!! I am in the market for one of the two and want to make the purchase that I will be happiest with. Thank you so much for the EXCELLENT suggestion!!

      Also in FX8 u have option to run two reverbs blocks while in Ax8 just 1 reverb block, for me its very important

    Is there a way to use this unit with two amps and cabs simultaneously? If so, is there a way to get the cabs in phase with each other from the unit itself (I know there are some pedals that do this)? Also could you cut the signal to one of the amps via the scenes feature? Cheers!

    • @buckycore
      @buckycore 8 років тому +1

      +Nabil Belhaj Yeah, but think about what you get for that the price. One of these puppies is like a crap load of pedals way above the price, and digital floor pedals half the cost isn't nearly worth the money.

    Let me guess, you have to plug in the axe fx8 into a mesa boogie amp to get the tube tone correct????
    Thats what everyone else is doing, so. I need to know, what does it sound like directly into a P.A.. or better yet, a line input to a recording device such as a computer. Directly from the unit into the line in because there is no USB for audio recording.
    If you have to hook it up to a tube amp to get the tube tone, then I'm wasting my time here.

    • @HolgerH1967
      @HolgerH1967 7 років тому

      What you are looking for is the AX-8 or the Axe-Fx. Those ones you can play directly into a PA or SPDIF into the computer. This here is the FX-8, only meant to work in conjunction with an amp. But since your comment is from a month ago, I guess you have figured it out by now.

    Didn't sell me...excess talking contributed. I usually dig this dude's demos but kept in mind he demos on Fractal units. I didn't see a lot of functionality but a lot of talking about a lot of functionality. Want to snag my dollo then show me a unit that incorporates simulations of Fuzz pedals, and overdrive together with these admittedly cool effects that I can already conjure however pretty sweetly on my DAW.

      Mike Jams a floor model for that price needs to come with an expression pedal otherwise its daylight robbery

    • @shockt9610

      +Mike Jams smart way for them to take your money

    • @AeolianReflex
      @AeolianReflex 8 років тому

      +Avisek Ganguly It's all a matter of economics and choice. By including an expression pedal, theFX8 price increases by $100 or so, so are you really gaining anything? Since everyone has a different preference in how an exp pedal sweeps and feels the smart thing was to allow the user to choose what works best for them. I am using two EB Jrs with mine and couldn't be happier. This is a high end pro unit that is an amazing value at one and a half of its price point. The sound quality and flexibility are everything a guitarist could ask for. Since switching to the FX8, I have an all in one effects setup that has replaced $4500 in equipment I had invested in my studio rack and my live effects rig and sets up in less time.
