As an Icelander living in a sailboat in Norway i love seeing a Norwegian sailing in Iceland. Hope you get better my friend!
I've never become so invested in someone else's travels. Rooting for you to reach Greenland!
This is my favorite sailing channel I have a 35-ft sailboat and this guy shows me I have nothing to be worried about. I sail in the Southern Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez Baja Mexico region nothing like what he has.
That lighthouse was beautiful! Imagine CLIMBING to reach it...Incredible! I could live there...for a while at least!
Yes. That was stunning.
Wow, this brought back a lot of memories Erik. When I left Vestmannaeyjar for Reykjavik I had almost exactly the same weather you had --- large rolling seas and 25 kts of wind. I was as delighted as you were to finally arrive on mainland Iceland. 😊 Here’s hoping the medical challenge was overcome!
My heart aches for your suffering. I’ve had my own digestive issues now for 13 years. I’ve found that low carb, which means also low fiber, helps me. Think of it this way. Fiber is like sandpaper rubbing on a sunburn. Ouch! Also I make my own high count yogurt with organic half and half. There are certain microorganisms which are helpful. Your perseverance in spite of your physical difficulties is inspiring.
Patrick when are you going back out for more adventures
@@SheriffofUA-cam My experience too 👍🏻
Once you got this adventure complete, a trip to Canada sounds like a great idea! After all, Vikings where coming here 1000 + years ago. It would be epic!
This is one of the best sailing channels out there! Erik is such a cool dude.
I wish you a speedy recovery, little pain and stable conditions. Your sailing: incredible. Leaves me breathless. Your videos: professional, with great, great attention to detail. Your boat: pure, down to the smallest corner. Sometimes I cross my fingers that you survive, even though I know you cut the movie later. Even episodes with little wind I love to watch several times. Inspiring.
Still amazes me to see this Contessa 35 going strong decades after she left Jeremy Rogers' [d. 12.10.2022 aged 85] Lymington yard. Kit Rogers continues in his father's footsteps.
You are one tough cookie. I thought I was a good sailor until I watched your channel. I wish you a speedy recovery and fair winds.
There's no feeling quite as frustrating as when your own body tries to stop you doing something you've dreamed of! Usually means you need to slow down for a bit and build up your strength. Take care, loved the video as always. Onward and upward!
I will probably watch this video at least 10 times during my weekend. It's my great escape from the crazy world we are living in.
Eric. I love your passion, your sense of adventure, and the love you have for your subscribers, your friends, in sharing all of this with us, making us a part of your amazing journey. I’m sending positive energies for your quick health recovery and look forward to your next adventures!
You reached Iceland Erik. Congratulations and take care of your health. 👍👍
your videos make my day better, thank you!
Erik, not promoting just informing you. A close friend I have known for 39 years developed Crohn’s disease and tried a lot of different medications since he was around 15 years old, most of it upset his stomach and didn’t help. He got to the point of where he looked anorexic and extremely weak, physically his body looked like he was around 12-14 years old. When medical marijuana became legal where I live he was prescribed that by his doctors and they have been able to ween him off of all his medication. During the last two years he has gained around 35 to 40 pounds and looks and feels so much better.
I'll support this Eric . Similar situation with a friend of mine , he's had a bag and a reversal and really suffers with it still but cannabis really helps him . His partner also has a similar illness and she also gets relief from the pain taking cannabis. It is a natural antispasmodic and anti inflammatory. Manuka honey is fantastic too . All the best , Mike .
FANTASTISK rejse, Erik - tak for super flot og spændende film 💪 Forsat god rejse ⛵️
Hello, love the vid again! But am I the only one who’s got some problems whit the quality…?😢 I see some double and unfocused images
Courageous man you are Eric.
That’s interesting. My sister has had Crohn’s since age 13 she’s 51 now but she went Dow the exact same path you described. She ended up having a colostomy bag fitted though after going down to 6 and a half stone! It made her better and she put weight on but it’s a price to pay, mind you there was no choice at the time.
EriK, I'm your fan!
I'm Brazilian, we don't have this sea like yours.
But for your adventures, one day I'll go to Iceland,
discover these beautiful landscapes in your country.
I hope you get better soon from your discomfort.
your passion for the sea is contagious
God bless you, NBJS!
As always, a nice episode with fantastic views, thanks Erik. Get well and strong soon !!!!👍💪💪
When the going gets tough... well, the tough just keep going!
Take care, health is paramount!
Thanks for sharing your good times, and your less good ones, and
Three cheers to you for what you are achieving !😎
Erick. Another great episode. So funny to see our trip this Summer in reverse. We too loved Westmanneyjaer and spent almost two weeks there. Met some real locals and saw our first puffins. Sorry to find out you are still having health issues but hopefully this winter you can put those behind you. Till we meet again. Victor and Judy
Erik,
You are amazing person and defiantly real sailor.
It's not easy to sail in the north waters, I am myself originally from Riga, Latvia and was sailing on wooden small boats in Baltic, now living in California USA and sailing here. Keep your health in good shape and continue sail, good luck
The best camera work and imagery as always. All the best.
Amazing lighthouse.
I absolutely love your channel!
I have a friend that battled chronic crones for years. She had her large intestine removed, took a while to adjust but she is so much happier and healthier.
Nice to see Dar Szczecina in Reykjavik :-) on your film
Well done for overcoming the odds (health issues) and reaching Iceland. Now take care of yourself and rest up a bit. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, it is fascinating, beautiful and the scenery just awe inspiring.
So happy for you finally making way with your dreams!!! I appreciate you sharing this journey with us!! I love watching your videos from here at Cape Cod 😁 Thank you and TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF PLEASE🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations, Mr. Erik, for fulfilling your sailing dream (and taking us along to experience it vicariously). Thank you.
It's wonderful that you are out of the hospital. I will continue to hope for your full recovery.
Amazing adventure. Wishing you the best with your health.
My co.32 teakwood keel step rotted too, after 50 years. I rebuilt it with plastic breadboard slices and epoxy resin , so itcan still flex.
Excellent sailing sir.
Dar Szczecina next to you, from my city.Take care bro!!
So beautiful you are so blessed in being able to do what you do and to show us as well.
Fabolus! I have been to Reykjavik twice but always arrived in a plane. A fantastic city in the middle of nowhere. Take care, Erik 😀
We're all for you, Erik. Let's Go!
I just got my 12 year old son started in sailing and you are a big reason why. thank you my friend. keep well.
On Tuesday I visited Tessie as my crew and I love your NSJB. Thanks for your trips! Do you have a link to your mast cam and under deck monitor equipment? I guess sailing is the best to do for your intestine - from a doctors view ;) Get and stay healthy!
Erik you are a true inspiration ! We really hope it turns out well this time.If someone diservs it its you! .Vi håller tummarna !
13:43 I hope you do end up in Canada, specifically in Newfoundland so you can visit L' Anse aux Meadows where your ancestors lived more than 1100 years ago. Greetings from N 47° 27' 47" W 52° 42' 23.32"
Be healthy, it has to become the priority!!
Erik you are a great captain, but take care of yourself. Your health is the most important thing you have a Lotta fans and we all love your videos. Please take care of yourself. This is nothing to fool around with you are the most important and everything else comes second
Erik thanks for the stunning views from your drone, those are places a lot of us can only dream about seeing. I love to ride along with you, take care my friend.
Get better, Erik! Each time I see a notification from your channel I prepare for the best. Cheers from Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
Wow, after all this you need to head to the Bahamas and relax a bit with a Boat Drink and some Sushi.
Great adventure. Fabulous shots. Thanks for sharing.
Your videos are fantastic my brother. I hope you are healing quickly, I'm sorry for your sickness. Take care mate.
Thanks so much for sharing your voyage with us! Looks incredible!
You are an amazing person and very inspirational Erik. I do not know how you do it.
Really enjoy your videos Eric. Hang in there and try eliminating bread and grains from your diet. It sure helped someone I know with similar health issues. NBJS!
Erik, you are one tough hombre! My cousin has had Crones disease since he was a pilot in the Air Force in the late 1970's (triggered by survival training.) He has been on medication most of his life, and although he has attacks as you do (less and less over time as he's learned to control it through diet, exercise, and meds,) he is super active - including sailing (mostly racing) and flying helicopters. He's now 65, so Crones is totally controllable. Gambatte from Japan!
Bravo Erik, you are an inspiration to budding and practicing sailors, thanks from New Zealand.
Congratulations Erik, who is back to health soon and the videos and trips are excellent. The t-shirts are very good, I helped with your dream by buying two that I already received, thank you very much!!! Good Winds!!!!
never thought that those cold places could be so majestically beautiful
@1ErikAanderaa Hi Erik. . I have installed " Instagram " on the phone and now I do not know what else to do to contact you,as you might guess ,I am a nullity with technology.Merry Christmas.
I had ulcerative colitis Erik. Somehow it resolved. 1 thing, I quit work. 2nd thing, high protein, low carb bread. I don't know which did the job.
Harken - isn't it about time you put some nice self tailing winches in a parcel for Erik.
Brilliant video Erik!
Wow Erik! Another part of the journey under your belt! Hopefully you will make it this time! Stay safe and take care of yourself!
From the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦
Hats off… sailing after a surgery and possible complications… you definitely are a tough man. Take care of you !
Congratulations on reaching Iceland 🇮🇸. Boat is looking great but you're not looking that good but still getting the job done. All the best with your health. 🐟
Best sailing channel !!
Thank G-d you're from a country that provides Healthcare! I admire your grit,NBJS !
Feels like deja vu... Your video documentaries are the very best!. But I wish I could be there with you on your voyages.. As a companion and cook delicious meals for you.. and take care of you when you're not feeling well.... Hoping your digestive problems are getting better..💖🥂
That lighthouse is beautiful - I can imagine climbing that rock just to get to work, and throwing down a rope to winch up supplies for a month or two. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for being so open about your struggles with gut / bowel health(you are not alone) not many people willing to share that sort of thing and you do all this while sailing. Good on ya mate!
Thank you for sharing your amazing adventures.
I hope your health improves and that you feel better soon.
Loving this series of videos. Sadly I get seasick on flat calm seas, but that doesn’t stop me thoroughly enjoying your videos.
Keep battling on!
Thanks for a great video Erik - I really enjoy following your journey - and you have an awesome boat. I am sorry that your health is plaguing you - that is not great - get well soon!! Looking forward to your next video 👍🙂🙏
At 18:04 you can see ms Dar Szczecina, a yacht from my hometown! All the best my friend and get well!
These are some of the best vids on you tube... best wishes on your crownes... we know how painful it can be... much love from Dave, Vicki and Comet (fat little Chihuahua) Arizona, USA
Well done Eric. Stunning stuff. I thought your bowel disease was Crohn's but the better news with this change of diagnosis, is the range of treatments available once you get your bottom clear of infection. It is essential you stop smoking. I love your adventures an wish you well.
Tough sail with the worry of health on top. So good luck to you with your health and I look forward to more excellent sailing vids.
My thoughts are with you on the health matters and things settle down. Also, so pleased you are there to pronounce the place names. 😉
what a great man! Salute to your stout-heartedness.
Health...yours. Take care brother, and may many sailing adventures still be on your horizon...
Hi Erik,
I am sure you are checking with the doctors but in my opinion it would help if you could consume only low fodmap foods with no carbs and sugar. Also two proper meals a day and no snacking if possible. Intermident fasting can help your gut heal itself. Alcohol-wise only distilled stuff or maybe wine.
Thank you for inspiring us with your amazing journeys! Following for more than a year now!
Wishing the best
Erik, I love your videos - so nice to see some proper sailing. I hope you feel better soon.
Iron man !
As a sufferer from similar problems, I have some idea of what it takes just to do the normal things in life, let alone what you have taken on and have achieved. So very well done !
Thank you for another great sailing video Erik. Hope you feel better soon✌
You do a super job making the videos, we really enjoy watching each one. Hope and pray your feel better!
18:03 I see beautiful Dar Szczecina from Poland 🙂 Best wishes from Poland and good luck!
Enjoyed the episode. Stay well.
I really enjoy your character. Full Stop! I wish you the best healing up from the unfortunate colitis. Hello from Canada....jonathan
Thanks! Not only me, probably every sea loving people's role figure!
Never bought merchandise before, but felt compelled to do it for you!
Good video. Nothing heals the body more than a good rest.
Emeğine sağlık teşekkür ederiz.
En kısa zamanda sağlığına kavuşmanı dilerim.
Take care Erik…your welcome in Canada 🇨🇦 anytime. You are strong willed…I envy your inner spirit.
Andrew

Erik, I am desperately waiting for any raw footages from your voyages (the same like: encountering storm force 10 etc.). Or any type of Slow TV types of uploads. I'd be thrilled to watch raw footage of you passing the North Sea! And I hope one day to see you in Haugesund once I visit again :)
Great Job take care of yourself
you are a true viking!
That pinnacle top lighthouse I must see someday! SkipRay.
Take care of your health. The third time is the charm. I look forward to your video arriving in Greenland.
Well done Erik 👍🍾 take care of yourself ! I’m looking f forward your next adventure towards Greenland. Fair winds, gr Jean
So great to see you again outside the bilibili!! Be happy, and be well !!!
Eric! I'm your fan for a long time. I'm (maybe not only me) waiting for you to tell us you're sailing around the world. In fact, you have everything that is most important to achieve this goal: a well-equipped yacht, and the ability to sail in difficult weather conditions ... The rest is time and money ... Watching your love for sailing and the ability to show it to the sailing community as well as your commitment and determination to achieve the goal, I think you should have no problem finding sponsors...
You do it!
What an amazing adventure! Sorry about your frying pan! I hope you are feeling better and managing your health challenges better.
Thx again for this beautiful presentation. I hope one day to do the same. Get well because we all want more of your saga.
Thanks for the film, I appreciate all the effort that you put into filming your footage.
Thank you for this trip in such beautiful landscape. Take care of yourself
Thank you for the continued excellent content. I appreciate that you release your videos during the winter months when I'm snowed in and my boat moored until March
I'm truly sorry to hear you're still fighting some health issues, I send my blessings and may you're healing be swift and lasting. )0(
Look after your health Erik. Love your videos.
