  • IF YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DANCE “HOLY MOLY,” THERE IS A VIDEO LESSON ON THIS LINK: • How to dance HOLY MOLY...
David Villellas is, without a doubt, the most internationally renowned Catalan Style choreographer. His choreos usually are not easy at all but spectaculars and showy. HOLY MOLY may be the best work done by Villellas so far. The base for it is the song “Footloose” by Blake Shelton, the soundtrack of the same title movie. That is a song recognized in all environments, Country or not. Different choreographies has been made for that song, but most of them are clearly below of what someone can expect for a song like “Footloose.” But David clearly goes beyond the choreography of the movie itself. To do that, he organizes the steps in a structure of four stanzas, A, B1, B2, C, plus a 16 counts tag. All in all, 228 counts to be learned and practiced. Fortunately, the steps of B1 and B2 are practically the same, with the exception of a variation at the end of B2, and that B2 is eight counts shorter than B1. Also, C is composed of two parts almost identical, one of 32 counts and another four counts shorter. This is absolutely not a choreography for everyone, much less. It is a very physical demanding choreography and of high impact, but when you manage to link the 228 counts with the rhythm of the Blake Shelton’s theme, the satisfaction is total, and you feel very grateful for the work that David did to perform this choreo.
