After the "Come on Baby" part (Mon A Q) comes another singer (not Mon A Q, according to her directly). I was a Club DJ in Sarasota & she performed twice (co-incidentally at 2 different clubs with me as DJ). Once in 1998-ish (Bumpers) then in 2000 (Therapy Night Club). "Take My Love" by Kromozone (1st pressing vocals were Mon A Q) was her hit about this time, locally - Tampa Bay area. I asked her to sign me this copy of the 12" (I still have it!) and she mentioned that the added vocals weren't her. She was aware this was a "white label" version (unofficial). She was such a sweet woman I'm sure she still is.
Although I've never been to an actual night club, I admire her talent alot. I believe there was another female artist who also sang that too. But I don't know who that was. 🤔
Such an anthem - still so soulful and hot 25 years later. I was getting into DJing when vinyl was being taken over by CDs and DVSs. I knew of the song, but heard this mix of it and learned it was an advance copy record companies sent out in the 90s. Picked up a few copies on Gemm (when it was still around). Now a days when anyone plays this it's NEVER the Upstairs Advance Copy - which DJs will know is different. It doesn't have the bumblingly weird vocal parts in the intro. Anyway, just came here to comment and mention that this record is rare as hell. Had two copies at one point, but gave one away to a friend (The DJ who played this version the first time I heard it - he was playing it on a CD that another DJ burned for him). It's a RARE record (goes for ~$120.00). Make sure you keep yours in great condition OP!
definitely my favorite version of this song that was released. the vocals are a little different than the Mon A Q version on matrix records. have that version posted as well as the kromozone project versions
