Wow that’s why I subscribed when I first discovered you. Always well done stylistic and informative 👌🏾 I never new till now that you could update from the app.👍🏾👍🏾
the app didn't say anything but, among the stuff you had to check and accept to continue there are the instructions where it clearly says, among other things, to set the camera on P. If Canon says that, I'm sure there's a very good reason. Maybe nothing happens...at least apparently, if we don't set it on P... but I wouldn't risk it and I cannot recommend not to do it.
Hi,I have not upgraded the firmware since I bought my R6. Thus, it has firmware version 1.2.0. The current firmware update is 1.8.1. Want to know if I could upgrade from firmware 1.2.0 directly to 1.8.1 without going through the intermediate upgrades. I could not find an answer to this question in the documentation that comes on the download website. Any answers? Thanks a lot.
Even though I think it would be incredible if also this update had something wrong...I totally understand you. Of course if I notice anything weird about anything with the camera I will hurry to say it in a video...but so far...so good. Thank you for watching!
I’m done with mine. Throw in the box and put it on the Internet for someone else to buy. I’ve had it for two years but I’m sick of it overheating when I do interviews and that 30 minute record limit. Yes you can restart the recording just before, but it’s embarrassing having to ask them to stop and then heading record the countdown timer will give you 10 to 15 minutes only because it’s already overheated then when you won’t be roll after or if you’re doing another interview you basically can’t use 4K because it won’t allow you to. It’s such a shit camera but I’ve got too much Canon glass I really want to get out of Canon they are to limiting
I mean.. the R6 is mostly a photography camera with high quality filming aspects to it, so it'll have limitations on purpose. I do travel documentaries with mine in 4K c.log3 and mines never overheated.. (300gb of footage every day) Why don't you get a C70 or a R5C if you're doing so much film work? Sounds like it'd be better for your needs? That's what I'd do personally.
@@Haggettco because I’m stingy I actually use a C100 Mark ii along side with the R6. I used to own the EOS R and thought I upgraded but the R6 I can deal with the 30 minute timer. It’s the overheating I can’t stand when I’m filming. The timer runs out and I hit record and it tells me I’ve only got 10 minutes left. It’s bullshit. I got rid of it and I have been looking at the C70 but I’m not a really successful film guy can’t really justify it. I only do it part time freelance and no one ever says at least where I live. Oh, you’re using an old as shit camera. In fact, the R6 is better quality, but as soon as they see the C100 they think bigger is better. I only work for myself and do small projects that the big companies don’t want to charge too much. I’m pretty much just a fill in like I did five interviews over the last two weeks because the clients were originally going to use an iPhone and my rates were pretty reasonable so I got the job. Otherwise they would’ve filmed themselves using an iPhone with no lighting or anything, if they want a big production they can spend the 10 grand with the proper company. They will have all the bigger cameras, equipment and probably a team.
The way Canon limits their products is so obvious… giant heavy prime RF lenses that will inevitably be replaced with smaller, lighter quality glass. Bodies like the R6 with known hot shoe issues with repair costs placed on the consumer. Over heating issues. The list goes on.

😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed it, Greg! Thanks for watching,.
That intro was genuinely hilarious 😂
Your best intro ever!
Hi there, do we need to take of the lens off while updating?
Yes…nothing should be connected to the camera during the entire procedure.
Camera connect updated my firmware via Bluetooth from my iPhone!
I don’t own a computer 😢

Thank you so much!!
I used the Canon connect app and it worked and didn’t put the dial on P and had a lens on the camera. The app didn’t say anything about precautions

Thanks Dan. Crazy how Canon can release a Firmware update that has issues!? Take care Phil
You are a miracle
Thanks a lot Dan
thank you Dan and Moshe for letting me comment here
Hi! Dan, is this new update any good?
Maybe it's just my impression but I think the autofocus got a little better.. .especially from far away using telelenses.
@@DanFrullani ok well that might be enough for me.
Thanksl i learned i could make my firmware updates via connect app. Time saving for me . Many thanks once again
Glad it helped
Does this update decrease camera heat when recording video?
No over heating in 1080p 120?
I just bought my cam. It is at 1.6; if I update will it update with everything???
You just need to install the latest firmware update, it includes everything.
@Dan Frullani thank you ^_^ just wanted to double check.
is this only for the r6 or for the mark ii as well?

Yes you can just do 1.8.1 upgrade and you will get all the others in it.
I will wait a few weeks before I will install ver. 1.81. Never do the the same mistake twice....

@@DanFrullani Done it, so far all fine. :)
Firmware to fix firmware! Are you sure this isn't Microsoft?
Hey, do you know if is okay for the Samyang RF 85 AF? Great intro btw!
Yes it will still work. Tried it today .

Good information, but better without the "funny stuff" which just wastes time.

is there any bug or error anymore in 1.8.1???
That's very unlikely since this update was made to fix the previous one and I'm sure Canon took good care of it before releasing it.
