Crossing Greenland with Snowkites

  • 3 men, 9 kites and 330 kg food and equipment…that was needed for a 27 day crossing over the Greenland ice cap: powered by only wind. Adventurers Eric Leegwater (NL), Bjorn Wils (DK) and Carl Alvey (NO) used snowkites to cover a 2620 km distance in complete absence of any civilization.

    m/fs ive been planning a silimar trip for 4 years. i aeem to he the only nutter of my clan ready and willing to pull that haul off. be safe guys u got a newfie fer the next haul if you need one

    Hello ... a practical question: how did you organised the pick up at the end of the trip ??

      We had a pre-arranged pickup by local hunters. This was already organized before the start of the expedition.
      Three days before our pickup we started daily making satelite phone call as to let them know we were getting closer to the meeting point.
