Da Vinci was far ahead of his time. Following the +/- 2 year gap regarding his where abouts in his mid-twenties, he returned and produced many of his iconic drawings, including the helicopter and the tank concept. Could it be he met with "elders" who gave him insights that were, and continue to be, mind-blowing. Just thinking out of the box...
This is shockingly poor form from National Geographic, a brand I grew up with I admired and that inspired me. Not only is the tone, well, deaf, the information is only "correct" or "accurate" if you take a very generous attitude about it. 1) The craft being towed behind a truck was not a copter as it was initially* identified, but an autogyro. *Autogyro was mentioned later in that section. 2) The AH-1 Cobra hitting the building was just sensationalist rubbish. It has nothing to do with "how helicopters fly." 3) The Robinson hitting the powerline also had zero to do with "how helicopters fly." The description of the series says it is about "... funniest fail clips." Only a greedy media company would consider aircraft accidents funny fail clips.
so basically to fly helicopter apply force upward decreasing the atmospheric pressure resulting in upward movement and while landing blades changes position to apply force downward resulting in increase in upward atmospheric pressure
What fascinates you about the science required for a helicopter to achieve flight?
Can I use Nat Geo footage for my videos?
The fact that you don't do your research before recording
@@GeoZoo-official. no, it's copyrighted 😂 and you don't buy license by asking in a youtube comment
@@crehenge2386 Thanks.
@@GeoZoo-official. lol, basically if you see someone upload it you can't use it.
*jokes aside, the carcopter flying is just badass*
😂🔥
My favorite program (Science of Stupid)
I agree, i love this documentary too!
Yeah, me too.
Education needs this type of teaching 🥺
Manish paul suits here the most!
True
Yes
Yeah bro 😞😞
True 💯
Absolutely
Interesting. Love these short and simple explanations 💖
We're so glad to hear that, Azliana! Thanks for your support.
*_The More You Know_*
Now i know how coppers fly.
The cyclic lift is 90 degrees off, the rear blades don’t lift and the the chopper moves forward.
Always so informative . Thank you national geographic 👏
You know when they say "I know enough to be dangerous".. this is a good example. lol
Incredible scientific stuff! Great videos.
When did NatGeo turn into CourtTV 😂
Title: how helicopter fly?
Video: shows random chopper crash most of the time in his backyard.
That rudder on the carcopter has no authority.
Great 👍
1:31 This is the principle of the Autogiro, not the helicopter!
exactly

What a interesting mechanism national geographic. Nice edit science is so amazing 😎

those blades are horrifying
Nah, I have learnt how to fly a helicopter from GTA game since years ago.
Finally great content!
I hate this format. National Geographic used to be more scientific, now it's just a sensationalist magazine..
owned by disney
I agree
@Ross- A -Roni ah yes the classic bury your head in the sand and the problem goes away, i didn't know they let ostriches comment on youtube.
@Ross- A -Roni lol you got burned now you're mad, nice comeback kid.
at 1:00, the mystery is, why was an incorrect representation of a rotor blade profile shown.?????
Nice video.
Thanks for watching! What's the most interesting thing you learned from this video, Alparslan?
@@NatGeo I learned how hard is to ride a helicopter :)

I clicked because the thumbnail reminds me of Marine One. Makes me think of an upcoming takeoff with a very special passenger.
NATGEO your the best channel cuz you give me lots of knowledge

Should have doubled up on the rudder for the car copter and put them at the edges of the car and not in the middle, where there’s a vacuum
hmm, what'd the woman screaming at the end hope to accomplish by screaming?
Pitch needed. Pitch needed. Not enough pitch m'lord.
The car-copter only failed because of the lack of back-rotor
Helicopters are like air motorcycles

I love Hindi version ❤️
Tell them to put a video on same topic , but in hindi language
Thanks for the information, it really confused me since I thought they worked like a turbine in some way, instead of producing energy, enought lift.
Always have heard sic-lic instead of psy-click. Probably a regional thing.

The music that starts at @00:43 took me back in 80s when I was a little kid.
At 2:05 You could see the camera struggling to capture how fast the blades are spinning, it looks like lag in a video game lol
Papi it’s you!!!
The arrows and the movement of the chopper during the cyclic pitch part are incorrect.
actually, not. i started to say the same thing. not used to thinking 'pitch', when talking about cyclic. cheers
well, maybe you are correct. but, that would be a Whole 'nother science story. d
Tail rotor is for preventing it from going into a spin
ummmm in a rotary wing aircraft, rotation from torque is not called spin.
RIP Kobe
Sure showed that building who's boss
Physicssssss!
The stupid starts at 1:29 !
I already knew this because i invented helicopters
the illustrations are wrong. when the cyclic pitch is lifted on the back the helicopter slides to the left.
Manish's version gave us the science with humour.. And nothing matches that !
That’s last minute video helicopter is red bull cobra 🚁 why do u blurt it 😂
Is it possible to let a helicopter fly on one point while being angled 45 degree looking down or is it impossible and it would just fly forward?
I am cyclic Hahahahha that was so good
LONG LIVE KOBE "BEAN" BRYANT
Yo! Wheres richard Hammond ?
i mean i was told that they flew cause the ground hated them that much so this is explanation is pretty close to that
This is the Greatest PLAAAAAA-!!!
Couldn’t save Kobe 🥲

Either fire or promote whoever wrote the line "I am cyclic."
