- This English Fan loves German Football and I keep getting told the 2nd division is better than the actual Bundesliga - some even say the 2. Bundesliga is the BEST in the world 🌍 Today we watch Hannover 96 vs Schalke ...now I hope I'm not bringing continued bad luck for Schalke as after last time when they threw away that 3 goal lead at the Veltins Arena vs Darmstadt - they could do without another loss 😅 The Reds (Hannover) have started the season quite well and they're making the Niedersachsenstadion a FORTRESS 🏟️ What are your thoughts on the Hannover stadium - fans / atmosphere - and of course the 2. Bundesliga in general? 🤔

the third tier actually had higher attendance on sunday (14k) than the first bundesliga. The third tier is just as good as the first 2 and even in the 4th tier (ecspecially in the east) the atmospheres are also crazy.

you should visit a Hamburg vs Hannover match (HSV vs. HSV). its a classic and they are often chanting the same things together as both teams are called HSV and the fans are indeed bound through a fan-friendship.
..Or watch Hannover vs. Braunschweig to see the world burn.

This was the one I was waiting for Ry on your tour of Germany and it lived up to all expectations. Watched the game live on Sky Bet. Unfortunately their coverage didnt do the atmosphere justice but your report shows why its such an amazing league to go and watch Football in. The atmosphere sounded absolutely awesome.
The game was also on Sky’s UA-cam channel yesterday too.

@@RysFootyParadise There is always a small HSV section in the Nordkurve. You can even see the little HSV banner in your video. We get along really really well, since we have the same common enemies, "St. Pauli and Eintracht Braunschweig." The friendship between Hannover and Hamburg is almost 40 years old and it still lasts to this day. We celebrate together and we suffer together.
Oh, and I forgot to say that Hannover has the biggest jewish community in all of europe and we are proud of that. Our stadium is basically a safe haven for all our jewish friends and fans. Unlike St. Pauli or Celtic, we are not antisemitic scums.

Small corrections:
HSC Hannover also plays in the 5th division (together with Arminia). Wikipedia is probably not updated from the 2021 season where they did play 4th.
You got the story with the shirt colors almost right. Its not, that all 3 mentioned clubs have the same CLUB colors..
Back then (we're talking 1910s here) everyone just showed up to the matches with a shirt everyone had at home as specific football shirts or numbers on the back werent a thing yet...and the shirt everyone had at home was obviously white!
So everyone just turned up in white shirts, which clearly doesnt work so they had to improvise with scarves tied around the waist, armbands, different colored caps and stuff but thats no solution of course..
And bibs didnt exist either yet..lol
So it was actually the CITY of Hannover (the department responsible for organizing the football matches) that stepped in and made the decisions about the shirt colors and Hannover 96 ended up with the red one..
Arminia has the colors of green and white but plays in blue
Hannover 96 is black-white-green but plays in red
And the HSC (being the oldest club of the 3, founded in 1893) got to play in green cause their colours are green-white-red
At least thats how the story is being told, i dont think there are still records from that time.. they might lay in between the mentioned rubble under the stadium ;-)

Proud to be one of the 20,000 Schalke fans that took the trip to Hannover. Sadly a very bad start with the new coach, only registering our first shot on target in the 85th minute.. nevertheless our defense was surpirsingly solid! Great Video mate!
