Man Bettiol looked strong! That attach he made was blistering I too was turned into a knucklehead shortly after as I was absolutely certain he was about to ride off in TT mode and take this one!
great video, I checked all my best and worst performances and found it backs up my feeling that carrying a bit of fatigue is good for me and where I seem to perform best. very helpful in demystifying the form
Hi Jesse, maybe you would find a solution: my performance goes down since September. The main reason - i try to perform workouts but my legs stop giving the needed power and HR raises. For example, with ftp of 225 i start 160 watt on 135 hr, but sometimes after 15min or half an hour i produce only 130watt at same 135-140HR and legs feel heavy? I am 96kg big guy with big legs and easily do 700w for 20sec without getting tired, despite the HR rises like a rocket to zone5(its the limiter). Lately I do base training, almost all in zone 2 but my performance decreases... sometimes (like today) i started at 125watt at 140 HR! And it kept for all 4 hours of long ride. Do you KNOW what can it be? How can i fix that degrade over and over? I had ftp of 260, but slipping down do 220 already. My CTL is 50 now, at form of +2 by Training Peaks by i feel dead and weak so much that i cant perform base trainings. Should I decrease my TSS to...200? I don't know what to do from here. P.S. i have a will and all the time in the world to train..if it'll work then 20 hours fine, but i only get performance dropping
Man if I'm over 150 TSS I'm napping.
hahaha

Very helpful video, some easy to follow instructions for understanding my own fitness! Keep em coming mate
It'd be great to hear how you know that greater TSB values do not have you performing better still.

👍
Hey Jesse - what metrics do you use to evaluate over training? TSB greater then -20?? Time in zones ratios??
None, I prefer to use subjective measures (how the athlete feels) combined with how their power output is going
Hey there so is TSS the same as T Score in Todays Plan?
For cycling it's the same, running and swimming it uses a slightly different calculation
More than 200 tss i am napping, after the nap I pull out my gun and make a protein shake.
