Back in the day when miss Houston bought it and it was brand new, it was very expensive (about 6 million dollars). It still remains magnificent and huge, just like Whitney's voice.
Houston acquired it for $2.7 million in 1987 when she was at the height of her stardom and the house was less than a year old. It’s also the site of her wedding to Bobby Brown.
A house is said to represent who belongs to it. Well, I think this house is as magnificent as your owner. I am happy that it was purchased by one of his fans, Matthew Krauthamer, and that he decided to keep the property unchanged, limiting himself to changing the appliances, and a fresh paint. Try to take care of it Matthew! Her soul, her spirit ... I'm still partially there, in that house where she spent many good moments. R.I.P. Whitney - Enrico P. - ITALY
I don't know why they won't make it into Museum and put all her belongings inside the house and let people tour to see it the family should buy it back and make it into a special Museum like Prince did. So we can have some place to go to remember her 🤔But that's just my opinion lol 😂
Kelly Barnard I agree, this place looks more like a conference center. It doesn’t look like a home, it never did. All that openness, way too high ceiling, it just doesn’t seem private, intimate and snuggly.
This house was not Whitney's style. That's one of the reasons when she first moved in she would either sleep in the maids quarters or on the couch in the living room. Her father found the house and thought it would be a great investment.
I remember when Whitney bought this house....I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. If I would've had the funds to purchase this house when it was first placed on the market, I would've bought it immediately and made a few upgrades, particularly to the kitchen....those white cabinets and Formica counter tops look very cheap...and I would probably leave the rest of it as is.
Well at least a Whitney fan ended up buying this house. He made some slight upgrades to it. But essentially, the home still looks the same. Miss you, Nippy! ♥️
it's surprising it was never updated, it's weird to not see granite countertops or marble. I know carpet was a big thing back then but it's so much carpet lol. Like in the 2000s getting a make over would have been cool.
whitney hadn't lived there since 2003. it was just property she owned. I'm guessing she never moved back in because bad memories, maybe she wanted something new instead
Hi, the house was actually built in the 80's, and as a diehard Whitney fan, why would you want to renovate it or change anything inside of it? Whitney lived in it looking just LIKE THAT ... like hello
What the hell is wrong with you this HOUSE is perfekt and everybody who say something diffrent is wrong this HOUSE looks like a nice HOUSE so don't try it
I think "DATED" is cool, for me anyway. I find it way to big and winding, and the flood of natural light in the morning would drive me nuts, but it is cool home and alot of history to it..alot of those rooms I would never use, but if I could purchase it, I would probably be the type of person to not change a thing, just keep it as is. Maybe change some odds and ends, curtains etc, but again, 'dated' for me is fine-if others did not like it, too bad don't come over.. ....Kirk..in Montreal
I painted two large works for Whitney and for this home, the sound studio and the dining room. Its amazing how these excuse my language vultures go after the money. Its so dated now and needs so much work but they act like procuring it is Gods gift to all mankind .
Everyone forgets that this is a prime upscale real estate area on nearly 5 acres. Yes, it needs updating but it has historical value, too. I think the new buyer got a great deal on the house, all things considered.
If I was fortunate to buy this home, the first thing I'd do is update the recording studio and due to the history of the mansion and who it once belonged to, and she is no longer here, I'd only allow myself to renovate a STRICT 45% of the mansion!
OH Yeah Miss Whitney AKA Nippy Definitely Couldn’t Wait To Come Home From Touring OR Filming To Come Back Home & Crash In Her Master Bedroom 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If I was a realtor and yes this listing is everything but I don't think I could do it. I've seen the house, and not on being bumble fuck brown, but in interviews, and article's. I think I would cry. I really do. This is the first time I've seen into her home since she passed. 😭😤

The townhouse in Alpharetta Georgia is back on the market. Tragedy and bad memories tied to properties makes a difficult for a buyer to entertain purchasing.
Yes it's outdated. It needs some work done inside to make it more modern. When Whitney had it in the 90's it was gorgeous and it still is just needs work
Gosh that looks extremely dated but I probably wouldn't want to change it lol it's Whitney's! I'd probably live in it a couple years, charge and host some viewings then remodel and redecorate.
Correction folks: Everything is dated back to the 80s. Whitney built this house in 1987. And honestly, I like it. Total nostalgia.
I'd buy it purely for the nostalgia. I love it just as it is ❤
When did whitney move from this house?
@@leoda1190 I believe around 2004/2005
Houston acquired it for $2.7 million in 1987 when she was at the height of her stardom and the house was less than a year old.
I read that she didn't custom build it herself, but it was brand new custom built for someone else, not even a year old when she bought it.

I love this home! I think it looks great AS IS!! I Would want to keep just the way Whitney had it! RIP Whitney 🕯⚘⚘⚘

So many memories bitter and sweet
I would say fix the major fixes but this house is historical in so many ways if i could stand in this house it would be so amazing to me
The owners had a halloween party in that house and they picked I believe 5 people from a fan page on facebook to be apart of the festivities.
I don't know why they won't make it into Museum and put all her belongings inside the house and let people tour to see it the family should buy it back and make it into a special Museum like Prince did. So we can have some place to go to remember her 🤔But that's just my opinion lol 😂

Kelly Bernard, I don't think the people in the neighborhood would allow that place to become a museum. They wouldn't want alot of traffic.
Staci Staci Whitney built this, her father didn’t find it.
Because the people left are money hungry shit face losers. Sorry. 🤷🏾♂️

When I win the Lottery I'm gonna buy this house ! Lol
Great for natural light...needed totally updated

After 2002 she was hardly at this house. She had a few homes in Atlanta. But yes this house is very 90's. Needs a major face lift.
90's? More like very 80's. That's when the house was built and decorated and literally was never redone after that. I still love the house tho.
Hi, the house was actually built in the 80's, and as a diehard Whitney fan, why would you want to renovate it or change anything inside of it? Whitney lived in it looking just LIKE THAT ... like hello

I love houses stopped in time. This house is so 1987.

This house is SOOOOOOO 90s to me! I love it, but as others said, quite dated.
I painted two large works for Whitney and for this home, the sound studio and the dining room. Its amazing how these excuse my language vultures go after the money. Its so dated now and needs so much work but they act like procuring it is Gods gift to all mankind .

wow. this is kinda sad.
Right? Whitney had so many memories there. Her birthday bashes, her wedding. It's sad to see how time has moved on. It's all simply a memory now.
yes very
whitney source Yep. Bad juju there
Can you imagine what that furniture looks like up close? It's 30 years old. Yikes.

I wish I could buy it... Nice
Needs to be renovated.
Exactly 80’s design that probably looks amazing now updated.

I know this is a strange question but I was wonder was it her place and scenery they used in the movie?
“THE BODYGUARD”
nice home
I would have loved to buy this

Thank you for the kind words. Let us know if there’s anything we can assist you with. :)
Wow, this house is only 1million now. They may need to go down on the price a bit.
It gives me more of a 70s vibe

This music is annoying but i like her home. It’s unique
Very dated...was cool for that era...but would cost a lot to upgrade...
the only thing I would upgrade are the televisions and studio equipment
Not much has changed since the 80s...need a lot of upgrades
Eu quero muito linda essa mansão
Gosh that looks extremely dated but I probably wouldn't want to change it lol it's Whitney's! I'd probably live in it a couple years, charge and host some viewings then remodel and redecorate.
very outdated. but nice
I don't care who it belonged to, its very dated
Agree!! It's like they didn't update anything after Whitney Moved out!! Very "Bodyguard" era..circa 1993
Word is she abandoned this home because someone came looking for her there...and it wasnt a "friendly visit" allegedly
I can't believe this house is just being sold. who in her family could afford it after.
Hi did this property sell ? what was the asking price ..?
Blair Lloyd 18.1 million $ can u afford that??
LOL it sold for just UNDER one million...and can u afford that?!?
@@musicsinme5349 I can

Why you still got my house on the market house off of somebody from Minnesota Antwun Houston
Very dated. Would need a complete renovation to make it modern.
Someone already did that
ms, ross
The decor needs a major makeover! It looks cheap, gaudy and faded.
JE, It looks a bit faded, but cheap and gaudy? Really? I especially don't see anything that looks gaudy.
Its making me want to pull my hair out! I screamed when I saw that. And its not even my house!😄
It takes away from its value.❤
