- Ahmedabad International Kite Festival - day to night transition. One of the most spectacular man made events I have seen in my life! A 2 days event that starts with traditional kites battles during daytime and ends up with an amazing display of millions of Chinese lanterns flying silently in the dark skies. Amazing! Filmed from one of the old city's roofs.

Thank you for this incredible footage, I am making a documentary on kite fighting in Ahmedabad (both the good and bad sides). I am wondering if I would be able to use a clip or two from your footage (will give you full credit of course) for the ending to show what the festival is really like. I did not get footage at night that came close to this since we were located away from the heavy concentration of lanterns like this but also that the government has put a tighter seal on the lanterns now. very beautiful basant in night ,specially colorful flying "qandeels" ,they are very beautiful.there is no difference between India and Pakistan, i remember the same basant in Lahore,even fire work at sky and dresses of people are same.(young girls dresses),i am very thanful to you upload this video graphy.i am zaheer aslam from Lahore Pakistan.

Which area of Ahmedabad it happens??
Because this is not Ahmedabad it is Vadodara I can tell you the area as well .. it happens in all old city area of Vadodara like niyaymandir, mandvi, nawabazar etc. You tell me which area of Ahmedabad it happens ? You copied the scene of Vadodara and given Ahmedabad. Btw Vadodara is in Gujarat so it's local language is Gujarati.
