My mother passed away recently at the age of 96 but she remembered those Allied food drops but until her last days along with the Canadian troops who liberated her town in May of '45. Thanks for sharing.

Thankfully, both volunteered to take part in Manna. It made such a huge difference to the occupied in Holland as well as to the RAF personnel themselves. They needed to know they were doing good in the world. X
If you work on your intonation this would be much more watchable, it just sounds like you're just a robot reading a script at the moment and I couldn't make it past 2 minutes.
I suppose the drop at 2:55 and the Germans themselves were getting verry hungry as well ? They went after the supplies themselves ? I suppose it was inevitable that some of these supplies meant for the civivlians got into the German hands ..
He said it was a test but I don,t know why you need to test how to drop sacks out a plane.Maby it where warning pamflets from another period.Before the lancasters bombing the dike at Walcheren they also drop papers(pamflets)to warn for the coming water and tell the people go to higher grounds.
My Father was involved in operation Manna, he was deeply touched by the messages he saw and very proud to be a part of it.

I heard this from some Dutch people and it is amazing anyone survived, So glad help was delivered, thank you for telling this story!

Just what is that at 4:24 ? Doesn't look like food . Paper leaflets ? Tulips ?
