I'll add this here in case someones is wondering if you can move a flawless budd. You can use a minecart contraption from the create mod. Its a known method to move spawners with that mod.
This is super helpful. I never really used those planes before, which occurs to me could be a reason why the change was made. To force you to use more of what the mod has to offer. Will be setting this up in ATM8, thanks!
Yea before it was set up an auto miner then get tons of them, I was wondering with all the high-tier drives needing tons how on earth are ppl expected to get that many going to each meteor this explains it
For anyone playing all the mods 8 (or just using the Mekanism mod), you can use cardboard boxes to move flawless budding quartz blocks, all other methods are overly complicated and unnecessary, 4 sawdust is literally all you need to move flawless buds to your inv After some testing with the method i just described, you don't need to replace a flawless bud. This means ME interface is unnecessary, along with the silk touch plane, allowing for 2 extra growth accelerators on the bottom and side with a flawless bud. but splitting the networks up is still critical unless you like dust. All in all good video!
hey dude I did what you said but now the farm is generating dust, I made sure to not connect the networks and everything looks good, idk what’s going on, and when I break the ME interface, the machine stops breaking the clusters at all. I know I’m a bit late but any help is appreciated
@@matheusgalvaotelles2040 LOL yea I haven't played this modpack in a minute but try adding a filter so it only breaks when fully developed, and double check to make sure you have 2 separate networks, anchors are pretty good for that, other than that I'm not sure
Super helpful and concise. My current modpack makes it simple to move Flawless ones, so I adjusted for that, but otherwise this was exactly what I needed.
I was having issues with this setup until I read the comments about needing to power the annihilation plane with quartz fiber or it will break ever stage of the Certus Quartz. Great video btw
if you need dust, then it is way better to still brake it as a crystal, and then put it in the inscriber. breaking a non-full quartz will always give 1 dust, but a fully grown will give at least 4
@meplay185 Thanks, but what you do you mean with "non-full quartz"? A quartz crystal is always full, and when I put a quartz crystal in the inscriber, it's giving me 1 quartz dust, and mind you, and that's with a modpack that I created myself with the Minecraft 1.20.1 version of AE2, one for which I never changed the default configuration. Is it possible that you used a modpack that had its default configuration changed by the one who created that modpack? Or maybe you used on older version of AE2 that allowed you to get 4 dust.
@@PeteDunesyou misunderstand. crystals have multiple growth stages. they give you exactly one dust when you break them, except the largest, fully grown crystal, which gives you 4 pieces of "Certus Quartz Cluster". The smaller growth stages only give you a single dust. then from those 4 clusters, you can make 4 pieces of dust.
@@PeteDunes they mean a quartz thats not fully grown wont drop any more than 1 certus quartz dust. fully grown crystals drop 4 (or more with fortune) and are better to put in the inscriber because they yield more dust.
If you can move a flawless block using a cardboard box or similar providing mod you can surround it with growth accelerators horizontally and put a annihilation plane on the top and bottom connecting to a chest with a storage bus that only has "Certus Quartz Crystal" on the bus. This works perfectly and maximizes the acceleration while collecting only fully grown buds. And on top of that you can enchant the annihilation planes to an insane degree in some packs (e.g. Direwolf20 1.3.0)

@@chasekelly1908 yeah if you throw a charged certus quarz in a lake with a certus quartz block you get a damaged budding block. you can repeat this process all the way up to a flawed one.
Actually you can use Flawless blocks instead of flawed and you CAN bring them to your base. This blocks can be found inside of meteors, but cannot be broken into reusable block (flawed block drops instead), even with silktouch this blocks will degrade after breaking. But you can actually get it. For example, you usually never play MC with AE2 mod without something else (you cannot build generator setup with AE2 itself). And I always play with Create mod (+Also Create Crafts & Additions mod to have an Alternator that is compatible with energy accepter), it gives an opportunity to build wind or water powered generator to power ME system. Also a lot of mechanical crafts and automations and the most important it gives mechanical piston and contraptions. You can push Flawless blocks from meteor spot right to your base with mechanical piston (regular pistons would not work). But this way to get Flawless block is also very time consuming, so the best way to bring is to make a glued contraption from all crystal blocks inside of meteor (using super glue) and pick it up with wrench using minecart assembler. Now all insides of meteor are placed in your inventory as a wrapped contraption. You can place it anywhere in your base and dismantle contraption. When you have your flawless blocks on your base you can push them to their place near Growth accelerator with mechanical piston. And here you have it, flawless block that grows crystals and never degrades. This is very legal way to get Flawless block without cheating.

@@loganprevo5593 if you destroy a flawed block without silktouch, it will return a base certus block and the machine will destroy the flawed block just after being placed. silk touch prevent this!

Can I use a capacity card on the export bus so I can use other grades of certus quartz block as well? Also, How long do the flawed blocks last before i have to go find another meteorite and get more flawed certus quartz?
you can regenerate the certus quartz blocks by dropping them into water with a charged certus quartz. you can do this infinite times as far as i am aware. if you throw a block of certus quartz into water with 3 charged certus it fully replenishes it to a flawed budding certus quartz block
@_Striker Maybe u can help me. Its all works, but if the flawed block is dead it doesnt place another even if theres more of the flawed blocks in the ME system. If I put them out of the ME and place them in again it places the block

Meh, I don't like it. There is also no need to make it make it more complicated that it needs to be. 1. It's not always easy to get a fortune III enchantment on a book 2. There is really no need to use more than just 2 flawless blocks (easy to find); one for crystals, the other one for dust. 3. There is no need for a formation plane. 4. There is no need to use flawed blocks. Heck, they would also have to be recharged to recover a tier. 5. Once you remove the formation plane, you can grow a second bud on the opposite side to get almost double the speed, and I say "double", because that limits to number of growth blocks you can use to 4 blocks, instead of 5. 6. There is no need for mass production of quartz crystals and powder, and if there was, it would be to cover the need for storage, but that point anyone with common sense has already switched to blocks like Supreme Black Hole Unit for example (Industrial Forgiving) to store more than 2 billions items in a single block, and some mods can store even more. 7. About creating two setups; don't use them side by side, with one growth block sharing both, but place them diagonal, so that 2 growth blocks are shared, which saves on material, power usage, and Minecraft ticks.
For some reason my Fortune III Annihilation pane won't break the crystals no matter what the storage bus on the blue network is set to filter (whether empty or set to crystals). Suffice it to say I am at a loss for how to fix this one - it's unresponsive. Edit** Neither is breaking anything in front of it. I've also checked to make sure I haven't maxed out channels either. An interesting behavior is that when I throw certus crystals at the annihilation pane it imports them into the system. They just won't register the stage 4 crystals or block in front of them respectively.
Sadly mine faultered somewheres... Not entirely sure where, but... It won't place the flawed budding certus but is able to do the other stuff May I have a hand?

There isn’t a fix. In the version he is using, when broken, budding quartz goes down by one tier, but in ATM8, when broken, it goes to base form on the first break. You should just build it and find a different way to replace the budding quartz.
Silk touch is critical for this to work. That would be why yours breaks every block state since it doesn’t have silk touch. Only the fortune enchant is optional.

If you use a me glass cable then it will buy pass the storage buss making you harvest at every stage. Also you can use a carboard box (if available in your pack) to move the flawless ones and skip the silk touch step
so i am playing direwolf 1.19 and i was able to move a flawless budding block with a cardboard box from the Mek. mod. if we have a flawless, this would mean we would not need the formation plane correct?
In some ways, I like the old ore-based system but it also feels more inline with vanilla crystals this way. Kind of a toss up one way or the other, in my opinion

It is needed, otherwise the networks will mix up, in this setup we need the networks to work independently

mine do not go from my Me drive/ ME crafting terminal through the glass cables into the inmport to replace the block
why did you use a formation plane for the budding crystal? Could you not have just placed it?

AoF5 is on 1.18 which still has the certus ore you can mine. The 1.19 update (AoF6) is where this change occurs.
