(Cariss's Grocery is at the crossroads in Southviile a few miles from Shelbyville) Embarrassed to say I live in Etown but have never tried Laha's in Hodgenville. Gonna fix that this weekend!
If you go to Louisville again, hit Frankfort Avenue. Add a few swanky restaurants on there too. You literally won't have to leave " the Avenue " everything from delis, bars, fancy Italian, authentic Irish, Mexican, you name it.❤
Agreed! A shout-out to Adelitas, a family-owned, authentic, home-cooked Mexican restaurant (2359 Frankfort Ave.) and, also, to The Shop, a craft beer and bottle shop for that "Cheers" vibe (2708 Frankfort Ave.) Both are newish and welcome additions to "the Avenue" scene.
I am a big fan of Hola Havana. I live about 2 miles away. My favorite order there is their Varadero Asada Steak with fresh chimichurri. Although I substitute their delicious congris in place of their white rice and black bean soup
Make a trip to Smithfield Kentucky. Our Best Restaurant. People drive from far for it. I’m close with the owner, can get you in touch with him if you like
Try Otter Creek Tavern in Vine Grove, KY. Dive bar with fantastic food. Be sure to try their fish and a double cheeseburger. You can’t get your mouth around that burger for a bite. Awesome meat in that thing too. Their fish is A1. Wife and I eat there several times a month. Oh yeah….forgot to mention their great pizza. Tuesday is pizza night. 16” pizza with as many toppings you want…$12.
Need to try country time diner in Summer Shade Kentucky it's the only restaurant a town with the population of only 200 but their sidewinder fries are to die for
When I was younger me and my grandparents drove from Michigan to Florida and we stopped at the original kfc in Kentucky and you know what it was alright
