I was 14 when I heard them on an underground radio show called Radiopirata in my country Colombia, I went to Tower Records to see if that album was there. It was the last one, I took it, put it somewhere very far from where it was, 3 weeks later with enough money I checked almost praying if it was still there. Came back home almost running and enchanted of my new acquisition, second CD after The Fat Of The Land (you know what band), of course I still got it and is one of my precious in my collection.
Claro mi hermano, yo tbn escuche por primera vez The Prodigy con The Fat of the Land....tenía unos 16 años y me prestaron el CD. Me.volo la cabeza......fue algo increíble. Al igual q los Chemical !
I remember walking towards this fucked on eee. With all the little campfires and smoky air it almost felt like we were at some medieval battle scene, except with an electronic beat and a buzz in the air---THE DAYS!!!
There are no words to describe the sensations this set drives you through. The sound, the visuals, the powerful energy of the track, the mighty distortion! Wow, love this one.
If you can remember it you weren't there..haha.. only kidding bro..absolutely awesome, I was floating on a flashing cloud with baselines going right through my body
HAHA. I'm the same, I went to so many festivals at that time in my life, I don't know if I even went to this one. I suspect I did though, I definitely saw this set my The Chems somewhere, as I remember the visuals. I don't know if it was here though, I suspect it was.
If you were there , youll know what i mean .the energy was immense , an est 335,000 people . yes you read it right . lisvensed for 110 ,000 hence the fence when it returned . It nearly got banned forever after this .
There not as good now i dont think , about 2003 they were at thier peak live , unbelieveabley incredible . There still good but no where near as good as they were , ive seen them live loads of times between 1996 and 2019 .
@MrBoulefou I think it's an 'Octave Cat', that helicopter effect is made by changing the LFO speed which is modulating the filter frequency. Hope this helps :)
I guess all the Trippy hippy flute samples that i love were a bit too much for Tom and Ed to focus on adding into the track live =/ still though fabulous performance of my favourite song ever 👌

That was an epic night. One of my favourite Glastonburys.
Music in the 1990's may have matched this track, but nothing beat it. Nothing.
Well said
YEP ! its kicks all other music into the stratosphere and makes them think about themselves ! what a tune
I was there. The Chemical Brothers were definitely one of the high lights of the festival. The atmosphere was amazing.
Big crowd it was est 335,000 .
There are no words to describe the sensations this set drives you through.

Wow, love this one.

the best live version!!
This was the song i'd always play before hitting the town. Memories.
Thanks for sharing! This was the highlight of Glastonbury 2000 for me, my favourite band, favourite track and I was in the crowd, completely wasted ;)
Jealous, big time, I first saw them when they was called the Dust Brothers, fell in love then, absolutely awesome
hahahaha , me too !
Hey I know it's 9 years later but I just wanted to tell you how jealous I am.
I was in the UK in 2000 yet somehow missed Glastonbury?!
@@megglesy it’s a distant memory now, just like my comment from 9 years ago! Thanks for the reminder to come back and watch again 🙃
This is perfect.

If you can remember it you weren't there..haha.. only kidding bro..absolutely awesome, I was floating on a flashing cloud with baselines going right through my body

I think I was in the UK for Glastonbury 2000 but I can't really recall.
Anyway... I'm mad as he'll that I missed that performance.

I was at this gig. Possibly the loudest gig I've ever been to.
This and the golden path are the best they have produced ❤
Oui j'adore les 3 premiers albums et born in the echoes hate d'écouter leurs nouvel et prochain album ou e.p
THOSE LFO'S. T H O S E L F O ' S 🔥🔥 SIIIIIIIIICK
The version they played at Glastonbury is far better than the original track.
BADASS!!!!!!
1 word , amazing . the chems are like no one else .
The peak of The Chemical Brothers.
I am both sad I did not dicover the Chemical Brothers long ago and worried that would have ruined normal music for me. Just. Awesome.
Never to late to go see them brother or sister...I'm 43 and still raving
same here mate, the chems never fail to amaze me!
Outstanding !!1

Way back when phobia of clowns was virtually non-existent or simply done away with "smoke a joint, have a drink or a pill and STFU".

They’re a great….group
I saw them this year at Glasto. They were amazing but I was so disappointed they didn't play this :(

Edward I Longshanks in the Visuals...the hammer of the Scots...he who never saw William Wallace' execution live 'cause he was already dead......

brain meltdown
ISSO É ÉPICO demais, puta merda. 21 anos depois!
@SONICTRAMP Yep, thanks ;)
I wish I'd been old enough to be here. I'd imagine later festivals would be taken over by the, IMO, revolting atrocity known as dubstep.
Their magnum opus!
Glad to see it’s still legal
Tom makes the "ending thing" with a... keybord? Anyone knows which one it is?

I guess all the Trippy hippy flute samples that i love were a bit too much for Tom and Ed to focus on adding into the track live =/ still though fabulous performance of my favourite song ever 👌
5 years later, I am going to be 'that guy' and tell you that it is a clarinet, not a flute. Played by Jonathan Donahue, of Mercury Rev.

Great song. Fake performance.
