    We watched Long Way Round during my wife’s battle against bowl cancer. It was a really positive and motivating experience for her. We are fans. After her treatment we walked the Camino de Santiago then spent 6 weeks on a BMW R1200 GS across Europe. When we got home I bought one and ride nearly every day. We are doing another European bike trip in 2023 COVID permitting. We’ve only got good things to say about Charlie and Ewan. ✌️❤️🇦🇺 PS she’s still well in 2022 Thank you Jesus 🙏

    I've been watching the Long Way Up series.
    I thought the recharging of the bikes had to of been much more of a problem than they let on in the show.
    That said, Ewan and Charlie are as usual, very entertaining, super fun and provide us with hours of high class escapist viewing pleasure. I have LOVED all their adventure shows, and in 'Long Way Up' the scenery and vistas have been spectacular.

    I am with you - I was a long distance bicyclist and bicycle tourer and switched over to motorcycles due to the time limits of middle age. My biggest motivation was the Long Way films. I want to see those guys on the screen again - I miss my virtual riding buddies. I will watch the film no matter what, but I was always a little skeptical of the electric thing. Who cares though. I am having my own riding adventures anyway...

    I realize this video is "old," having been published in February, but even then I recall there was some discussion about how they managed charging. It's explained in the link below, which was published in September. As explained therein, they installed phase 2 charging stations, in advance, all along their route. These were used to charge the Rivians, and from those they could charge the bikes in about an hour, supplementing them with local, slow charging. The charging stations were essentially donated to the communities where they were installed. Yes, it has the feel of an advert, but it's really more of an exploration of electric vehicles, their limits, and a focus on the relationship between Charlie and Ewan. Of course it's a production, but still worth a look. For a real, solo adventure, follow Itchy Boots.

      Indeed there was a lot of talk all the way through about the level of support they would need to run this route in the time they had allotted. My issue or worry was that given the interview with Ewan that they might not be entirely forthcoming about the level of support needed for the trip. This would definitely make it feel more like an advert than an actual adventure. Luckily, they were VERY open about how they accomplished the mission which made me very happy to see.

    As a motorcyclist myself, the fact remains that they still had to ride the bikes. Electric or otherwise, the trip still had to be made from the southern tip of Argentina to LA. Yes, it's a show and I've always thought that this adventure in particular, would probably have some factors playing in that we, the viewer, didn't see. It's a show after all but in no way does anything they had to do (that we didn't see), make it less entertaining.

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  4 роки тому

      I totally agree with you. The part of the trip I was most looking forward to was the difficulty they would have with charging an untested tech through some difficult areas. I was worried they would try to whitewash those issues but it seems like they have been really frank about it, which is very encouraging. The adventure so far has been fun and really beautiful. The show has done a good job of highlighting the holes in the electric possibilities but as they say, it does seem to have a future as they fill those gaps.

    The outlet voltages outside of the US is about 230 volts, not 120 like the US. So the charge time would be about 25 miles per hour. Much faster than you stated for US outlets.

      @BeGoneForGood  3 роки тому

      That would be a major difference but I didn't realize it would work well with different types of charge. Obviously, the only info I had was directly from HD and they only had the American stats. I am glad to see the honesty of the series around their issues.

    I heard a rumour that they never even did the trip. Same for Long Way Round. It's mainly CGI as Ewan had filming commitments for a new Elvis film. The main reason for the support truck was for the extension cable - total fraudulent in my view. And Long Way Round - fancy filming and making an international best selling / award winning documentary with camera men, equipment and insurance etc. I heard they even had a truck to put the camera men in. Total fraud. I would have made an internationally best selling documentary and book myself - but without a camera or even a book. I just didn't. I heard that Ewan said he was going to ride the electric bike one handed and not charge it up at all - well, we'll see about that - he's just a show off anyway. I'm one of their biggest fans, but even I'm now starting to think that they kept putting petrol in the bikes in Long Way Round - I'm disgusted. They were the reason why I bought a BMW Rallye Suit - but now I feel robbed. I'm gutted but thank you for revealing all this. It's thanks to people like you that we finally get to the truth about the virus. Thoughts and Prayers. xx

      Mr. Biketruck, I am well aware of who you are and your proximity to both Ewan and Charley so I am a little mystified that you chose this opportunity to sarcastically blast a fan rather than setting the record straight with information about what is going on with this series. Knowing that the first series was put out three months after completion with the second coming out just two months after completion, we are now more than six months removed from completion of this trip with ZERO word about upcoming release.
      It is funny how quickly you jumped all over the real concerns people had about this series and how it was/is going to be handled. I will admit that these guys have had to deal with super high expectations for follow up series sequels because of how amped the fans are (something Ewan already knows well stepping into the Star Wars franchise) but the PR side of this excursion has been awful. With channels like Itchy Boots putting out daily content and keeping in touch with fans the whole way, these guys have much higher marks to hit this time around if they are looking to capture similar audiences to the previous runs.
      I am still hopeful for how this turns out and how the duo handles the new route and the new, relatively untested, tech because I am a HUGE fan. It was a great thrill to see your name show up on my little channel and I get why you would be protective of your friends. If I could break it down simply, the fans are just super excited to see what is going to happen with this third installment and the delays are causing some anxiety.
      Thank you very much for checking out the vid and leaving feedback. I look forward to being wrong about all these concerns I have for the forthcoming premiere.

    You mean he didn't mention EVERY LITTLE DETAIL in a super quick interview? WOW.. bowl me over with surprise..
    What he also didn't mention was how he cuts his toe nails, what his father said to his mother 2 days before his conception, if he had ever tried to cut down a tree with a herring and what hair products he uses. HE MUST BE A SCAM.

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  4 роки тому

      If the interview was about his pedicuring routine, his father’s poetry, or his lumberjack skills, I’d think those omissions might matter a bit. However, since this was about the trip they made and the electric bikes they rode, I’d expect some talk of the apparatus and support necessary for that endevour. As I recognized in the vid, this was a quick snapshot but it did lend credence to the idea that these guys were going to whitewash the electric bike issues in an effort to push an unreliable bike in more of a commercial than a documentary. That would have been really disappointing.
      Luckily, now we have the series coming out so we can see for ourselves how they dealt with exposing the drawbacks of electric riding through areas without the infrastructure for such a ride.
      All that being said, I am glad LWU does indeed focus momentarily of Ewan’s toenail regimen.

    Check out Arkady Fiedler who drove a 2016 30kWh Nissan Leaf from Cape Town to Poland. Have you ever driven an EV or e-bike? It teaches you not to drive wastefully. The expected ranges that are advertised can often be doubled, as many videos prove. And the upside of driving clever means the battery is not overheating when you stop to charge, so the charge rate is higher, and because your mileage per kWh is also higher you're getting more miles back in.
    We have 2013 Leafs which are probably one of the least efficient EV's out there. A friend gets 6.5km/kWh average, yet when I drive it, I can easily get over 9, which includes a few sprints at the traffic lights.
    I'm not saying they didn't tell the whole truth, I'm just saying Harley Davidson did good with their first electric bike, and no matter what the mainstream media says.
    This is what people are starting to want and those that have it, will sell it.
    Great Channel, thanks

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  3 роки тому

      Thank you so much for the feedback and the added knowledge of the EV community. I don't know what the actual mileage for the bikes was compared to the theoretical but I didn't get the impression that HD was underselling their capability. It seemed like they actually ran into the opposite problem pretty often because of the cold, or going to fast, or hitting rough terrain. I imagine there will be a market one day for vehicles like this but between the lacking current offerings and the scarcity of "recharge" options, I could see that tipping point still being a ways off.

    In 2010 the 2-seat all-electric SRZero built by Imperial College(London) EV "Racing Green" radicals far exceeded what Ewan et al have attempted ten years later: in 2010 they drove 16,000 miles from Alaska to the southernmost tip of Argentina down the Pan American Highway - and BBC World filmed the whole thing - it became one of the most popular, widely-viewed docu-series they ever broadcast.

    They could have gone the logical route and chose Teslas and Zeros which would have enabled them to complete the trip with no fuss. Instead they chose a prototype Rivian and a Prototype HD and had constant issues, often ran out of charge and had charging problems . let's not forget they required support vehicles with diesel generators to charge their bikes on occasions. It was nothing but a huge paid add for Rivian and HD. No logical person would have chosen those particular electric vehicles for that trip. Good adventure though!

    The hate on this video aged hard. Honestly the entire thing is kinda dumb. The entire series so far is [charge.mp4], and there are so many gas powered support vehicles they may as well be making a larger carbon footprint than before. If they were going to do the whole electric thing, they should have saved it for a trip that was not cold. The beginning is so cold, it just straight up kills the bikes. Not smart. I feel the idea would work better if they did a roadtrip across the United States or something as a special edition on electric. As it would be safer and more practical. And possibly even promote electric bikes. But the nightmare that is the first leg of the trip really convinces the exact opposite.

      I don't know if you meant the hate ON the video or the hate FOR the video. It was certainly not my intention to sound hateful in any way. I am a huge fan of this crew and my worry is that they would spoil a ton of goodwill from the previous series if they weren't very honest about their experience on the electric bikes to make HD look good. I am have been pleased to see they don't appear concerned with that aspect and have been exceedingly candid about their problems and issues with the new tech. It has been a great journey and I think instructive to see where the holes exist for electric infrastructure and the future of electric vehicles at large.

      As I do my best to put together an answer for every comment, I struggled a little with yours and how to react. I was going to go for humor or start a fight but both would seem a little inauthentic or dismissive so instead, I am going to aim for explanatory. Now I know you didn't ask and likely don't much care but I thought I owed it to you nonetheless so here goes.
      I understand that "scam" was probably too strongly worded for this series and honestly, it isn't really what I thought but rather what I had heard from many others from my other vids about this subject. I dearly loved the previous two Long Way iterations and didn't think there was likely going to be much change for this one. I was all in on the electric bike twist and liked the idea of seeing the boys deal with new and emerging complications. Perhaps I am naive to think what we saw from the first two was more than entertainment but was closer to documentary. I just hope they maintain that balance, whatever it was from the beginnings.
      When I first saw the interview with Ewan it seemed like he was being less than genuine with his answers about traveling through SA and CA with electric bikes. Now some of that might be based on my hope for concentrating on that part of the trip and I would be lying if I wasn't a little guarded based on all the feedback from others about this being an HD commercial. It probably also didn't help that this was a tiny interview clip on a show not dedicated to the ins and outs of motorcycle travel. Perhaps Ewan was just telling the fun stories and not the nitty gritty of the trip adversities. It was likely a rush judgement but hell, that is what entertainment is all about right? Now I get to be pleasantly surprised when all of it turns out to be nothing.
      I don't mind the crew and support but, like the did in the first two, I'd just like them to be candid about that process. They probably will be but this first tiny, incomplete interview made me question otherwise. I really just wanted to see if others felt the same way or if I was crazy. Crazy seems to be the trending assessment. ;-)
      Okay lastly, I appreciate the sub from way back and I am sorry to see you go. This is the first unsubscribes I saw in real time when I bounced from 1,804 to 1,803. Maybe somewhere down the line, when all my LWU jitters are accounted for, I can earn you back with something else but either way I appreciate your feedback. I do take issue with the "total shit" video part...did you hear that bumper music? That was, at least, pretty solid right? ;-) Thanks again and I am intentionally denying your light saber wasn't real claim to keep the dream alive.

My issue was with the appearance of dishonesty about that support in what seemed to be an effort to cover the LiveWire and its limitations. I am glad to say, my worries seem unfounded at this point. They have been very candid about the problems they ran into and it seems like a big step forward in understanding for this type of riding in the future.

That comes out to 116.43 miles per/day without counting the trip across/around the Darien Gap and without any stopping to soak up culture or rest or repairs of filming. They add a lot of voice over for effect and you hear them say things that clearly arent coming out of their mouth. When there was an accident, it was always assumed as the worst possible outcome. When the crew flipped their car in the Long Way Round on apparent flat ground, I kinda lost the sense that the program was genuine and now I literally dont believe a word that comes out of their mouth because of it. I still really like the series and always will. But Ewan and Charlie really try to make it dramatic as possible and I really dont think it is. Amazing how Ewan adopted his daughter from Mongolia, its the only bit of the entire series I think is genuine.

      I’m not searching for likes. I’m taking a stance on a subject and sometimes that is unpopular. Plugging in wherever they are isn’t enough to charge the bikes afternoon riding. The only way these bikes get a full charge is overnight with standard or an hour or so on quick chargers. With the quick chargers that is easy but if they were/are going to go with “we just used local plug ins” then they are full of it.
      Luckily, from folks that have seen the first three episodes, they are very upfront about their charging regimen.

      @@BeGoneForGood I think your missing the point here. This is all new. But first and foremost ....IT'S AN ADVENTURE!.. It is 100% new for motor bikes and no knows where it will go from here. Both the good and the bad are all aired for everyone to see and hear. Harley themselves said they are looking forward to all of the comments the 2 of them make along the way on their journey, so that they can readdress them later. This is very brave of HD to invest in this and for it to be out their for all to see. It doesn't matter if you don't do this for any thumbs up (just as well). But by having more thumbs down than up, shows that most people don't really care what you have to say. And in the end more and more people give you thumbs down don't what to see you channel. Then whats the point?

      @BeGoneForGood  4 роки тому

      I’m not missing the point at all. I want this to be a real look at this adventure but when Ewan states that they plugged in where they could and doesn’t mention (at least in this tiny interview) about their reliance on support vehicles and quick chargers then I wonder how much truth we’re getting. If they went about this as a commercial instead of a fact finding mission that will show pros AND cons then I would lose a lot of respect for the pair.
      Luckily, based off the early viewers, that isn’t the case at all and they were very honest about their unique circumstances. I applaud them for that and it was sort of what I expected all along. This single interview gave me pause but I had faith.
      Lastly, thumbs up, thumbs down...it’s all part of the feedback loop. One of my most popular vids is about 50/50 so I am okay with being controversial. What I’m not okay with is lying about what I think so people I’ll like me. As you stated, what’s the point in that?

If they had done it on the old GS bikes, I would be looking forward to it but in that "nothing new to see here" kind of way. With the electric bikes this just gets SO much more interesting. My excitement and hope that they stay true to the Long Way brand is obviously bleeding through.

    Sorry but without even seeing the interview yet, it was clear to me from the word electric that this was a virtue signalling sell out performance from the word go. When I heard Harley Davidson was involved I was SURE of it. I'm not a big fan of "Man-Made" climate change fearmongering, and although I am excited at new cleaner sources of energy, I do not consider electric propulsion particularly efficient once you dive into the manufacturing and the need for electric power usually made by burning fuel. Get rid of the middleman, go light, and run a gas-powered adventure bike. The environment will thank you. Gas is much more environmentally friendly at this time, and so sorry, electric adventure bikes are a poor choice for a trip like this, so other than the entertainment value which I am hopeful for, it is a sell-out and virtue signalling at it's worse, OR just complete ignorance, but I credit Charlie and Ewan with more intelligence, so I am gonna give them the benefit of the doubt, and accuse them of being used for money. This was a sell-out of common sense from the word go, and I assume fake as hell, although I haven't watched yet, but really if you need to ride that route, DON'T use any kind of electric powered bike. You are just creating problems, and you are NOT helping the environment. BTW CO2 is not a toxic gas, it is the noble gas of life, and for over 90% of the history of life on this planet, it was about 4 to 6 times higher than it is right now without melting anything, and the fauna and flora of the earth was happier for it. I don't have the background or expertise to get too deep into your post but I really appreciate your take on the journey. I didn't really think of the electric bike thing as a sell out because I think Ewan is certainly a true believer and wasn't just doing this for the show. It may not be a great choice for the type of adventure they chose but for me, that makes it interesting. They could have chosen to just ride around the States which could have supported this type of bike over those distances pretty easily. The fact that they chose to go in over the top of what this bike is capable of and really find the breaking points, is a HUGE selling point for the series to me. I have been encouraged with how open they have been all the way through about the bike's limitations. It seemed less like a commercial and more like a fact finding mission which is obviously more fun for the viewer.
      This type of trip on this type of bike probably won't be possible for the "regular guys" for another ten years or so which is why I think their adoption of this tech is instructive for the rest of us. It gives a great indication of where this technology needs to grow before it is broadly accessible. Maybe it is bad tech and won't be the future but right now, this gives us places to grow.

      @@BeGoneForGood I have seen the first few episodes so far, out of curiousity since I really liked their other adventures, and I must say, they didn't sugar coat it much. They showed the flatbed with the Diesel generator having to be towed along with the trip. They showed that even most household energy grids do not have sufficient amperage capacity to charge these machines. I still say that it is a bad choice of machine for the task and that a gasoline powered motor is actually more efficient AND environmentally friendly. But I have more appreciation for the pioneering adventure after having watched it. And it is entertaining. My main argument is over the falicy and politics of ManMade Global Warming Theory itself. I applaud any exploration of new technology as a nerd. I just hate the fact that people are being told the sky is falling when it is not, because they are being sold a lie to give manipulative and evil people power to control and destroy economies. There is always a way to get something done. The adventure with electric is trying to get there on a battery where for us the adventure is the journey, not having to worry much about the bike.
    I would consider it for around town but I just don't ride around town. Cross country, absolutely not interested.
    It's silent because all their batteries are dead. I don't think it's a scam. Just not practical on any electric bike.
    If you have support vehicles I would think that battery swaps would be the way to go. Someone needs to be hauling a generator. The Ford truck could supply all the DC they could use with a DC generator installed.

Maybe I don't understand the marketing plan but getting info out seems like a good choice. Or maybe I just want to hear more. ;-)
      I don't have an issue at all with the support or measures they needed to make the trip happen. I just hope we get to see all that extra stuff so it doesn't seem like they are "faking" an all electric trip through SA and CA. I want to see the adventure and not a commercial. Like Bourdain's later stuff, the bikes or food are just an excuse for the exploration. A sort of a SitDoc (Situation documentary) if you will. Your UA-cam video is irrelevant because you are using the word scam as beat click before watching the actual documentary. The first notion of lack of credibility is that you have your background music almost louder than your microphone in your mix. You are all seeing using terms like, “I don’t think” , “I’m not sure if“...
    Remember that a documentary of this sort is actually showing a “in a perfect world” scenario were charging stations of adequate charging capabilities are available for the electric bike. So far the documentary shows that it’s possible if you have diesel generators being pulled with a camera crew. As the technology gets better and better, this gets easier and easier and more likely to be available to every day Consumers. This is the way of all vehicles and I applied to Filmmaker’s for not only making something entertaining while educational which is the true sign of a successful documentary. On the other hand, you are UA-cam video I would not applied as not only a filmmaker but documentary filmmaker as you are beginning with bait click terminology. If you have seen all of the episodes then you should seriously consider either taking down this video or retracting some of your statements. In that super short interview segment, it didn't seem clear just how much support they used for the trip and it seemed possible for the first time, in my mind, that this could have all been a PR stunt.
      You also have to remember that this video was shot eight months before we even had a release date for the series and all there was to go on was rumor and found photos of the journey from non-participants. The flow of information out of this project, given what is available today, was abysmal and that led to many, including me, to be understandably apprehensive about motives. I said things like, "I don't think..." and "I am not sure if..." because I am not a journalist and am purely giving speculation about a topic we are all interested in.
      As far as taking this down, it isn't going to happen for two reasons. One, nothing I said in this video is outside the bounds of reasonable criticism given what we had at the time. There have been follow ups which have revised my thinking on their handling of the new tech and their responsibility for honesty. Secondly, asking a question isn't an indictment. It is a question and that is pretty simple to see from the video as I am a huge fan of the team.
      Lastly, I love that you think I have a "sound engineer" for these productions. Either that means I am better at this than I thought or worse. Tough to say but the music issue has been adjusted in follow up videos and I look forward to your continued viewing to watch how this one man operation improves with each new offering.

    The whole thing was a scam. This bike has very shitty range. Its a city bike plain and simple. Unless you live in LA or NYC your gonna struggle finding charging stations in the US. I50 miles tops and if your on it then the charge goes even quicker. Most of the time these guys were riding at 40 mph or lower. Thats not a fun ride. Plus they had a shit ton of support vehicles. If harley can increase the range and lower the price it will sell. Otherwise it will become a museum piece quick.

      I agree. This doesn't seem like the right bike for this type of ride at all. It would be a great commuter but ADV is just ridiculous and it shows.

    Just finished watching the series....maybe you should have waited and watched the series. There were numerous challenges they had with regards to charging the bikes and the Rivian vechicles.
    By doing this video prematurely, it makes you look, at the very least, foolish. I am not familiar with this UA-cam channel is, but why would you even talk about fraudulent behaviour before watching the actual series?

      These were the questions swirling around the project basically the moment it was announced that they would be riding the Harley Livewire. My start in adventure biking, like many others, came from the previous two series so I was really excited to see the third installment. I’d always defended the decision by the crew without hesitation until I saw the referenced interview with Ewan where he seemingly skirted the support element to this trip. It was the first I thought maybe all the cynics were right. This video discusses those doubts I’d had and reiterated my expectations, which were met, for honesty and sincerity from the boys, about exactly what was needed to complete this trip.

    At the beginning yes, even they complained, Ewan said long way and electric bikes no way! in a hotel room, probably he cried when cameras turned off, they tried not to show their frustration but it was obvious then Rivian made them a new charger (for Harleys) which is portable, installed on Rivian cars and fully charges a bike in 2 hours, watch carefully! Those two men and the team put their life into that series what are you talking about, cameraman guy was dying of altitude sickness, he carried on till they "posted" him down, director went under broken Rivian car, tonnes of weight, to repair on that loose terrain I was shouting get out of under the car you gonna die, just to save the series, just to keep the team going, Charley??? right after an ultra serious accident kept him in hospital for months with all pins on his legs and body, he ride in pain for hours day after day under rough and dangerous terrain, hard and soft mixed, knowing that next accident will leave him disabled, he ain't said nothing, not one single word, just carried on and never showed up his pain, kept the team going. Also it was so cold at the beginning Harleys not charged proper then weather changed things started getting better, smiley faces started on all team members. It's Rivian's invention saved the series. The only thing was good about Harleys, they sound awesome. Credit to Rivian more than Harley. Next series coming, " long way up then round and round again" :)

      The series has been incredible and I am glad to see my expectations of the guys being honest about their issues with the new tech were met with flying colors. It has been a monster ride so far.

    Watch the show. No one is trying to lie and make anything up, Did they have a vast support team, YES. Did they stop and have failed luck on charging, YES. Did they have a pickup truck that carried a diesel generator to help them in a pinch, YES. Are these guys also doing this on a timeline and on a production schedule, YES. Are they traveling around wearing their celebrity on their sleeves, NO. Are they hiding that they don’t want to be in a Patagonian winter night with just a tent, NO. If you are watching the show to see if two guys did an epic journey with no support and no backups, then this isn’t a show for you. If you want to see two people experiencing humanity on a journey that coincidentally, they did on electric vehicles to bring attention to other pressing environmental issues... you might enjoy it.

      This was posted nearly 8 months ago when we were getting zero info from the production and no evidence was available for anything about the trip. The vid was speculative, of course, and I am glad we will finally get a lot of answers to these questions as the series is released. I am glad to see they are being very forthright about their challenges and support. It is exactly as I had expected.

    Cannot hear much of what you are saying. Your strong U/S accent, which is not easy for native speakers of English to understand, and the overbearing music (noise) defeat your purpose. I persevered, but gave up after about 4 - 5 minutes.

      I apologize for the difficulties. It turns out the mix on this sound was off and created problems for many. It should be getting better in the follow up vids. Thank you very much for the heads up but I can't do much about the accent. I was born with it. ;-)

    complete waste of time, the bikes and Rivians break before or at México because the trip stops at central America and you don´t see any of that up to L.A. instead it turns into pimp my ride with a bus and some phony story about dangerous travel in much safer places than the ones they´ve already been in.

      Yeh, this is basically how I felt for the last couple of episodes. It just felt rushed and unfinished. It is a shame really because it could have been so much more if the boys hadn't lost focus.

    If you read Rivian's comments on this, Rivian, and possibly Harley, paid for and installed chargers all throughout South America before the long way up. Additionally Rivian vehicles have giant batteries that can go 400+ miles and the extra charge on a 150 miles day can be used to charge the bikes. Beyond that most of the travel was at relatively low speeds, which extends the range of electric vehicles.

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  3 роки тому +1

      That is really cool that Rivian helped them with the charging issues and I am glad to see them being so candid about the limitations of this new tech. It has been interesting to watch their experience.

    I don't get what would be bad if they used the DC chargers? In the other show, the support vehicles helped them occasionally with gas and spare parts. Who cares? Isn't this just about seeing the bikes and the guys having fun?

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  4 роки тому

      I don't think there is anything wrong with the DC chargers at all. I kind of figured they would be a big part of the show. I think the only thing I would be disappointed about would be if they used the chargers often but acted as though they could have done the trip without them. The interview gave me the impression they were trying to say the bikes made it on house charges and lunchtime "refills" to make the trip. I don't see how that is possible but I am VERY interested in watching to find out. September 18th is the premiere date.

    You should not have made any comments without watching the show. They showed the other vehicles and creation of charging stations. Your critique has no merit because you did not watch the show. Shame! Shame! Shame!

    • @BeGoneForGood
      @BeGoneForGood  Рік тому

      Shame, Shame, Shame seems a bit over dramatic but I will address your assertions. The show wasn't available when I made the comments and I made those comments BECAUSE there was a lot of speculation surrounding the project. If you watched the video at all you would have found that I expected the guys to handle themselves exactly as they did. I went through the concerns I was hearing and was VERY supportive of the project. I think they did a very good job of covering the good and bad of the electric bike on a trip like this, which again, is exactly what I expected. If doubts and concerns should never be voiced when dealing with much loved product, then I guess we will simply have to agree to disagree. I appreciate the feedback either way.

    Harley Davidson and Apple are paying them a lot of money. That's the big difference this time. Electric bikes wouldn't have been doable on the other Long Way trips.

      I would have agreed with you for sure but the trailer just came out and it looks like they tackle some pretty rough areas. I mean, it isn't off-roading in Mongolia but they definitely pushed these bikes.

    Yeah support van that won't charge the bikes is fossil fueled! The bike Claudio rides is fossil fueled! Most of the remote locations they charge off are powered by guess what, Fossil Fueled!

      It has been a MAJOR undertaking to keep these vehicles on the road but, at least, they are being very honest about those issues. That was my biggest worry as we waited for the series. It is a new tech that is relatively untested, especially in these areas so I applaud their effort. Plus it has been fun to watch and really shot incredible well.
