John Fogarty's vocals in this song are so amazing. His voice so raw and powerful. And the instruments, absurd. This was the B side to Looking Out My Back Door. What a great choice on a 45!! Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Debbie. CCR has been rocking me for 50 plus years. Super selection Debbie. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
This tune for me has always had a Van Morrison "Into The Mystic" feel to it, which is saying a lot. So soulfully and on point. That would be John Fogerty on vocals. CCR was a hits machine, banger after banger, many were short and to the point, nothing wasted, a few longer tunes were relegated back in my day to the FM stations, and they were also awesome.
CCR and my dad and I in 1973 came together. His jass blues past combined with my 13 yr old age for digging blues, jazz and fusion. Thank God my Papa Loved good music and I appreciate it all. He taught me to love Frank Zappa return to forever Chick corea Stanley Clarke Boz scaggs muddy waters, I could go on forever. God bless the parent who plays their children music good music all day long
Possibly my fave song from one of my fave bands. The first album that I ever bought was their Bayou Country. It's amazing how these California boys manage to sound like southern boys. I like to call it swamp rock, haha! CCR is a treasure trove of excellent music, and John Fogerty has some great solo work as well. Great reaction, great suggestion!
I thought for a minute that you would get so lost in this gem that you’d forget to pause. And that would be a well deserved pass for the great CCR. NICE reaction Harri!
The way he sings and how you feel it is what my colleague at EMI Music called “pain in your heart”. That’s a literal translation from Dutch, I guess a good English expression would be “cuts through your heart”.
Absolutely mind blowing. Next level Beatles type stuff. John Fogerty was an absolute force of nature during CCRs hayday. I don't even know what else to say.
CCR burst upon the scene as the Beatles were splitting selling millions of records and provided an incredible compilation of songs. Seen John Fogerty a few times and it is always a special. ☮️❤️
Harry, great reaction and you nailed the blues angle - too bad that's been lost on so much modern music. Do us a favor and react to Someday Never Comes by CCR......
I posted this as a memorial track to a good Internet fiend who died about 6 years ago. He was a big CCR fan, and this just seemed appropriate. RIP PRO.
Los reyes de lo clasico y no ay mas balads de puro rock en mi juventud y tengo 56 años haora alos 12 año los escuche y sin mas que decir grandes maestros for ever mach7❤❤❤
CCR has always been one of my favorites from the 60's-70's. They don't have a bad song! John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. All their songs are great. You've done quite a few already but lots more to react to such as "Proud Mary", "Lodi", "Green River", "Commotion", "Night Time Is The Right Time", "Down On The Corner", "Cotton Fields", "Midnight Special", "Travelin' Band", "Run Through The Jungle", "Suzie Q", "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" etc.
Love the stink face Harri. This is my favorite band and has been since I was 4. My family thought I was very weird, but my dad bought me Cosmos Factory anyway, and it's still one of my favorite records 53 years later. I just knew good music when I heard it. You do too. Nice to join the club.
There are many great songs by CCR and John Fogerty but this one was and is the greatest for me. I was speechless when I first heard it as a teenager. I've never bought a single so quickly again. 😂
Back when I was busting starting to go out to bars too much, the bar I frequented most had a really awful jukebox…it was just before streaming, but it had 4 songs I played every time I walked in. This song, Superstitious by Stevie Wonder, Itchycoo Park by the Small Faces and Curtis Lowe by Lynyrd Skynyrd
They were so good and too bad they broke up too soon. Can you imagine how many more great tunes that would have done had they just been more harmonious!
Such a beautiful song! A song of drifting, despair but always a bit of hope just up around the bend. Man, my friends and I would get so high listening to CCR, back in the day. We had never heard anything like them. I still haven't. 🕶️🖖🌍☮️
John Fogerty plays guitar, piano and alto sax on this track. Impressive.
And songwriter for most of their tunes!
He plays two separate sax tracks to get harmonies between them.
"Put a Candle in the Window" that line is so good. Man John Fogerty was a great songwriter.
Whoo whoo whoo whoo. I agree 💯. I've heard this song a countless number of times. The opening still raises the hair on the back of my neck.
Is he is a great songwriter he just needs to do it more 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
CCR didn't have a bad song in their catalog. Great reaction.
I disagree the Mardi Gras album, terrible
John Fogerty’s voice is the eighth wonder of the world! I just love these guys! That’s JF on the sax too! What a talent! Thanks Harri🌺✌️
Wow I didn't know that was fogerty on the sax😲
@@lindabergman3127 ...and piano.

Thanks Mary 😁
Great choice, great band. John Fogerty is a superstar. And that band can jam!✌️❤️🎶

John Fogerty always virtually reeked, bled authenticity. The conviction in his voice was always undeniable.
CCR does not have a bad song in their catalog! Great reaction.
the raw power in Fogerty's voice almost still shocks me when he releases it especially on this tune.
one of my all time fav songs . If Im alone, I cry. Every Time .☮❤🎶
My best friend and I would do pickup gigs with various local bands. Every time we'd return, his wife would have a candle burning in the window.
This might be my favorite CCR song.
this song always resonated deeply within me. Not bad for a San Francisco Bay group.
One of my favorite CCR songs

My favorite song by them. So many great songs.
One of CCR's true classics. Nice choice, Debbie, and another great review Harri.
I'm like you Harri on this song, close your eyes and feel it !

Can’t get much better than that
Pure Vibe. ALL POCKET!

What a bluesy sax ,have listened to this since it came out. Still gives me the chills!!!
yes your hearing it right... he has loads of talent...
This is a great country blues song! 🎶🎶🎷🎷💕💕👍
His voice is one of the most soulful i have ever heard. It's between him and Otis Redding. So heartfelt
6 amazing albums with the original band in 3 years. Show biz is tough but I can't think to imagine what might have been.
Absolutely mind blowing. Next level Beatles type stuff. John Fogerty was an absolute force of nature during CCRs hayday. I don't even know what else to say.

I love CCR and this song is fantastic Debbie. Great reaction Harri.
Yes it is🤩

I've listened to CCR since the beginning. Have never noticed that great sax solo!
I wish someone would check out pure prairie league. I haven't seen any reactions to this band.
Harry, great reaction and you nailed the blues angle - too bad that's been lost on so much modern music. Do us a favor and react to Someday Never Comes by CCR......
this is a great song. once upon a time, people did use candles in the window to light the way. nowadays considered a fire hazard.
Another one by Fogerty you should check out is "110 in the Shade". He sings with an acapella group the Fairfield Four.
Love them when i am very young, love them still. They are true and wonderful.Thank you for the fine reaction and stay well ☘️🙏

You have to see John Fogerty doing this live.
John’s voice is soul food to the ears

JOHN FOGARTY
One of the greats.
❤👊😁from Holland
Fogerty!
@@davidkirkham6497 thanks

The best song
Feeling Blue. It Came Out of the Sky.

Lodi is my all-time favorite. That, and Fortunate Son.
The alley cat in full glory on this one.

I always took this as a dying soldier in Vietnam, talking to his loved ones back home. Don't know why - your version makes more sense.
h a soulful blusey number You can really feel the weariness of life on the road.Probably my favourite CCR song.

have you done "Wrote A Song For Everyone" yet?
Thats a great mostly forgotten song.
Love the shirt! Peter Max style…
You had an eargasm.
Yeah! Always headphones. Love your shirts!

The phrase used to describe the sound in your ears is an "ear-gasm) 😮😮😮
This song reminds of Aretha at Muscle Shoals with the Swampers when she found her groove.
sweet hitchhiker, tombstone shadow...
👍🏻👍🏻 nothing more to say
They were so good and too bad they broke up too soon. Can you imagine how many more great tunes that would have done had they just been more harmonious!
Joel, I have always dreamed of a world in which CCR didn’t break up after a few short years. How wonderful that would have been 🌺✌️
John Fogerty once got sued for writing songs that sound like John Fogerty songs. That's why it's called the music business.
You mentioned diamonds in your ears. What about Diamonds On the Soles of Her shoes by Paul Simon? Please react to it. You won't be disappointed.
Sorry Harri, a lot of us out here don't have headphones for our computer...just sayin'

Even the Documentary on Netflix is family friendly, these guys were wholesome and somehow made it big without selling their souls!
