- In today's video we continue our chicken coop build series! This video we build our actual coop and get it all rough framed. It was a few grueling days but it is coming together and we couldn't be happier with our diy chicken coop.

We are Austin & Sarah.
The two of us grew up as city kids and after we got married realized we dreamed of living a simpler and more self-sufficient life in the country. We packed our bags and bought our little piece of heaven in the beginning of 2021. This channel exists to document our journey of learning how to live a more self-sufficient life.
We have a lot to learn and we hope that you will join us on this adventure!
Great job. I've been wanting to build a large coup and a huge run for the last 2yrs, but I just don't have the strength. I'm 63 and had a heart attack a few years ago. I do what I can around the farm and wifey helps me out a lot. Your build has inspired me, so, maybe I'll get started next week. Or maybe the week after.
Thank you that warms my heart to hear! This took us awhile to build so projects like this definitely don’t happen overnight and should be done at everyone’s own pace. I wish you the best with your build and hope you have a great summer!
Hey, I’m glad you found my channel! Your story is so cool and the property is looking great! Nice coop and run build. Good luck on your journey towards self sustainability
Appreciate and likewise, glad to have come across your channel too!
Great Job ❤️👍🏻
Thank you!
I'm a poor carpenter, although being a retired Union Ironworker I can build up a 400 city block building and a 1/4 mile bridge but I struggle with the small stuff, it's good to see young people just doing it and mistakes are the best education.
I appreciate it! We have learned so much from all of our projects but we are far from experts :) Thanks for the encouragement!
This is looks awesome! You've put so much work into this run and coup and can see how much you enjoy building things like this! Can't wait to see the finished product! Next will be a tiny house! 😉
Thank you!
What a beautiful property

What type of siding did you use?
We used T1-11, 1/2” thick. We got lucky and found some discounted!
Can’t afford a framing nailer but buys T111 siding. 😂
Lol right. We have a discount lumber place near us and got pretty lucky with the sheets. $25 a pop for each sheet!
@@CypressSparrowHomestead Yeah that’s a steal these days!
Just because I was curious what it’s up to, I looked up T111 on Home Depot, $65-$99 a sheet 😬 My gosh
Huskies!? I'll give you a pass because of the great content. Go Cougs!
Haha I have no affiliation with Washington, just like the shirt. Thanks!
Can I invite you to kenya next year in my farm project please
My name is Moses Kaale from kenya and Tanzania live in Canada expecting to be in kenya soon
Lovely and stunning ~ by far the nicest coop that I’ve seen so far 🤍🤍🤍🫶🫶🫶💕💕🫶
Wow thank you so much for the kind comment!
How thick is your T111 siding?
I believe it was 5/8”
