I think the plot where a guy goes to a gay bar for the sandwich would have been hilarious!! Only that it should have been done with Joey instead of Chandler because Joey is known to go to any lengths for food.
Ashcool right! It could have worked with Joey. He could have had the whole “I’m Joey... I’m disgusting” thing 😂 like he found heaven, a place where boobs and sandwiches exist! I dont like what they did to Joey.Honestly I think they didnt care about being realistic at all I think they let him single because of the Joey show they would made.
I would’ve honestly liked if Monica and Chandler were the only couple, because that’s the least predictable. I think it would’ve been fine if Rachel and Ross dated then split, but the reason that everyone wanted them to get together was because of the subtle romantic/flirty scenes. If they broke up and were *just* friends afterwards, no flirting, then I doubt that people would be so anxious to get them back together.
@@fuck_youtube_handles no..it wasn't just the flirting scenes..Ross and Rachel were the central romance of the show (main source of drama)..and you get aware of that from season 1 onwards. Ross repeatedly said he couldn't move to England because of Ben, so not sure why you're saying he was planning on moving to England and leaving Ben behind.
I love Friends just the way it ended up. I don’t like any of the different hookups or new people they were going to add. I loved this show just the way it played all the way to the end❤️❤️
You know what's weird? My mum called Monica and Chandler AAAAAAAAGEEEEES before it happened. She said "they're gonna end up together, they always end up alone, together talking and being silly". I was like, no way. And then it happened seasons later.

They should never have had Joey & Rachel date (thank goodness, they never slept together). It was jumping the shark a bit. Made for some funny scenes in the Bahamas, but I'm glad they stopped it quickly.
The only reason I prefer joey and Rachel’s relationship to Ross and Rachel’s is because joey never just saw here as a love interest, and they had an actual functioning friendship. Whereas Ross mainly saw Rachel as a love interest and their relationship was messy, even when they were just friends. I don’t like Rachel and joey, but I prefer them to Ross and Rachel
DeAd FrIeNd IMO, she was in it a perfect amount. Showing up every season, maybe more, just like Doug Judy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I feel like if she was there more, we’d find her less funny and more just annoying.
Friends without Chandler and Phoebe, I can't imagine at all. Also, Phoebe and Joey were the best friendship ever. It reminds me of Phoebe's dialogue, "Girlfriends and Boyfriends come and go, but this is forever". They were the best.
Wait. The whole thing about Ross trying to convince carol to move. And Susan’s line “we leave all of our decisions to the three year old”....... was that not in the tv cut?? I’ve only watched in DVD and it was definitely on the DVD version.....

Chandler Joey and Phoebe are the funnier ones so if you got rid of Chandler and Phoebe then you wouldn’t have anyone for Joey to properly banter with plus where would the sarcasm be?
I wish they hadn’t ended the plot of Rachel and Joey, that way Ross could’ve stayed with Emily and Chandler and Monica could’ve still been a thing. However, I kind of also wish that Phoebe and Joey had some sort of relationship going on. But it would’ve been funnier if it was introduced within the first few seasons, and then they could’ve made more inside jokes towards season nine.
I think that Phoebe and Joey were so suitable and would make a great couple but it would maybe be weird a bit because then every gorup scene would be like a triple date. But they had some sooo cute scenes
Joey and Phoebe sorta were hooking up. They had that get together occasionally where they talked about the gang. There's nothing to say they weren't secretly hooking up.
I have watched Friends 4 times and today I was watching the episode where Emily asks Ross to stay away from Rachel and there was the scene that he asks Carol and Susanto move in to England. I'm glad they took it off
What! Chandler is the most iconic among them. Without him you can't imagine the world. Even hearing this thought of the creators is making me wanting to kill myself.
Phoebe and Joey probably had a one night stand they had that one scene where they get to go to once a week and talk about the rest of them remember when Phoebe left to go to David and Joey was left eating by Himself ♥️😍
tbh im kinda glad nothing ever really happened between phoebe and joey. it is nice to have a pure platonic friendship between a man and a woman portrayed on tv. they are soulmates in a way, just not in a romantic way.
One thing I wished they added in friends was more relationships between the main cast, like one night stands or even just dating for a bit similar to Joey and Rachel.
The stars were all aligned perfectly and the show happened exactly the way it was supposed to happen. Everything about Friends is perfect just the way it is ❤ so I'm glad that none of these alternatives worked out 🙏
Okay. Most importantly (to me, bc Chandler was EASILY my fav character), the idea of Monica and Chandler hooking up came up in season 1 and was talked abt (but not followed thru until the first half of Ross’ wedding) in every subsequent season. They had a real friendship [meaning that they hung out and talked abt serious topics] in a way that clearly wasn’t the case w Joey. In fact, while it was difficult to go back in time (bc it made the pilot ep look silly, for ex.) Chandler and Monica had been friends for years (even without having had the added backstory from college that came out later). If (bite my tongue ) Monica & Chandler had NOT ended up together [which would be a shame bc I loved what it added to the show] they were the Harry and Sally of Friends. And everybody knows Harry’s feelings re men and women being friends... Two, this one’s easy - Chandler being part time character on the show would be bad for many reasons, starting w MP being my fav character on the show. From the beginning. He was also: Ross’ roommate in college, friends (later BF & husband) to Monica, and he roomed w Joey, across the hall from the girls. Rachel tells Phoebe soon after Mondler becomes engaged that Phebes ’lifts right out of the group’. She took it back, but that one is more accurate. NOT that I wished to lose Phoebe - just that the connections between the gang make Chandler an obvious choice for full time character. And while, other than Ross’ wife & lover, the gang didn’t appear to know or have any gay friends, I wouldn’t have had an issue w Chandler being gay if it were, in fact, true originally. But after the characters have all been shown to hetero (not even bi) I obviously don’t want Chandler gay seasons later, bc I want him w Monica. And they worked well together - the two actors - prior to that occurring (they had plot lines together) so I felt that way prior to it’s actually happening. Rachel and Gunther? Just no. It had that Niles (Frasier) w Maris feel; or Norm w his never seen wife. Obviously Gunther was THERE, but much of his comic appeal came from his over appreciative love of Rachel & that would have killed it. Considering that the show basically threw Ross under a bus when he ended up 3 times divorced- starting w a wife who comes out while mentioning she’s pregnant at that moment. Having him slip up w a teenage “just hanging out, not a major relationship” w Elizabeth would have been awful. I was never a big fan of Rachel getting pregnant during the show [and deciding to raise the kid on her own? thru an accidental pregnancy? When she/s barely 30 & doesn’t have a special guy in her life?] Abortion is a right (certainly more of one at that time) & under the circumstances., it would have made sense for her to NOT have the baby - so why even have the storyline? The plot line became better as it went along; I just didn’t think it was the normal behavior of a non-religious, young woman working in Manhattan in the late ’90s. She never even mentioned wanting kids. What the show SHOULD have done (IMO) was tell the audience Monica was pregnant right near the end of the Srs. That frequently happens w infertile couples - the pressure is gone; they’ve decided to adopt, & the woman ends up pregnant. That, I guess, would be ‘accidental’ only in That they didn’t think they COULD have a child,- they were married, they had money set aside, they both worked - that was a couple that WANTED kids and CC (bc she was so skinny thruout the show) was clearly pregnant. There was no reason to hide that. I wouldn’t have cared if Phoebe and Joey were friends w benefits; however, I was a HUGE Hank Azaria fan. I liked their relationship MORE than that w Paul Rudd (and yes, he’s adorbs and I could watch Clueless a million times) but I would have preferred it if her character had wanted to end up w David, instead of Mike. (Minority opinion - no one needs to tell me that. I LOVED scientist guy & I never got over how great they were together.) So even if Joey & Phoebe had a f w’ b rel at some point, it would have had to stop (obviously) & once they set Joey up w Phoebe’s sister, they sort of lost the chance to explore that (again, JMO.) But nothing could beat the perfection that was Monica and Chandler. To me. I loved them as a couple, w problems, issues, etc., eventually ending up married. I already loved Friends, but adding them as a couple brought my interest to a whole new level!!
I enjoyed your analysis :) Regarding Phoebe’s relationships, I also would have preferred if she’d ended up with David instead of Mike. Is that opinion really in the minority? I liked Mike well enough, but thought he was a little bland.
purplemist7 It truly does appear to be the minority opinion & of course keep in mind that Friends wanted Phoebe to end up w Mike, so they made HA look worse during the cruise where everything was decided, but EVEN THEN I preferred David. I thought he was the more 3-dimensional character (which must be due to HAs acting, since he was only on the show a bunch of episodes.) As I’ve said, I loved the way he and Phoebe met & how things proceeded on from there. And I loved his continued pursuit. Ppl either forget (or find it charming?) that when Mike came to fetch Phoebe and say marriage was on the table, he was DATING another girl, & he let Phoebe break things off on that girls birthday. That was how he let things develop prior to running off to Bermuda. David will forever be (to me) the guy she could have had...

Friends will be Fri without Phoebe and Chandler.
I love the way how all the friends characters are all so close, so I’m glad they didn’t leave out Chandler and Phoebe
Can't imagine the show without Phoebe and Chandler!!
Joey and Phoebe were always like brother and sister, so thank goodness it stayed that way.
Noo Rachel and Joey is more like siblings. Phoebe and Joey kissed and filtered, that’s not siblings.
I think that Phoebe and Joey were so suitable and would make a great couple but it would maybe be weird a bit because then every gorup scene would be like a triple date. But they had some sooo cute scenes
The only plot line that I think should’ve been added would’ve been Ross swing Ben again!! Or Emily coming back MAYBEEEEE but she couldn’t x
chandler and phoebe should never leave friends and pheobe and joey shouldve got together
Joey and Phoebe sorta were hooking up. They had that get together occasionally where they talked about the gang. There's nothing to say they weren't secretly hooking up.
Wow i am so glad that none of the things happened. I mean it's so perfect
Phoebe and Joey casually booking up would have made so much sense and it would have been a great ending!
Phoebe is one of my favorites and chandler was a important characters so they needed all six of them!!!!
Joey & Phoebe’s casual relationship wud hv been fun !
Phoebe and Joey probably had a one night stand they had that one scene where they get to go to once a week and talk about the rest of them remember when Phoebe left to go to David and Joey was left eating by Himself ♥️😍
The way it turned out was perfect!
Rachel and Joey in relationship should not havr happen...
Period
tbh im kinda glad nothing ever really happened between phoebe and joey. it is nice to have a pure platonic friendship between a man and a woman portrayed on tv. they are soulmates in a way, just not in a romantic way.
Pheobe and joey should have ended up together
Ross tried to persuade Carole was in the DVD I bought.
Amanda L I’m guessing it wasn’t on tv? I have only seen DVD and that confused me lol
I need that Joey and Phoebe romantic plot line 😩
One thing I wished they added in friends was more relationships between the main cast, like one night stands or even just dating for a bit similar to Joey and Rachel.
Can't imagine friends without Phoebe... ever period.
Phoebe and chandler are my two faves! I’m so glad they made it in!
He screen where Susan says we leave all the big desions to the three year old was not deleted
Yes! It was at least on the DVD version! That part confused me
The stars were all aligned perfectly and the show happened exactly the way it was supposed to happen. Everything about Friends is perfect just the way it is ❤ so I'm glad that none of these alternatives worked out 🙏
I loved Richard and Monica together. I was sad to see him go.
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe: Did you know that Pat the Cop was almost not in the show?
Imagine a world without phoebe and her songs and her personality
I LOVED scientist guy & I never got over how great they were together.) So even if Joey & Phoebe had a f w’ b rel at some point, it would have had to stop (obviously) & once they set Joey up w Phoebe’s sister, they sort of lost the chance to explore that (again, JMO.)
But nothing could beat the perfection that was Monica and Chandler.
Omg I want Joey and phoebe to be together
Joey and Phoebe sleeping together the entire time... AWESOME IDEA!!! They were crazy to turn that idea down!
I like Joey and Phoebe the way they are
