this is a middle school band with timpani, chimes, a bassoon, and a marimba. I am blown away by the amount of diversity in the instruments here. Especially in a middle school band its very rare to have a bassoon or chimes. Wow.
Oh thank you so much! In my district in Utah the bands are large and very strong with complete instrumentation.

My band has two bassoons including me :)
The flute tuning is so freaking true, as a section we tuned on an F once and then after that we never did again. Now we tune on a low A.
Ranking of keys, in order of how often their major scale is played as a warm-up in concert band:
1. B♭
2. E♭
3. F
4. A♭
5-12. All the others

Bro those are literally the only scales my school learned in early band, not including chromatic
This was very well done. I laughed so hard throughout the whole thing, especially at the percussionist ones, bc I am a percussionist and that's pretty accurate in our band. Also the band director jokes were hilarious! 😂
I like playing the Bb flat scale because I consider it a good warm up for me. It doesn’t bother me that much. My high school plays it in both concert and marching band.

my band teacher does the one more time thing all day and starts band class like 10 minutes late.

Isn’t that annoying? I’m sorry your room isn’t as big as it should be. We have a GREAT district that has cared about providing awesome facilities for decades.
oh man we learned annoying songs as soon as possible and i think our band teacher still hates us from that and our percussionists play execution music the whole time

Here’s a small list of Some things I find the most annoying in band:
#5, teacher and section leaders in marching band being bossy or too strict.
#4, trombone players blasting
#3, top players playing way to well!
#2, trombone players emptying spit valves in the wrong place.
& finally, #1, reading music! (TBH, I hate that you have to read music especially if its hard for some people and it’s just feels like their forcing you to do it.)
Also everything that was listed in this video, I agree with except I I like doing Bb flat scales in band class, because I think it sounds very catchy and sounds good. 😁 also this is a good video in my opinion! 👍

So, a flute player and an ex-trumpeter turned rhythm guitarist got together and had 2 kids. One plays the viola and learns the organ by ear. The other one drops the violin and plays the keyboard by ear.
Also the part where the bass sit there while the others have to do it again

Not the contralto clarinet squeaks 💀 I used to play it in all-state band. The squeaks sounded like a dying goose

in my six grade band concert a clarinet that had a really Squeaky sound and I remember my mom recorded it and I heard it I was like man that sucks it was really loud as well
It's tough being a beginning clarinet player. Ha ha! Sorry about all those squeaks.
I kinda like the one more time thing because if I mess up while playing with the band I can just be good doing it again

So I play euphonium and everyone in the low brass section except me will talk instead of play for warm ups so as a "loud instrument" people ALWAYS hear when I mess up god it sucks

Percussionist here: I can agree with you on some of this. The other players in my period always talk, now they get sent out of class. Some of us aren't bad- everyone else, though, makes jokes or just chats during instruction. And I love that last phrase "Percussion stop being a concussion", very creative lol

Something really annoying is when you put the trumpet key in the whole just off by the slightest bit and your intrument won't work! Happens all the time with me!
the substitute one is literally so unfair because in my school we have a substitute that actually plays all the instruments 😞😞

Why is it that the clarinet's are the ones who always squeak during rehearsal's like the saxophone's barley squeak at all and they have reeds to
and this is coming from a saxophone like I never here my section squeak but the clarinet's are another story
oh yeah and saxophone's also rarely complain about broken reeds
