Now this is the fine and concise guide I needed sir thank you very much ! As a side note I thought about playing with volumetrics raising the bolt up but i'm afraid it would leave too much back pressure under the piston and sneeze or make a mess after every pull
When I pull the level all the way up, it doesnt preinfuse until it is down %30. Can it be about the level being too high? Because when I pull the shots, there is no pressure until level almost half way down.
@@mitchdoescoffee The problem is it is not hard until I pull down the level almost %30 down from the top and when I lift the level all the way, it doesnt pre-infuse at all..
@@mitchdoescoffee Before portafilter the water comes quite nicely but when I put the portafilter and I pull up the level all the way up, no water goes through the puck. until I pull down the level half way down again..

I honestly couldn't tell you... I haven't seen much consistency from the machines I have serviced... so either they have been adjusted over the years or they aren't all set the same from the factory.
Hello. Thanks for your video. I was wondering about the adjustment of the piston and was curious, if I get enough water into my shots. One correction - Having done an apprenticeship as machinist ages ago, the tread on the piston shaft is 10 mm and that has a 1.5 mm pitch (for regular thread - fine thread is even less). So one full turn (360°) of the nut will lift the piston 1.5mm - not 2mm. Doesn't change the point you made that you just use the nut to lift the piston a fraction above the screen.
I have measured with extremely accurate digital vernier calipers... I dare say with the age of this machine, either the older models aren't using the same thread pitch or there is some wear in the components...
Wonderfully concise and clear explanation on how to set one's LP piston throw for maximum volume delivery.
Cheers
Thank you so much 🙏
Hi Mitch. Thank you for this video. Your video is clear and easy to understand how to do this adjustment.
Thanks so much Ernie. 🙏
awesome thanks Mitch. just got a La Pavoni myself and been wondering what sort of simple fine tuning stuff I can do. happy new year mate
Awesome! Welcome to the LaPavoni family.
Happy new year buddy. 🙏
brilliant!
Thank you so much. 🙏
@@mitchdoescoffee I am going to use this trick with the 1971 Europiccola I am currently working on to stop leaking water
@AMXalberto ah. Where is it leaking from?
Thanks. Crystal clear.
Thank you for tuning in. 🙏

Thanks so much. To prevent the LP sneeze, raise the lever up slightly as you pull the portafilter out. 👌
thanx, it does work great 😇
Awesome! Happy Brewing 🙏
Does this help the coffee taste like the raisins in the third slice from the top of a Tip Top thick cut fruit toast loaf?
More research is needed... when are you free for a livestream?
@@mitchdoescoffee Most arvos this week im good.

Where can i find tamps for my la Pavoni, im based in Australia and the shipping is very expensive outside of the country. Cheers
I can do custom ordered ones to suit most machines.
Flick me a DM on instagram and I will see what I can do for you if you like? @mitchdoescoffee
Hey I don't have Instagram would you have an email

There are a few things it could be... is it VERY hard to push down?
