I'm so used to red-winged blackbirds that I just assumed that yellow-headed blackbirds would probably sound similar. WHOA, was I wrong! That crazy metallic moo/wail!

These lovely beauties have recently returned to the Colorado Front Range, singing their tormented "songs". This makes me happy, even if the Red-wings aren't so tickled about their encroaching rivals. Thank you for the footage.

I seen a Yellow Headed Blackbird in a winter flock at my home in southern Ontario, Canada! I had researched if there was any logical explanation for this erratic behaviour. There wasn’t, but I guess nature works in strange ways.
