I didn't know they had ANY stores left. I remember in the 2000's when they transitioned into a 'cell phone' store. Classic tale of losing a market and not transitioning or re-inventing your product or service. I noticed they had very little if any current or new RS branded merch. I used to buy a TON of batteries and electronic components there. They had some killer batteries. Just yesterday I needed some AAA batteries. Hunted around my house and found an OLD remote for something and it had some gold Enercell batteries. Still had a full charge! Must have been at least 13-15 years old.
Hard to find a good battery these days!

Our Radio Shack's, we had three, closed several years ago. Over the years I purchased many items there and I never went in that they weren't busy. I don't understand why they closed. It wasn't for a lack of business, here in Danville, Va anyway!
It really is a shame! There are virtually no stores that sell electronics components off the shelf in a brick and mortar store... You can order everything online, but sometimes you just need one resistor, or capacitor, or transistor to fix a problem and get the job done the same day... So you are stuck waiting for something to arrive in the mail...
Unless you live in Orlando, we have Skycraft. There are still some radio shacks out there, but not many.

I visited this store a few years back. I was shocked to see one that was still extant. Sad that it’s gone away.
My wife and I go to a lot of yard, tag garage sales, estate sales etc. I usually scoop up any old radio shack packaged transistors, capacitors, diodes etc when I come across them.

I was at Skycraft and noticed they added a “Radio Shack” section that is coming soon. I’m guessing Skycraft got a lot of parts,
Destiny popped it to skycraft.
